Upheaval

Nicholas gripped her hand tightly as if he would never let go. Disha still vividly remembers their meeting and how they were asked not to touch each other because Leonidas was a great crown prince, whereas she was just a girl from a clan that was called a clan of slaves.

But today they proved that the difference in status between the two of them wasn't that big of a deal. She didn't know why she didn't want Leonidas to let go of his grip. She didn't know why she still wanted to be with Nicholas even though sometimes there was something inside of her that made her want to leave this man.

Soledad and Nicholas walked hand in hand through the garden towards the palace where dozens of invited guests stared at them with confused looks. Leonidas looks so calm because for him the togetherness between him and Soledad is not something forbidden.

He loves Soledad and he is determined to bring their relationship into a sacred marriage. He didn't want them to hide as if what they did was a mistake they shouldn't have done.

Duke and Duchess come into their special room with Leonidas and Disha who are still very scared. She knew that she and her family would be in big trouble and all of this was because of her fault.

Soledad tood behind Nicholas, kept her head down to show her pale face. The Queen Mother continued to stare at her with hateful eyes as if she were a loathsome piece of dung.

"Get your hands off my grandson! You damn slave...!" The Queen Mother screamed while forcibly pulling Disha's hand away from Leonidas. But Leonidas immediately hugged Disha before she fell to the floor.

"Stop it, Granny...! How many times do I have to tell you to stop hurting her?" Leonidas is increasingly angry because of his grandmother's rude behavior.

"What do you see in this girl, Nicholas? We have found the most suitable bride to be with you!" Said Empress Veronica. She felt disappointed, but on the one hand she also felt sorry for Disha because after all Disha was the daughter of her cousin. Though she didn't expect that Leonidas would choose her as a wife.

"I want to marry Soledad, I love her!" Nicholas said it firmly. His shocking statement shocked the Emperor, Empress and Queen Mother.

For all they knew, Nicholas was very difficult to commit to, nor did he ever want to get close to a girl. Hearing that he suddenly wanted to marry a woman so badly made them almost in disbelief.

"What are you saying, Leonidas? How can you remember marrying a slave like her? Stop saying such nonsense!" The Queen Mother felt more and more unable to contain her emotions. She really hated the Faux Clan and always thought that the members of the clan were worse than even animals.

The way she looked at Disha was absolutely terrifying. She would not be able to accept the fact that her grandson who would become emperor had to marry a girl from a clan of slaves.

The Emperor walked up to Leonidas who was standing calmly as if he was completely sure of his decision. He had had the chance to reunite with the woman he loved and he vowed that he would not let this chance go to waste.

"Do you understand what you have said, Leonidas?" Emperor Alexander asked his son who was very stubborn. Leonidas met his father's gaze and he didn't flinch at all even though the emperor intimidated him with his gaze.

"Dad, didn't I ever ask you for anything? I always did whatever you said even if it was against my heart. But this time, let me make my own choice. I only want to love and marry one woman and that woman is only Disha."

The Empress and Queen Mother were stunned, Leonidas was obviously very serious about his wish. He did not let go of his hand on Disha who was hiding behind his body.

Disha didn't know what to do now, she wasn't sure that Prince Leonidas would succeed. But she also couldn't back down after the extraordinary effort Leonidas had made to fight for their love.

The Emperor turned his gaze to Disha who accidentally looked at the Great Emperor's face. Not any expression that Disha could read from the look on the Emperor's face. But she clearly knew that their relationship would never become real.

"Forget about that desire, Leonidas. I have already decided that you will marry Princess Genevieve of Evangelia who will become Almaric's future empress. However if you still want this girl to be with you, you can make her a concubine that way you can sleep with her without the need for any strings attached." Emperor said.

"What are you saying, Father? I don't-"

“What I'm saying are the rules that you must follow as the son of an emperor. You can't possibly marry her, we and the Faux Clan are destined to be at odds with each other forever. Letting you marry her is the same as letting our clan be destroyed by a curse. Lycan and Faux, you guys impossible to unite."
