Sad Look In Front Of The Gate

At 08.30 Miss Anne entered the classroom, the room which had previously been noisy suddenly fell silent. Miss Anne's class was labeled as the noisiest class and received the most reprimands from the principal. As the homeroom teacher, Miss Anne was of course embarrassed by that title.

Some parents are not happy that their children have to be in the same class as the native children who are causing the trouble. Of course, that's why this school began to be closed to native children from any background, no matter whether they were noble or not, because it was difficult for children with different upbringings and habits to mix with each other.

Parents continue to pressure the principal to expel Soledad from school. However, the principal was adamant in his stance, he did not want to be pressured by anyone. He retained Soledad not only because Opa Robert was the most respected person in this area, but because of Soledad's abilities.

The principal recognized Soledad's potential, she was a smart, responsive and very capable child. It has been proven that in previous semesters, Soledad was always ranked in the top three in her class. For the school principal, all children have the right to receive a decent education, no matter who they are or from which background they come.

"Good morning?" Miss Anne said hello.

"Good morning, Miss Anne...!" All the students answered in unison, they seemed enthusiastic about receiving this morning's lesson.

There was only one child who did not respond to the greeting, that child instead rested his chin and looked unenthusiastic. Miss Anne looked at him, this was normal for her.

"Soledad?" Miss Anne tried to break up the girl's reverie, whose eyes continued to wander far away somewhere, a few seconds later she yawned widely without closing her mouth.

"Yes, Miss Anne?" Soledad answered half-heartedly. His reaction actually invited laughter from his classmates.

"Hahahaha Soledad is crazy...!" Hans said.

Soledad immediately looked at him fiercely, Hans, who was shocked, then fell silent because he was afraid. For him, Soledad truly reflected a frightening, primitive figure.

"Who is crazy?" Soledad asked. Even though he was actually annoyed, today he was too lazy to deal with their chatter.

"You are sleepy?" Miss Anne asked. Seeing this student, Miss Anne had to be more patient. Soledad's disobedient and very difficult attitude was a test for her as a teacher.

"Yes, Miss Anne," he answered. That little bit means he's really sleepy.

"Why are you sleepy? Didn't you sleep last night?"

"I'm sleeping, Miss."

"So why are you still sleepy? Didn't you shower this morning?"

"Hahahaha... how could Soledad shower, she's a goat so she never showers!" Pieter exclaimed while laughing loudly.

"Hahahaha...Soledad goat!" Said the other students, they shouted at each other while laughing out loud.

"If I were a goat, do you know what you would be?"

"What?" Peter asked.

"You are an ugly and greedy wild boar!" Soledad answered. Those who had been laughing immediately fell silent.

"What did you say?" Pieter, who was annoyed, immediately got up from his seat with clenched fists.

"You wild boar, stupid and ugly!"

"Watch out, OK...!"

"Stop it already! Pieter, please sit where you and Soledad are, go wash your face so you don't feel sleepy anymore!" Miss Anne said firmly.

Pieter sat back down in his seat and Soledad was forced to go to the school bathroom to wash her face.

Today Soledad admitted that she was really very sleepy because last night she was busy helping her mother and older sister, Elina, make cheese and yogurt from the milk they got. The milk obtained will later be used as food that they will eat for the next few days. Because they can't always eat cheese every day.

After washing her face, Soledad did not immediately return to her class. He wandered around aimlessly, thinking about various things. In front of the school gate, he saw a boy with brownish blonde hair standing in front of the gate.

He watched it for a moment. The boy's skin was pale white, his eyes were green with a very sad look. Her tiny lips were pressed tightly. He just stood there doing nothing.
"What are you doing there...?" Soledad asked, she was sure the child was not a student at this school because she had never seen him before and his face looked very foreign.
The boy didn't answer, he just left. The school guard who saw Soledad standing in front of the school gate immediately called her.
"Soledad, what are you doing here? Not studying?" Asked Mr Hendric, one of the school guards.
"Did you see the boy standing in front of the gate earlier? What is he doing?"
"Whose boy do you mean?"
"There was a boy standing in front of the gate earlier. His skin was pale, his hair was blonde and slightly brown, his eyes were green."
"Oh that kid, he often stands in front of the gate. Almost every day,"
"Every day ?"
"Yeah, his house is not far from here. Maybe you always pass by that kid's house every day."
"Really? Are you serious, Mr Hendrick?"
"Yes, seriously, the child is Count William Der Lijn's son," answered Mr Hendrick.
William Der Lijn, that name is certainly familiar to his ears. Even though Soledad is still a child who is not yet 12 years old. He definitely knew the names of important people like that.
William Der Lijn, an important official at Haness. The house is very large, located in the middle of a large field and only about 200 meters from the school gate.
That's right, it's the house that Soledad passes by almost every day when she goes to school, and even when she comes home from school, she definitely passes that big house. But he had never seen the boy before.
"But why are you only looking at the school gate? Isn't he at school?"
"Then I don't know either. Well, it's better for you to go to your class before your class gets angry again!"
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot!" Soledad immediately ran to her class before Miss Anne looked for her, who had been absent from class for almost half an hour. Mr Hendrick who was watching could only laugh at Soledad's behavior.
