Chapter Thirty - I will do what it takes
Brandon
Skyla and I were exhausted by the time we arrived at her place. It was a long assed flight. We got bored in the last hour, so we decided to join the mile-high club. It was so damn hot, the chance of getting caught.
“Welcome to my place. I know it isn’t anything like yours, but it is home.” She says.
“It’s great, angel.”
Yes, it was an apartment, not a house, but it was a good size and homely.
“I plan on buying somewhere bigger one day, but for now, I am happy here.” Skyla smiles.
“And that is all that matters.”
“I will give you the proper tour tomorrow. Right now, I need a shower and bed.” She sighs.
Skyla has a meeting first thing tomorrow morning. She needs her rest. I have no idea what I will do when she is away. I will try to find my way around.
“Good idea. What time is your meeting?”
“Eight-thirty, but we can get up a little earlier and go for breakfast. You could come to the office with me if you want, there is a place inside for a coffee, but you would need to hang around. I have no idea how long it will last.”
I know she feels guilty about leaving me, but it is okay because I knew she would be busy when I agreed to come with her.
“Breakfast before sounds good. I will try to find my way around while you are in your meeting.”
I will walk her to the office first. I don’t want to risk her being alone when she runs into her stupid ex. He better pray he doesn’t see me with her because I will not be held responsible for my actions after everything he put her through.
“Okay. Hopefully, my meeting won’t last too long. Once I am done, I can be your official tour guide. And I promise you will fall in love with Scotland in no time.” She says confidently.
I nod and smile, “I am sure I will.”
Skyla leads us to her bedroom, and we place our cases down.
“Are you joining me in the shower, or am I going alone? It will only be a quick one because I am ready for my bed.” She laughs.
“Yes, I will join. I promise to behave.”
I mean it. I usually don’t when we shower together, but I know she is too tired. I can manage to control myself for it.
Skyla playfully rolls her eyes and laughs. I smile sweetly at her. Skyla offers me her hand, which I take, and she leads us to the bathroom. She switches the shower on and lets it heat up as we strip down. I steal a glance at my girl, but I can’t help it; she is so damn beautiful.
She steps into the shower first, and I follow. I keep my hands to myself as we get showered. We are in and out in ten minutes. I wrap a towel around her before taking one for myself.
“Let’s get dried off, sweetheart and into bed,” I suggest.
Skyla nods, and we do exactly that. We are climbing into her bed in no time. She cuddles in straight away and falls asleep within a few minutes.
“Sweet dreams, angel,” I whisper and kiss the top of her head.
It has been a long day. I close my eyes and let sleep take over. I don’t think I will be far behind.

Skyla and I arrive outside the building where her editor works. We managed to have breakfast and coffee together beforehand. I have enjoyed seeing the city, even if it is just a little.
I reach for her, grab her hips and pull her body close to mine.
“Text me when you are done. I will come back to get you.”
“I shall, hopefully, I won’t be too long. Please try not to get lost. If you do, call me, okay? It doesn’t matter if I am busy.” She insists.
“I promise, but I am sure I can find my way around.”
I press my lips to her in a soft kiss, holding her close to me. Skyla smiles into the kiss, and she snakes her arms around my neck. I run my hands down her back and squeeze her ass—Skyla whimpers in response.
“Naughty,” she giggles as we part.
“You love it. I am making sure anyone around knows you are taken. You are mine.” I rasp and stroke her cheek.
She moans, closes her eyes and moves into my touch.
“Yours.” She whispers.
“And don’t you forget it?” I say firmly.
“Yes, sir. Now, stop distracting me. I have to head inside.” She laughs.
I peck her lips before letting her go. We say our goodbyes, and I slap her ass as she heads inside. Skyla glances over her shoulder at me, and I wink at her.
I wait for her to disappear before I turn to walk away. I still haven’t worked out what I want to do, but she has given me a key in case I just go back to the apartment.
I stand in the middle of the street and look around. A few women walk by and check me out, but I ignore them. I am not interested. I have my girl.
It takes me a moment, but I decide to grab a paper and find somewhere for another coffee. I hope to hang around, but if the meeting runs long, I will return to the apartment.
I want to take Skyla out for dinner tonight. I know she is worried about what will happen with us after this week is up, and I want to talk about it at dinner. I haven’t got an exact plan, but one thing I do know is we aren’t breaking up. We will work it out, even if it means me flying here every weekend, then that’s what I will do.
Yes, I know long distance doesn’t always work, but I am determined. I have become attached to Skyla. I need her in my life. I not only want her now but need her. The woman had no idea what she does to me. It takes a lot for a woman to make me become needy and smitten, but Skyla seemed to make that happen in a matter of weeks.
I should have known the second I met her she would be trouble for me. I didn’t think it would have happened as quickly, my feelings growing for her, yet here I am. She has turned me into a weak-assed man but in the best way possible. Skyla is different, unique and the type of woman I didn’t realise I needed.
