Chapter 78

***
Ace's POV:

"But for a moment, I got so scared. I was like, wait, who did she see that claimed to be Sheridan? I was so confused. Why didn't you tell me about the plan first," Heather asked. We were in my office and she was sitting on my lap.

"I'd improvised. And it turned out to be a success."

"I know right. Mom's traumatised. And her karma is just beginning. I'm still to give her more bad news."

"Really?"

"Yup. Yesterday I sent that copy of the sales of the company to the investor through an anonymous email. He is surely furious when he replied. Might call me and ask to speak to my mother."

"Ouch. She's gonna take that bad."

"Very bad. Well, I better get to my office now," She gave me a short kiss, " see you later my sweetheart. I just love you so much and," she caressed my face and stared into my eyes, "and it still feels like some sweet dream I don't wanna wake up from. My Sheridan," her eyes watered and I knew she wanted to cry. I hugged her tight.

"I love you too, Heather. You're the first reason I'm still alive. I could've died of hunger. I didn't because you were there."

We shared a long, slow and passionate kiss before she stood up from my lap and headed towards the door.

"Come and stay with me," the words left my mouth before I could think.
She stopped and turned to me.

"What?"

"Heather, I need you– I need you by my side at all times. Come and live with me, please," I begged. She looked at me and her eyes watered again.

"Please. With you by my side, I know I can accomplish anything."

Her eyed watered again and she smiled at me. My heart was beating so fast. I loved her very much and meant every single thing I'd said.

"Wow. I don't know what to say I didn't expect–"

"Please," I cut in.

She smiled and wiped her tears away.

"You know I'd love too."

I smiled at her.

"Thank you. I love you."

"I love you too, Sheridan," she smiled and left the office.

I felt like I was the happiest guy on earth.

**
Heather's POV:

I sat in my office daydreaming about a life with Sheridan. I just wanted him to succeed in this plan of his so we could be at peace. At peace to flaunt our love in the face of the world, without having to hide.
I loved him to a fault. If anything happened to him, it would affect me directly, in every possible way. He'd owned me. I was his.

I snapped out of my thoughts when my office phone rang. I picked the phone up.

"Hello. P.W. Heather welds, speaking."

"Yes, hello miss Welds, I would like to speak to Mrs Christina."

"This is?"

"Mr. Debroc."

The investor. He didn't sound happy.

"Sure, sir. Hold on while I let her know."

I stood up and went to her office. She'd stopped crying.

"Mom, you have a call on line four."

"From?"

"The investor."

"Okay."

In front of me she answered the call.

"Hello, Mr. De–" he cut her through. I could here him speak angrily, "What? How did y– No I– It"?'s a lie! It's a lie I assure y– Wait, no! But– yes. But I insist that–" she stopped talking and looked at the phone in disbelief.

"What?"

"He hung up," she said sadly dropping the phone.

"What's the problem?"

"He withdrew. He's stopped being an investor. Heather, I– I can't believe this."

I pretended to be sorry.

"I'm sorry, ma," I stared at her, "Mom, you would have to sell the company."

She looked at me.

"What??"

"You're not controlling anything anymore. I know it's hard. But think," I turned on my heel and left her office. I knew she would give up.

*
Ace's POV:

I was in my office watching Christina cry her lungs out after Heather left her office. Never had she been this broken. I smiled, satisfied. She was now disturbed in every possible way. Both financially and psychologically, especially after seeing 'Sheridan'.
I watched her wipe her tears and pick up the office phone to call Rob.

"Hello, Rob? Please come. Yes now! As fast as possible!" she hung up and sobbed.

Half an hour later, Rob entered her office.

"What's wrong, Christina??" he went to sit down.

She told him everything. From the robbery to the last investor. But the investor's story didn't catch his attention of course.

"SHERIDAN'S ALIVE??"

"Yes! Yes, Rob, yes! Elijah was right. He was!"

Rob became pale.

"Christina, I told you! Sell this company and let's go! Put it in the paper today! So by next week Wednesday or so, you must have found a buyer. We need to leave."

She stared at him with swollen eyes.

"You're right. I'll– I'll go to the press today and announce the company's sale."

Yes!

"That's the best thing to do," Rob said relieved.

Rob soon left and I decided to secretly follow him to where he lived. Once I knew his quarter and house, I returned to the office. So far, everything was fine. I knew just what to do.

That night, I sat and watched the 8:30 news with Keith. The sale of P.W industries was mentioned. She'd finally accepted. Keith and I chuckled.

"Now you know what to do, right?" I asked Keith.

"Yeah. When do I start?"

"Next week Monday."

We were Friday.

"Alright. I've already spoken with Christian. He's ready."

"Alright. Damn, everything's moving on smoothly. I'm glad."

"Me too. Gotta get what's yours back. I'll call Christina tomorrow."

"Okay. And I gotta tell you something."

"What?"

"Heather's moving in tomorrow."

His eyes widened.

"She's gonna live with you?"

"Yeah. I asked her to. And when we'll be ready, she'll live with me back at the crib."

"Wow. Happy for you man. Everything's getting positive for you."

"I know right. God's will. I have the opportunity to revenge without having to kill anyone or whatsoever."

"Yeah."

I smiled to myself. Things were getting better with each day. And, I was quite impatient for my love to move in.
