Chapter 84

***
Ace's POV:

As planned, that afternoon, we returned to the apartment. I called Keith who came over, happy to see us.
We sat down to discuss.

"What are your plans?" Keith asked.

"I'll call her. Sit back. Watch."

I picked the house phone and dialed Christina's number. Keith watched me. Her phone rang and in some minutes, she picked the call. I cleared my throat, using a deeper voice.

"Hello, Mrs Welds?" I said.

"Yes?"

"I'm Paul Henric. International businessman."

"Oh, hi sir. Can I help you?" she used a more polite tone. I smiled at Keith and he smiled back, shaking his head. The phone was on loudspeaker.

"Yes, you can. I would love to buy your company."

"Really??"

"Yes."

"Oh, this is wonderful."

"I will send my assistant to you tomorrow. To talk things out. Is that okay?"

"Yes! Yes. No problem."

"Okay, Mrs Welds. Good day."

"Same to you, sir."

I hung up and turned to Keith.

"Done. Now it's up to you to do  what you know."

"Count on me and Christian."

"Perfect."

Heather's POV:

I sat on Ace's bed, a glass of water in my hand. I took the belly worm medicine from my purse and drank them, hoping to feel better.
I suddenly received a call from Shirley, I picked it up.

"Hello, girl! What's up?"

"Well, I'm fine.."

"You don't sound very well, Heather. What's up?"

"I'm not really well, Shirl. I've been vomiting lately and eating a lot. Not to talk of sleeping. I bought myself some medicine, hoping it'll help."

Shirley was silent.

"Shirley?"

"Yes, hun."

"You're silent. What's wrong?"

She giggled a little.

"Um, no. Nothing. After work tomorrow, I'll come see you there. Okay?"

"Okay."

"I'll bring you a little present," she giggled again.

I smiled, confused.

"Uh okay."

"Good evening, lovely."

"Same to you."

Christina's POV:

I sat in my office Monday morning with a huge smile on my face, patiently waiting for Mr Paul's assistant. He was to arrive at nine. It was 9:10 already.

When there was a knock at my door, I quickly sat up smiling.

"Yes?"

Ryan sent only his head in.

"Good morning, boss."

"Yes Ryan?"

"Was on my way to the office when I met two men who want to see you."

"Two men?"

"Yes. One says he's a certain Mr Paul's assistant."

I almost jumped.

"Let him in!"

"Okay."

He opened the door for them. A handsome and young, blonde guy in a costly suit whom I found familiar, came in, followed by another handsome young man who seemed to be half Asian. Both were about twenty four.

"Good morning, gentlemen," I stood up smiling, and shook their hands, "Please sit down."

They did.

"Good to see you again, Mrs Christina," the familiar blonde one said with a smirk.

"I know you somewhere, right?"

"Yeah. Ace's friend you met at the beach. Keith."

"Oh! Yes. How are you?? You work for Mr Paul?"

"Yeah. A very busy man."

"I realised. And this is?" I turned to the handsome half Asian guy.

"I'm Christian. Mr Paul's lawyer."

"Wow. You're one young lawyer."

He smiled.

"I know."

"Let's talk business, please," Keith said.

"Alright."

"Is it the whole company you're selling?"

"Yes."

"Okay. The price please," he went straight to the point.

I smiled and told them millions they would have to pay. To my surprise, the price didn't shock them one bit.

"Okay. We want to advance 80% of the price. To secure our position."

My eyes widened.

"Eighty percent?"

"You're shocked?"

"Yes. I expected like ten percent."

Both men chuckled.

"You don't know who your dealing with," Keith said.

"Mr Paul's filthy rich," Christian added.

Wow. Who was that man?

"You have the money on you?"

"Yes. What did you expect."

Keith opened his briefcase full of shiny dollars. My mouth almost dropped wide open. Damn. Selling the company was easy.

"There's your eighty percent."

I was speechless.

Christian opened his briefcase and took out a document.

"All you have to do is sign this."

"What's that?"

"A document that proves that Mr Paul has secured his place as future owner of this company. You need to sign to confirm. Then Wednesday, we'll come with the remaining twenty percent. Mr Paul will be present to sign the ownership papers of this company, making him the sole proprietor."

"Deal. No problem."
I read the document and then signed,
"Done! See you Wednesday."

"Looking forward to that day," they both smiled and stood up.

"Goodbye, gentlemen."

"Goodbye."

They both left my office.

I looked at the millions in front of me. I couldn't believe it.

Yes!

I picked my phone to call Rob and tell him the good news.

*
Ace's POV:

I watched Christina rejoice in her office. I smiled. If only she knew.
A few minutes later, Keith and Christian came into my office, smiling.

"That was a great job!" I stood up smiling.

"What can we say? We're the best," Keith chuckled. I hugged both of them laughing.

"That witch is gonna regret it," Christian added with a laugh.

"Yup. Thank you so much, guys. Can't wait for Wednesday. I want all of y'all to be present on that special day. All of you who helped me."

"We will be there," Christian said.

"Can't wait to see her face."

*
Heather's POV:

I sat, munching cinnamon biscuits in my office. I was glad. Ace had told me about his successful plan. Everything was coming to an end.
I smiled to myself. My dad and uncle Paul would be avenged.

*
That night, while three of us watched a movie in Ace's apartment, someone rang the doorbell. I went to open. Shirley. We hugged happily.

"I missed you so much."

"Me too!"

I let her in and we went to the living room.

"Hi guys!" she said happily.

"Hi, Shirl," Ace smiled.

"Hey, Shirl," Keith smiled too.

I smiled at Shirley.

"Cmon, where's my gift?" I asked.

"Let's go to another room."

"Okay."

I pulled her all the way to Ace's room. She sat on the bed but I didn't.

"So?" I asked excitedly.

She smiled and took an object out of her bag.

"Here."

I took it. My eyes widened when I saw it. I panicked and automatically threw it on the floor.

"What's that??" I asked, confused and slightly shocked.

"You know what it is. A pregnancy test kit," she giggled like everything was alright.

"I know! But why the fuck are you giving it to me??"
