Chapter 79
***
Heather's POV:
That night, Shirley had helped me pack. I'd told her about moving in with Sheridan and she had been happy for me.
"But how will I see you now?" was the only thing she complained about.
"You can come over to his place at anytime, honey. Plus, from time to time I'll be having sleepovers at your place. Deal?"
"Deal!"
We giggled and hugged each other.
It was easy to pack because I'd only moved into that apartment with bedsheets, my belongings and kitchen utensils. I would sell the apartment off to someone else.
That night I slept peacefully. Sheridan was gonna come pick me up the next morning.
*
Morning soon reached. I took a shower then Shirley and I had breakfast. At ten, Ace knocked at my door. I ran to open it.
"Good morning, princess," he opened his arms and I ran into them, hugging him and inhaling his sweet perfume.
"Good morning my prince," I kissed his cheek and let him in.
"Hi Ace," Shirley smiled.
"What's up, Shirl? Hope you're not too angry that I'm taking your friend away."
"I am. But I just adore you both as a couple and so I'll spare you," she joked and we laughed, "But I'll be visiting often. Very often. Heather isn't just a friend. She's more like the sister I never had."
"I know. You can come when you want."
"Good."
I smiled at him and he smiled back.
"Now where are your bags so I take them to the car."
"Over here, baby."
We helped him carry the things down to the car and soon we were done.
I told Shirley goodbye and we drove off.
"I'm so excited," I said happily.
"Me too. Since it's Saturday, I have something in mind."
"What?"
"Let's go drop your things off at my apartment, you get your toothbrush, spare clothes and personal belongings, I want us to spend a night at the Manson."
"Oh! The house uncle victor gave you?"
"Yeah."
"That'll be great!" I smiled.
"Yeah."
"Strike stays there?"
"Oh no. He could not stay alone and plus, dogs are not accepted in the apartments and building as a whole, I had to give him to Max. He's taken care of there. Once I get back to the crib, I'll take him back."
"Oh okay. Can't wait!"
When we got to his apartment, we did as planned. We got a few things for a night.
"Take a bikini along. There's a pool there."
"Oki doki."
*
We reached the big house and my eyes popped out. It was bigger than the house my mother lived in. I knew that day was gonna be great.
We got into the house and settled. I went to kitchen and prepared something delicious for both of us to eat. We sat in the living room and ate while we discussed.
"So have you any plans on how you're gonna buy the company? Christina will be surprised to know that you want to buy it."
"Who said she'll know? Just wait and see what happens princess."
"If you say so, baby."
We ate and watched movies together.
Ace's POV:
She sat at one end of the couch while I lay with my head on her lap. We were so at peace. So comfortable. Thing's were almost perfect. All I needed to do was to avenge my father's death and uncle Ken's death. And I would.
We watched a movie together in total silence. It was really interesting. Heather was munching on Lickerish.
"Baby girl, we just ate and you're already munching?" I asked amused.
"Just let me be, okay? I don't know but my appetite has increased for the past days now. I easily get hungry."
"Seriously?"
Heather was someone who did not eat very much.
"Yeah. I'm always hungry recently," she laughed.
"Maybe you've got belly worms or something."
"I hope not."
We continued watching the movie. Throughout, she would run her fingers through my hair, caressing softly and making me sleepy.
I yawned and she giggled.
"Tired?"
"Sort of. Sleepy instead."
"My fault?"
"Yeah."
She smiled and lowered herself so she could kiss me. We kissed nice and slow, taking all our time. We belonged to each other. We had from the start.
Everything was fine until she broke the kiss all of a sudden, her eyes wide and her face red.
"What's wrong?" I asked, confused.
She didn't answer but put a hand over her mouth, suddenly agitated. She motioned for me to sit up. I did and turned to her.
"Heather, what's–" before I could complete my sentence, she stood up and sped up the stairs without a word. What was wrong?
"Heather??" I stood and ran after her.
I followed her into the bedroom and straight to the toilets. I watched her kneel in front of the toilet seat and throw up.
"Oh my god!" I exclaimed and walked up to her, holding her hair up into a ponytail so they wouldn't get in her way.
I looked away as she threw up. She vomited every single thing she'd eaten that morning. I was very worried. What was wrong with her She threw up for a long time. When she finally stopped, she sat on the floor trying to regain her breath. I knelt close to her.
"Baby, what's wrong?" I asked, holding his face. She shook her head and smiled awkwardly.
"You were right. I ate a lil too much this morning. Bad food mix."
"Damn, you scared me," I stood up and helped her up too. She walked to the sink, rinsed her mouth and washed her face. I stared at her, very worried. She looked at me in the mirror in front of her.
"Sweety, it was nothing. Please, don't make a whole story."
"Are you sure you're alright?"
She turned to me.
"Yeah. But I think I'll take some aspirin. I've got a little headache."
"Okay. Let me go to the pharmacy to get you some."
"Let me come with you. Please."
"I think you need to rest."
"Baby please," she pouted at me.
Couldn't say no to those eyes.
"Fine. But you'll stay in the car while I go buy some."
"Yay!" she jumped happily.
"Heather, don't jump like that. You want me to have a heart attack or what? You can jump after the aspirin."
She laughed.
"Sheridan honey, I'm fine. Just headache. I'm not a baby," she giggled.
"Uh yes, you are. My baby. Come on," I held her hand and we left the room.
I got my wallet and car keys and soon we left for a pharmacy.
