Chapter 33

Frank POV

The buzzing sound of my alarm blared in my ears, jolting me awake. I glanced at the dock-shaped alarm clock and exclaimed hoarsely, "Oh my goddess of liberty! It's already 5:46 AM!" I had planned to visit Laura's apartment by 5:00 AM, but I was running behind schedule.

"What! It's too early, alpha," my wolf, Mufasa, muttered in a sleepy tone. But his words brought a surge of joy, and my heart skipped a beat. It was a sign that my inner wolf was on board with my plan, and that gave me the motivation I needed to get moving.

I leaped out of bed, my heart racing with excitement. Today was the day I would finally take my mate, Laura, out to explore the city and its unique architectural salvage yard. But my enthusiasm was met with a grumble from my wolf, Mufasa. "Frank, it's too early," he muttered again, his tone laced with a hint of sarcasm.

I felt a pang of childishness wash over me. My wolf's words brought me back to the present, and I realized that I was perhaps moving too fast. But I couldn't help it, I was eager to share this experience with Laura and show her the beauty of our world.

"Come on, Mufasa," I said, trying to placate my wolf. "It'll be fun, I promise. And Laura will love it."

Mufasa snorted, but I could sense his curiosity piqued. He knew that I wouldn't back down and that we would indeed be going on this adventure, no matter how early it was.

"My haste potion, a symbol of my inadequacy, is something I'm eager to cast aside for Laura, my fated mate who has rejected me countless times, tarnishing my reputation as Alpha of my pack.

Standing before the mirror, I attempted to tame my unruly hair with a small comb, striving for a semblance of order. But when I breathed onto my palm to check my breath, the pungent aroma assaulted my senses, making my eyes water. "Gosh, my mouth smells awful!" I exclaimed, realizing I needed to find a remedy for my bad breath before our encounter.

Despite my excitement, nervousness gnawed at me. I hoped that my efforts to impress Laura would finally pay off, and she would see me in a new light. Little did I know, this day would be one to remember."

"I rushed to the bathroom, stepping into the bathtub with a swift and gentle motion. I turned the faucet, mixing hot and cold water for a refreshing bath. As the water cascaded down, I felt a sudden chill run through my body, and my eyes closed involuntarily. Thoughts of Laura flooded my mind, and I imagined her joining me in the bathroom.

But then, a cold breeze swept in, like the turning on of an air conditioner. I felt fingers tracing my skin, the nails long and sharp. My eyes snapped open, and I almost flinched, soap suds covering my face. And that's when I saw her - Clara!"

"Clara!" I exclaimed, my heart racing with surprise. "What are you doing here?"

She smiled mischievously, her eyes gleaming with a knowing glint. "I could ask you the same thing, Frank," she said, her voice low and husky but this is actually your house, oops… Maybe I wasn't sure of my movement. "

"A shiver ran down my spine as Clara took a step closer, her fingers still tracing patterns on my skin. I hastily grabbed a towel to cover my nakedness, feeling a surge of discomfort and vulnerability. I quickly ushered her out of the bathroom, shutting the door behind her.

"Frank, open the door! I want to take a shower!" she screamed, her voice muffled by the door. But I remained firm, refusing to give in to her demands.

"Get out of my room, Clara!" I growled, my anger rising. "What are you doing in a man's room at this hour? Leave, now!" I banged on the door, trying to intimidate her into leaving.

But Clara was not one to be easily deterred. She continued to pound on the door, her screams growing louder and more insistent. I knew I had to think fast or risk her causing a scene that would attract the entire pack's attention."

I took a deep breath and tried to think of a way to calm Clara down. I knew she was trouble, but I also knew that I couldn't let her disrupt the entire pack. I decided to try to reason with her.

"Clara, stop yelling and listen to me," I said firmly, but calmly. "You can't just barge into my room like this. It's not acceptable behavior."

There was a moment of silence, and then Clara's voice came through the door, softer but still menacing. "Fine, Frank. But I'm not leaving until we settle this. You owe me an explanation."

I sighed and rubbed my temples. This was not going well. But I knew I had to deal with Clara, once and for all.

"Okay, Clara. I'll come out and talk to you. But you have to promise to calm down and behave."

There was another pause, and then Clara's voice came through the door again. "I promise, Frank. I'll be good."

I hesitated for a moment, wondering if I could trust her. But I knew I had to try. I opened the door, and Clara was standing there, her eyes still flashing with anger, but her face composed.

"I'm going out, and I don't want to discuss anything with you," I said firmly, trying to push past her.

But Clara obstructed my path, her hands tracing the contours of my chest. "Oh, Frank," she purred, her voice husky and seductive. "You're so stubborn. But I love that about you."

Her fingers danced across my skin, sending shivers down my spine. I tried to push her away, but she was relentless, her touch igniting a fire within me.

"Clara, stop," I growled, my resolve weakening. But she just laughed, her eyes gleaming with mischief. "Oh, Frank. You know you don't mean that."

And with that, she leaned in, her lips brushing against mine in a soft, tantalizing kiss. I felt my defenses crumbling, my resistance melting away like ice in the sun.
