CHAPTER 21

It was like there are lots of rats were chasing inside my chest. While looking at the bidding result on the monitor here in a room. I can hardly breathe on, cuz of nervous. Steady, increase, in the bidding amount. Even the other girls with me feels the same way now. Can See on our faces. Here we are, the ten girls, watching the monitor. I can still hear the other girls praying. Sometimes they stand, then seat and sometimes they walk here and there. And I understand their feelings because we are just have the same feelings. We are all in need of money, for different reasons.
We both wore fancy and elegant night wear of different styles. That suits us. We'll wear masks. I looked again at my photo and the amount below in it. And I was shocked because what the gay man said before was right. Competing in increasing the amount.
That's also where my attention is focused. Until that stopped moving. That means someone has already gotten me. The gay man approached me with a smile.
"Congrats girl, you got the highest bid huh, and you were the number one in it, among all. I told you, the bidder will fight for you, See? Not only ten people who lined up for you. But fifteen more. You are a bad girl, you have very long hair. Anyways, be ready, because in a moment someone will pick you up here to take you to bidder.
Anyways the payment will be transferred to your account and is also being processed now. It's good that you have your bank card. So how are you? " Smiling the gay said to me.
"I'm so proud of you darling, your sister is very lucky with you. Imagine? You are here now for her,  only people like you here are rare.
Like all of you, so use the remaining values to change your life. I know you have all of the heavy reasons why you are here now. And I hope I have helped you, even just this way. And I hope I will not see you here again. But I'm still hoping we will meet again outside." He told us passionately.
We just cried at what he told us. He just finished talking when there was a knock on the door. But before he could open it he would whisper to us.
"Girls always remember my instructions to you. And don't talk to them. Take care." He said.
I heard what the man said outside the door. BLACK LAVENDER. That is my code name, the name that they gave me. They picked me up. I gave my companions a glimpse and a frugal smile. Before I even left, they did the same to me and they whispered cautiously. I thank them.
Outside, the staff is already waiting for me, he's going to take me to my client. Where I will serve him the whole night. I was very nervous but there was nothing I could do. My decision was final. And there is no need to delay. It's a matter of life and death. For her, I can do anything. I love her so much, and she's the only one I have for me.
*****
I WAS so happy because it was worth what I did. Because my sister's operation was successful. And she is doing well now. I'm still pretty big. Although I spent a lot on my sister's hospitalization.
She only stayed there for a week before she was discharged. And I am very thankful that she is in good shape. It seems like she didn't undergo an operation in the first place. She became lively again.
OUR neighbors immediately greeted us when we arrived, and what they did really touched us. There was a short table with foods outside our house, and a banner hung written "WELCOME HOME SHAINA"
My sister and I cried for joy. "Thank you so much for all of this, thank you." My sister said tearfully.
One by one our neighbors approached her and hugged her. "Shaina we are just happy and thankful that you are ok now. And please accept and be patient for this little one we have prepared for you, we all hope you'll like this." Another of our female neighbors said.
"Thank you very much. In fact, this really has been a great help to us." I sincerely thank them.
"Oh Shakeera, little thing." Another young woman said. "We are also involved in consuming these foods, nuh! If You two only can't finish all of this. As if, this is food for you, but the truth is, this is really for us. Just pretending you know." She said it while still laughing. We laughed too.
"All right then, we'll just put our belongings inside so we can all eat already." I was laughing too when I said it to them.
"Hey! Thank God, at last! I already heard those words, I've been waiting and wanting to hear that before." She said again, she was quite young.
"Really greedy!" I heard the man next to her say. And even hit her. "Ouch!" She said and complained.
*****
I WAS fainting from nausea one morning when I woke up. It was like digging into my stomach. I vomited, but nothing came out.
"Ate what happened to you? Are you feeling anything? Are you feeling bad?" My sister asked me and she is so worried.
"I didn't even know Ina, when I woke up I suddenly felt nauseous. I suddenly felt worse, I was weakening." I said to Ina while still nauseous.
"Ate, you better go to the doctor to check you up, to know what it is. I'll go with you. After breakfast, we'll go to the hospital." Her face was still full of concern as she caressed my back.
I smiled at her, "I'm fine, don't worry, maybe I just ate something that made my stomach upset. Or maybe it's just a cold. But so that you don't have to worry, I'll go for a check up later, ok?"
I smiled at her.
She nodded at me, and even handed me the face towel, and wiped on my face and mouth.
" CONGRATS Miss Alcantara you're nine weeks pregnant." The doctor told me and she smiled at me.
I was shocked, I was still stunned when I heard that I was pregnant.
"I'm pregnant." I said softly. I still can't believe it.
"Yes Miss Alcantara." She said and she told me a lot more but it never sank into my mind.
'I'm pregnant' in my mind. That night paid off. I was caught in my stomach ache. I was also prescribed the vitamins and milk I was going to take. And she also said what should and should not be eaten.
I also saw the shock on my sister's face. And the inquiring eyes. We said goodbye to the doctor and thanked her before we left. I also bought the ones that the doctor prescribed. My sister is still quiet.
"ATE?" She called me when we got home. I smiled at her, and I told her all about how I got here. At first she cried and blamed herself but I explained to her. "Ina don't cry, and don't blame yourself please, this is a blessing for us. Don't you want us to have someone new with us? Just help me to take care of him. Is that OK?" I told her as she hugged me. "I'm sorry Ate, promise I will help you taking care of the baby, I love you Ate." She said,
"I love you too, Ina."
BUT before my stomach grew, we both decided to leave and move to another place. I also left my place of work because my pregnancy became difficult and risky. The money I had left was what we used. And Shaina always supported me until I gave birth. To A healthy and very cute baby boy. And I even named him after his father's tattoo, Shawn Arch Alcantara.
