Chapter 10.
**Tessa’s POV**
The night was absolutely beautiful; I was in a fancy restaurant with an extremely gorgeous man and food that did not taste like left overs- not that the usual food I ate was bad, but eating this just hit differently, it was a step away from my normal meals and I loved it.
We had finished eating our main course a long time ago and now, we awaited desert, Alex had told me it was a surprise, even being cliché looked stunning on him.
The night was still young though, it was barely after ten and he had told me that he still had a lot planned out for us after this dinner, he said it was better but really, what could’ve possibly been better than this?
“Tessa, where you listening to anything I was saying?”, his face shot up in front of me and I nearly fell out of my seat,
“I am sorry”, I said sheepishly as I tried to hide my pink cheeks, “What did you say?”, it was no surprise to me that I blushed, it had been happening a lot lately and I hated it; blushing was like a visual reflection of your emotions. It did not care about showing itself at the wrong time, it just wanted to make itself known- it was a selfish little thing.
“I didn’t actually say anything, I just saw that your attention was elsewhere, am I that boring?”, I couldn’t tell if he was joking or not, he had a smirk etched unto his lips but his eyes contradicted his cocky lips,
“No”, I waved it off quickly, “I was just thinking”, my head faced down to my lap as I played with the handkerchief, I had placed on it,
“I’d pay a thousand dollars for it?”, he sat back down and crossed his arms over his chest, his smirk never leaving his face.
“As tempting as that offer sounds, I would pass up on it. You seriously do not want to know what I was thinking”, I shrugged and tried to relax my tensed up muscles,
“Hmm”, he hummed, “I wonder why”, the smirk on his face became wider, the bastard knew I was thinking about him and it was feeding his whale sized ego. His eyes no longer had the dull look it had a few seconds ago; it was now glistening with mischief and pride.
Maybe lying to him would’ve been better than not telling him at all, that way, I would be able to deny having any thoughts about him and I would’ve also been able to stop the Goddamn blush crawling up my fucking cheeks.
Before I could come to my defense, the waiter showed up with a cart in tow, “Your desserts are here”, the waiter had an oddly thick French accent, just like most of the staff that worked here; I could seriously not tell whether it was fake or factual. Maybe most of the workers were actually somewhat French, their accents sounded too good to not be.
He placed the dessert tray in the middle of the table and announced, “Crème brulee and crepe cake”, the deliciousness of the treats wafted through the air and my mouth watered, they smelled so good. I couldn’t hope more that they tasted as good as the smelled, that would be a complete bonus.
“Dig in”, Alex had said once the waiter left, he did not have to tell me twice. I immediately took a slice out of the crepe cake and stuffed a piece into my mouth, it tasted absolutely delicious and I could not hold back the moan that escaped my lips. I quickly looked up embarrassed to see that Alex had been staring at me the whole time, my cheeks heated up for the thousandth time that night,
“I take it that you’re enjoying it very much”, he let out a low chuckle and I smiled, how could laughter sound so good? Like it or not, I sound like a dolphin giving birth to a whale whenever I laugh, it was one of my many flaws. I nodded my head and took another bite of the cake, “You should really take that with the crème brulee, it is absolutely delightful”, he suggested as he placed his own dessert in front of him.
“That was wonderful”, I exclaimed as we got into the limo that was parked conveniently at the parking lot. The extremely long vehicle had taken up two spaces on the lot.
“Well, wait till you see what else I have planned”, surprisingly, his arm went around my shoulder and he squeezed my arm gently, “Brogue, to the club”,
“Club?”, I panicked a little, “I am too young, I will never get in”, why would he take me to a club when I was clearly underaged? Was he planning on ditching me tonight? Maybe he was getting bored or tired of my presence- not that I was surprised, I had always had the tendency to get boring after a while.
“You do not have to worry about that beautiful”, he smiled and placed a slow, sensual kiss on my temple, “I am Alex O’Connell, I can get whoever I want into wherever I want”, he was so close, I could feel his warm breath on my neck, it shot hot tingles down my spine and it went straight to my core. Damn it!
About fifteen minutes later, the limo stopped at what seemed to be an upscale lounge, it was different from the clubs my friends in high school used to sneak into- very different. Unlike those ones, this looked like it was solely for the rich and the rich only, the red carpet that led into the club alone screamed ‘wealth’. The building was bigger than the usual clubs and instead of hard rock playing from the inside, I could hear jazz- probably a live band.
This time, Alex allowed the chauffer, Brogue, open the door for us and we stepped out and unto the red carpet that had a line of people waiting to get in. Clearly, Alex was not fit to wait in line as he held my hand and took me to the front where the two massive bouncers stood, making sure that people were eligible to step foot into the building.
“Tony, Kyle”, apparently, he was on a first name bases with these two husky men,
“Ahh”, one of them said, “Mr. O’Connell, it is good to see you”, his eyes then darted down to me and they lightened up, “Oh, I see you’re not alone, hey, little lady”, he smiled and I smiled as well. He was nothing like he looked- his attitude was different, not scary unlike his features. He seemed really sweet but I could tell he could be very unsweet when he wanted to be.
“Hi”, hopefully, he would not sniff out my actual age and embarrass me in front of all these people.
“Welcome to Forbed Lounge”, the other guy said and removed the velvet rope from the entrance. What? I was surprised that they didn’t even bother asking me for my age or identification card.
“That easy”, I whispered to myself, unaware that Alex had heard me,
“Perks of being my girlfriend”, he teased. I took an abrupt stop, and my head darted towards him, my brain clearly confused as it tried to digest what he had just said, girlfriend? Did he just call me his girlfriend?
