Chapter 37.
**Narrator’s POV.**
“What the fuck do you mean by ‘your credit card was declined’?”, Gabriel growled at the woman who at the counter,
“I am sorry sir but I don’t know, it said declined”, the woman said meekly, “Maybe I should try it again?”, she suggested and Gabriel tossed his card at her rudely- he hated airports a lot which was why he preferred using the private jet his father owned, it saved a lot of time and stress but he knew for a fact that he could not use it right then.
“It was declined again, sir”, a series of curse words left Gabriel’s mouth as he grabbed his phone and passport off the counter before collecting the card from the airport ticketer. He stormed his way over to his brothers who were sitting at one of the waiting areas,
“Can you believe that bastard? He fucking cut us off, the company credit card is useless”, Gabriel lamented as he snapped the card into two and threw it into the nearest bin, “Fuck him”,
“I expected him to do something as petty as that”, Kevin rolled his eyes, sounding unbothered, “He wants us to come crawling but to him not knowing that we all have our own money”, the three step-brother’s smirked in unison and brought out all their credit cards.
“Damn, I really wanted to use that bastards money”, Alex snapped his fingers and stood up from the seats, “Now we’ll have to ride economy”, they all shuddered at the thought of flying in anything but first class in a commercial plane, “Come on guys, we still have a lot of travelling to do, we can’t be wasting money like that”, he pointed out,
Gabriel looked genuinely taking aback, “You…”, he pointed at Alex, “Worried about saving money?”,
“I wouldn’t usually care but its my hard-earned money that we’re talking about, money that I actually had to work for”, he shrugged, “I use the company card for luxury like my car”,
“You bought your car with the company card?”, Gabriel asked, narrowing his eyebrows at him,
“Like you didn’t”, he accused back, “I mean, I can afford a fucking jet with my own money but I choose not to do that. Plus, spending our father’s money on stupidly expensive things is payback for him being such an asshole”, he explained.
Kevin stood up as well and adjusted the shades he had on as a disguise from fans who could be lurking around, “If we are entering economy, I will be needing more than just shades, I need a face hat and a fucking hoodie”,
“Damn, I forgot you were like a celebrity”, Alex said,
“I am a celebrity dumbass”, he declared, “Can you two get the tickets? I need to get said things at a store”,
“Don’t you have them in your bag?”, Gabriel asked, joining the other two men on their feet,
“Those are expensive, I need to look as basic as possible if I’m riding economy, I’ll advice you both to do the same”, he pointed out, looking at the snappy suits they had on, “You look far from basic”.
“Fine, get us something that isn’t basic. You know what?”, Gabriel paused for a second, “I’ll get the tickets and you both get the clothes”, he was about to leave when Alex stopped him,
“I think I should do the ticket buying”, he suggested, “Knowing you, you’ve probably scared the hell out of the poor lady who was just trying to do her job”, he got a skeptical look from Gabriel, “I will handle this”, he pressed,
Gabriel let out a sigh and groaned loudly, “Fine”.

Almost thirty minutes later, the brother-s were once again united, “Were the fuck were you both?”, Alex practically screamed at Gabriel and Kevin who gave him a sheepish look. Alex had been waiting for them for nearly twenty minute and whenever he tried to call, their phones went straight to voice mail,
“We may have gotten a little bit carried away”, Gabriel said, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand,
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?”, he asked them, raising up an eyebrow,
“It means that we ended up going overboard after seeing the low prices on quality outfits and…”, Kevin covered his face playfully which showed that underneath his broody attitude, he was still the last child of three.
“And?”,
“We ended up with five new suitcases of clothes”, Kevin finished quickly making Alex’s eyes nearly pop out of their sockets,
“What part of ‘saving money’ does the both of you not understand?”, his voice had raised an octave higher,
“Relax, we only spent about a thousand dollars- we usually spend that on half an outfit”, Gabriel said, rolling his eyes. To him, Alex was being a little but overdramatic with this whole saving thing, it was really new to all of them so he couldn’t figure out why Alex was being so touchy about it,
“A thousand dollars?”, Alex questioned, “A ‘basic’ person doesn’t spend a thousand dollars in a day”, he pointed out and sighed, “I should seize both your cards but you have phones so that would be pointless”.
“Exactly”, Kevin smirked and handed him a shopping bag, “You own two of the boxes but this is what we got you to travel with”, Alex looked inside the bag and nodded,
“I will be back soon; can you check our things in? Our flight leaves in an hour”, he handed Gabriel the three economy tickets and went to the nearest bathroom to change. Once done, he met up with the other two men who were waiting in line for the security check and before they knew it, they were in a plane heading to Illinois- on their part, it was the most uncomfortable trip they had ever on.
