Chapter 7.

**Narrator’s POV.**

“Okay, so if you could have anything on earth right now, what would it be?”, Tessa asked, tucking her legs under her chin, she had removed her shoes for the sole purpose of not getting dirt all over his expensive car seat,

“Well, considering I have almost everything on earth, I would probably say you, in a sexy tight red dress”, he looked away from the road for a second to look at her expression. Her cheeks were stained red and she gave him a shy smile, “You have a little red”, he took a hand off the steering wheel and placed it on her hot cheek, “Here”,

“Let’s stop at McDonalds”, she turned away from him quickly and faced the other side, trying to change the subject or trying to restrain herself from jumping his bones when they were in the middle of the road in a convertible vehicle, were the whole world could see just how pathetic and desperate she was.

“McDonalds it is”, he placed a smirk on his lips and drove them to the nearest said eatery, “Eat in or take out?”,

“We can go order through the drive thru”, she suggested, taking a glimpse at him, she did not want to seem rude by not looking at him while talking to him,

“Take out it is, but you’ll have to feed me”, he shrugged, pulling up behind a short line of cars.

Another blush creeped up her already pink stained cheeks, “On second thought, we could just…”,

“Too late”, a car pulled up behind them, blocking the exit, “Besides, you would enjoy feeding me, do you know how many girls would kill to be in your position?”, he joked,

“I am surprised many girls haven’t been in my position”, she said sarcastically and pushed herself further into the seat,

“You’re lucky, I guess”, he chuckled and moved the car forward, “What the fuck is taking them so long?”, his hand hit his horn harshly as he urged the other drivers to move along. The sudden sound startled Tessa and she almost flew out of the convertible vehicle.

“Jesus Christ, Alex”, she placed her hand on her chest to calm her pounding heart, “Be patient, its not their fault”,

“Sorry”, he sighed, “I don’t usually use drive thrus, neither do I eat at places like McDonalds”, he admitted sheepishly, as if it was not already obvious, Alex was never one to go to cheap fast food restaurants like McDonalds, he was more of an expensive restaurant kind of guy, “But, I do order pizza from Dominos”, he added quickly,

“It’s fine, just like you, I never eat in restaurants that are expensive”, she shrugged with a small smile,

“Well, we might have to change that, next week, Friday night?”, her ears perked up, had he just asked her out on a date? She could not hold her blush in or the line of giggles that came after,

“Are you asking me on a date?”, she had to ask, just to be sure on what this actually was, she did not want to get her hopes up and go overboard with the whole thing,

“Yes, it’s a date”, he shinned his pearly whites in her face and she nearly melted, how could teeth be so white? So clean and so perfect?

“Welcome to McDonalds, can I take your order?”, the girl at the drive thru said, she had visibly straightened up once she got a glimpse of the man in front of her. Tessa felt threatened, the girl was extremely beautiful- creamy skin, ocean blue eyes and blonde shoulder length hair, she reminded her of the bossy cheerleaders she had at her old school. Although she shared similar features like blonde hair and blue eyes with those girls, she could never just fit into their crowd.

“Yes”, he smiled at the girl then turned to Tessa, “Babe, what would you like?”, did he just call her babe? She was starstruck, no one had ever referred to her as ‘babe’ before and coming from Alex, it meant so much, “Tess?”, he shook her out of her trance,

“Yes!”, she nearly jumped out of her seat for the second time that night, “I will have a McRib and McFries, double the ketchup. Also, I’ll have an Iced Caramel Latte”, she ordered,

“Coffee at night? I like your style”, he smirked at her, “I’ll have the same thing”.

“Are you sure?”, she raised up an eyebrow at his request,

“Quite sure”. Their order was brought to the quickly and they were on the road once again, “Could you feed me a fry?”, he opened his mouth for her to place the deliciousness into it, “Hmm”, he moaned, “This actually tastes good”,

“It does, doesn’t it?”, there was silence for a while- comfortable silence, Alex’s eyes were glued on the road in front of him while Tessa just stared at him as she picked on her fries.

“What about you?”, he asked out of the blues, his sudden question made her confused,

“What?”,

“What about you? If you could have anything on earth right now, what would it be?”, he looked at her quickly and went back to the road. After a few seconds silence, she answered,

“My dad”, she placed her sandwich on her lap, “If I could have one thing on earth, it would be my dad”, she repeated, “I miss him a lot”, she smiled sadly and picked it back up,

“He misses you too”, he removed one hand from the steering wheel and grabbed her hand, rubbing slow and soothing circles on it, “But, you did not answer my question”, he said gently,

“Yeah, I figured. Its not really valid since he’s no longer on earth”, she chuckled at her own dark joke and let him hold her hand in his big one, it calmed her in ways she could not imagine, him holding her hand made her feel so safe. “If I could have one thing on earth, it would be a dog. I just want someone or something that can keep me accompanied, you know?”,

“You have me”, he squeezed her hand slightly and gave her a smirk, “You don’t need a dog”.

“Fine”, she looked at the other side and realized they were not on the route to the estate, “Where are we going?”,

“If I wanted to be cliché, I’d tell you it’s a surprise but I’m not, we are going to the park, its just around the corner”, he shrugged. She was happy that even if he seemed extremely romantic, he was not cliché. A normal guy would have told her to close her eyes or that it was a surprise, he was not like that.

“A late night picnic at the park? I like your style”, she repeated what he had said to her just a few minutes before. He stopped at the parking lot of the central park and turned the engine off, he quickly got out of the car and rushed over to her side before she could come down, he opened the door and took their fast food from her, helping her out of the car- not that she could not do it herself, he was just being a gentleman.

“I’ll be back in a second”, he went back to his seat and pushed a button to close his rooftop. Once completely closed, he went to the trunk and pulled out two blankets before going back to Tessa,

“If you weren’t so you, I’d say you actually had this whole thing planned out”, she commented when she noticed the blankets,

“Well, I am me so I already had this in my car”, he said while balancing the food and blankets in his hand,

“Are you sure you don’t need help with that?”, it was quite obvious that he was finding it hard to carry all the things in both hands so when he placed them on one hand just so he could hold her hand, she was really surprised,

“No, its fine”, maybe he did not want to scratch his gigantic male ego? After all, the things he was holding weren’t even much or heavy, he just probably wasn’t used to carrying things, other than girls he wanted to sleep with.
