Flirting?
Rae’s POV
“What are you doing?” he asked me, in a voice so hoarse that I felt I could melt right away. What was going on? Wasn’t I afraid, just seconds ago? But he is so… I don't even know. I don’t know anything… “Answer me, Rae.”
“I-I’m sorry.” I managed to say. Yes, I remember now. I spoiled his fun. “I didn’t know you were there, Alpha.”
He was inhaling deeply and.. wait, is he sniffing me? Oh, no! I am feeling attracted to him and he is going to smell it. It is so shameful! Will he get mad with me, for daring to feel like this?
“Your smell is delicious.” He said, his face inside my hair and, soon, I could feel his hot breath on the back of my neck.
“A-alpha… I…” What should I say? “I didn’t want to ruin your moment…”
He groaned and I trembled. His hand was holding my waist and I swallowed hard with the mix of feelings inside my heart. I didn’t know what to feel anymore. He didn’t seem too mad. He seemed to be enjoying this proximity with me. Was he punishing me? Punishing me for being in the wrong place at the wrong time? He couldn’t possibly be really liking it. But he said he liked my smile…
Suddenly, he turned me around and before I could say anything, I felt something warm and soft on my lips. He was kissing me! I heard a moan and then, I realized it was mine.
As fast as it started, it was over. He had his head on my neck, breathing hard, as if trying to control himself.
“You better go now, Rae.” He said, not looking at me. “Go now or I’ll ravish you.”
The way he sounded made my whole body ache for something I didn’t understand. I was afraid, but I wanted him to ravish me. I was probably getting crazy. I stumbled my way out, because my legs were like jelly. I don’t even know how I managed to go down the stairs. Lucky me, the kitchen was empty and I could go to my room for a few minutes. I needed to be alone for a moment.
I didn’t have a clock on my room, but I had an idea of how much time I spent there. Enough to calm myself down. I had never felt any kind of attraction to any male, and I knew that Alpha Erik was dangerous the moment he touched my hair, when we first met. But back there, he didn’t even look at me, aside from my eyes. I saw how he looked at me, as if I was a freak.
His scent remained in my memory, giving me good and bad feelings. After we went to that ice cream store, and he kind of saved me from being hit by a car, the warmth of his touch became something I wished for. The problem was that he clearly didn’t like me and I knew that I’d probably feel him again if he was to punish me. But now… The way he was so close to me made me wonder…
“Are you alright, dear?” Cassandra’s voice took me out of my fantasy world and I had to look at her, offering a smile.
I shook my head negatively, so she knew I was fine.
“Okay. If you need anything…” She had a worried look on her face, but I just tapped her shoulder and passed by her, going to the back of the pack house. I was now going to take care of the laundry.
I didn’t see time passing. I did clean the backyard near the house, because the pack was obviously too big for me to clean by myself. After that, I folded the clothes that were to be washed. I separated everything by type and the rooms it should go to.
“Wow! This is a very organized girl!” Aaron said behind me. I turned around and greeted him with a smile. He had his hands inside his pants pockets. “Erik is looking for you.”
He said it while looking at one of the sheets and then, looking at me. He had a strange look on his face that I couldn’t read. It was confusing. Not exactly that, at least.
I lifted my shoulders, asking why.
“I have no idea. He just said you should meet him after you were done with your house chores.” Asron looked at his wrist watch. “I believe it is time, don’t you think?”
I didn’t want to go. I mean, I wanted to go, but I didn’t. I wanted to see him, and at the same time, I didn’t. I was afraid. I didn’t know if he was too angry with me for interrupting his playtime, or because I got excited with his proximity to me when I had no right for that. But then if he was too angry, he wouldn’t be so calm asking for my presence, right? Arron didn’t seen nervous or worried, he was just acting weird.
“Stop overthinking. What is going on inside that mind, Rae?” he asked me, standing very close. He had his index finger touching my forehead. I then started to smell…
“I told you to fetch her, didn’t I, Aaron?” Alpha Erik 's voice echoed. We we inside the room inside the laundry, where all the clean pieces were kept, before they were organized and distributed.
Aaron still had his finger on my forehead and Alpha Erik didn’t seen happy at all, for some reason. Probably because his Beta and I were chatting, instead of doing what he expected of us. Aaron, to fetch me; me, to meet him.
“Ah, yes. I was just telling her that.” Aaron answered, without moving.
“Were you? Or are you here flirting with her?” The Alpha asked with a hiss. Oh, no! He thought I was being daring enough to flirt with his Beta, hours after I was all into himself? He must think ill of me, for sure.
“Flirting?” Aaron asked and his finger finally left my skin. “Maybe. She is beautiful and smart. And, most importantly, single.” He said and looked at me. His back was to the Alpha, so, this one couldn’t see Aaron wiking at me. He was teasing the Alpha! I held back a giggle.
I heard Alpha Erik inhaling and in no time, he was just behind Aaron.
“Don’t you dare, Beta.” He said in a low, menacing voice.
“Don’t I dare what, Alpha?” he asked. “She might be my mate. Who knows?”
“If she was your mate, you’d know!” He said, louder this time.
“I might know, but maybe I am waiting for her to get her wolf back, so we can share this great feeling mates have when they are together.”
Aaron was speaking in a casual voice, and of course, that was not neutral. He was being nonchalantly.
“Rae, wait for me outside, please.” Alpha Erik said, without looking at me.
I looked from him to Aaron. I shook my head no. Alpha Erik raised an eyebrow and his stare was cold. He took one step ahead, but for some unknown courage, I didn’t back away. Aaron was my friend - or at least I saw him this way - and I couldn’t let him be harmed by Alpha Erik, just because he said something a bit funny. They were friends, weren't them?
“Fine.” He said and held my arm, not too forcefully, but enough to drag me away from Aaron.
“Erik!” Aaron called for him.
“I have a lesson to teach, Aaron. It is not the time for your flings.” He answered Aaron and I didn’t know what to do. I think he was not going to punish Aaron, hurt him in any way. Great.
“Be nice!” Aaron shouted from behind and Alpha Erik smirked. Yes, I looked at his face. His handsome face. He had a few scars there, and on his neck, going down, but… it didn’t take any ounce of his handsomeness.
When we got inside, Cassandra looked at me and at Alpha Erik and soon, at his hand on my arm. I looked behind her and Patricia had a grin on her face. She probably thought I was going to be punished by him. They knew him better than I did. Was he really going to punish me?
We got out of the kitchen, entered the big hall and then, to his office. He opened the door and released me inside it, entering behind me and closing the door.
He looked at me with a strange light in his eyes that I didn’t know what that meant. Then, he made a face of pain and took one step away, and another one, until he was near his desk.
“Are you going to stay still? Sit!”
