Raff

I laid in bed not wanting to interrupt her thoughts. Nina seemed to be lost in thought after I said I knew she wasn’t ready. I could tell by how hesitant she was to kiss me back, and I was okay with waiting. Of course I wanted to. She is exactly like I said, a little goddess. Her beauty also makes me nervous though, because I was an outcast. I have never actually slept with anybody before. I never had much desire until now. I turn my head to watch her in the dark. She is small for a wolf, even for a human she would be on the small side. Her hair was a dark auburn that fell in waves to the bottoms of her shoulders. Her eyes were a deep green that seemed to glow with power Her high cheekbones were highlighted by some light freckles scattered across. My eyes ran across each feature soaking it in. Her deep set eyes, high cheekbones, and her cute button nose. I smiled to myself as my eyes followed it down till I found her lips. I pursed mine together remembering how soft they are. She tastes just as sweet as she smells. It is easy to lose myself when I get close to her. I see her close her eyes, and decide to settle in. I roll to face her, wrapping her in my arms. I feel her stiffen slightly at the contact, then relax into me. Not long after I felt her breathing even out, and I let myself drift to sleep.
I awoke to Nina shaking my leg before the sun was even up. I have never been a morning person, so I just grumble something, and roll over not wanting to be disturbed. I hear a huff behind me as I settle back into the bed. I feel a soft tug on the blankets, and grab them tight knowing she would try to pull them off. I felt another tug that slowly built, before another hard yank came, and the blankets went flying. The sudden cold made me jump, and my surprise had me sitting up.
“How are you so strong!” I yell covering my torso with my arms. I see Nina at the foot of the bed almost doubled over in laughter at me. Grumbling I get up, and put a shirt on. “Why did we have to wake up before the sun?” I ask my mate who is still laughing at my misery. I stare at her with a small smile glad that she is so happy, even if at my expense. Her laughter slowly comes to a stop as she stands up, and looks at me as if I'm missing something.
“Training in the morning is mandatory” Everything clicks into place at that moment. I had completely forgotten about the crazy training regiment here. Sighing in exasperation I grumble about time before I realize I would still have to go to my room to change. Sighing again I walk over to Nina;
“If it’s what my goddess wishes it's what she shall get,” I say looking down at her and placing a swift kiss on her lips before heading to the door. “Give me just a few minutes to change,” I said as I slipped out the door. I dressed quickly in some joggers and a somewhat loose shirt with sneakers. Standing up from trying my shoes I take a deep breath. Never being allowed to train at my old pack I was nervous at how out of shape I was. I didn’t want to embarrass Nina. The only thing I can do right now is to see how I do. I opened my door on my way to pick up Nina, but she was already in the hallway waiting for me. She stands up straight when I walk out. It looked like I had caught her lost in thought. I walk towards her placing my hand in hers, and turning to walk down the hallway. “Just so you know I was never allowed to train at my old pack,” I say without looking at Nina. I feel her falter a little before she catches herself.
“So then today we get a baseline for you, and I will have Grey work with you to get you caught up on self-defense…Is that okay with you?” she adds the last bit hesitantly. She has already noticed I don’t like training, and is trying to take my feelings into account. I squeeze her hand for reassurance.
“That sounds perfect. I want to know how to protect my mate.” I say as I bring the hand I’m holding up, and kiss it. We make our way into the elevator we are now standing at. I take a deep breath knowing I’m probably about to feel like I’m dying.
“So when we get out there we check in and start with a morning run. We run for about 20 minutes, then Grey calls us for forms and stretching. From that point on it will all be guided, so just follow along as best you can. I will be right here with you the whole time.” Nina says beside me squeezing my hand. I smile down at her as the elevator doors open. Making our way to the training ground I see people already running, and Grey standing with a clipboard. We make our way over to him, and I see him write something on his clipboard. He looks back up and gives us a thumbs-up. “Alrighty he checked us in, so we can start running. We can go at a jog to start. I want you to set the pace.” Nina turns to look at me with a silent question in her eyes. I nod my head yes when we join the other runners on the track. Training goes by in a blur with everything being pretty basic. After I hang around, and wait for Grey who is packing up his stuff to get cleaned up. When he stands up I walk over to him.
“Hey,” He nods his head at me with a smile. I hesitate, but I want to be strong enough to protect Nina. “I’m not sure if Nina told you, but I wasn’t allowed to train at my last pack.” He nods his head in understanding. “I was wanting to know if you could help me out, and teach me some self-defense off of the mandatory training times.” I see his smile grow, and a gleam appear in his eye.
“I would love to man. I think it’s great you want to get stronger for her, but let me ask you…how much, and how fast do you want to learn?” The gleam in his eye unsettled me, but I thought about the question. I want to be able to protect Nina, and she is an amazing fighter, so I had a long way to go, but my gut told me it was urgent that I become stronger. Deciding I nod my head at Grey.
“I’m willing to go through whatever it takes.” Grey nods at me. Before thinking for a bit. Seeming to decide on something he gives a quick nod.
“Okay, meet me in that building,” he points to the one I found him sparring with Nina in. “After school at three,” he finishes the last part before grabbing his bag and walking towards the pack house. I take a second to process the information before heading back to the pack house myself. For the most part, everyone had already made it to their rooms to get ready for the day it seems. There was still a small group of people standing around the elevator, so I chose to go up the stairs. Though I have never trained before what we did today wasn't that bad. I still felt like I had more energy. Making it to my room I let out a breath not seeing Nina. As I walk by her door I hear the shower still running. I quicken my pace knowing I need to be ready before her, so I can wish her luck on her finals today. I rush in the shower and get dressed knowing Nina is usually pretty fast at getting ready, and I make it out of my room just in time to see her begin to make her way down the hallway. I jog to catch up to her and take her hand. The sudden contact startled her and made her gasp in shock. She almost flipped me, but seemed to notice who it was before she did. Letting out a breath of relief she sighs.
“You scared me, what are you doing?” I looked down at her and cupped her face.
“Today is finals, I wanted to wish you luck before.” I smile before giving her a deep kiss and holding her tight. She relaxed into my touch and accepted the kiss almost instantly. I slowly release her and break the kiss sweeping a piece of hair behind her ear. I leaned forward whispering in her ear. “Good luck my little goddess. I know you’ll do great.” I pull away and walk back to my room leaving my mate a cute little mess. Chuckling to myself I thank the goddess again for my mate.
