“D*mn It! D*mn it! D*mn it!” I scream smashing all of the contents on my desk. I lost my pack to that f*cking wh*re my worthless son is mated to, and I just got the call from my special team, Trey became a liability and had to be taken care of. My plans for removing the incarnations for this cycle before they met failed. For 500 years my line had been in charge of eliminating the black and white wolves before they mated, and I failed. Get in here now! I mindlink my beta. I needed a new plan, and with them already being in control of the largest pack, and now technically my pack I wasn’t sure how to move forward. A few moments later a knock on my door tells me my beta is here. “Come in d*mn it, don’t keep me waiting!” I yell at the door.
“My apologies, alpha. I heard about Trey.” Fury builds in me.
“Oh you heard?! Then do you have any F*CKING idea how much trouble we are in?! The order tasked us with being the ones to eliminate them, and our last piece to do so quietly Fucked up so bad he is dead! We had one shot! ONE F*CKING SHOT! And we failed! We have to figure out a way to salvage this before the Order kills us. If they find out I lost in a duel to that bitch we are dead, and if they find out my son has been one all this time, and I haven’t killed him…” I slump in my chair realizing if any of this gets out we are dead. The silence spreads out as we consider the options.
“Raff was banned from shifting while he was here, so nobody in this pack knows except for you and I, perhaps if we do this right there may be a way out for us both.” I pause, taking a deep breath to calm myself.
“Go on,” I say, and together we get a plan together on how to salvage things. Ready to get to work on the plan I look around my office realizing it’s a complete mess I let out an exasperated sigh. “Sherrie!!” I call, and a little woman wearing an apron comes in moments later.
“You called me alpha?” She says bowing to me. Getting annoyed I stand up from my desk.
“Clean this, and let me know when it's done. Be quick about it, I have work to do” I say walking out of the office. Shutting the door behind me I decided to go to the library. Pushing open the large double doors I walked down the history aisle, and upon finding the correct book I pulled it out, and flipped the switch. A moment later the wall to my left slides open revealing a dark staircase. Placing the book back in place I begin my descent. With the first step inside the door slides shut with a quiet thump. Taking a moment to let my eyes adjust I walk down the stairs that lead to a room dimly lit with candles along the walls. On the far wall sits a desk with a chair, and some papers scattered on it. Looking around I find the tunnel that leads further back. Making a right I follow the path passing cages with some people looking weak, and others angry and trying to grab at me. They shouted their profanities, and how they would kill me, but I paid them no mind as I went further. Entering the door shut at the end I open it to find the man I was looking for. He currently had an unconscious man laying on a table with several syringes laid out beside him. Barely glancing up in acknowledgement he continues piercing the unconscious man with a needle before injecting him.
“As you can see alpha, I’m a bit busy at the moment. What brings you to my dark corner of hell?” He asks, pulling out the needle, and writing something down on a notepad.
“They have mated.” I say shortly. The doctor stops moving, and looks up at me with surprise and uncertainty written on his face.
“Are you certain?” He queries hesitating before grabbing another syringe, and examining its contents.
“I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t” I responded flatly. “Soon though everyone will know, I can’t risk the Order finding out I know and did nothing. If you need anything from them…” I say pointedly, and at that he looks up from the syringe. “Make sure you get it soon, and quietly.” A slow smile spreads across his features.
“Consider it done, Alpha” Looking down he injects the liquid straight into the heart of the unconscious man. The man began to convulse uncontrollably before going still again. Grabbing his stethoscope the doctor checks for a heartbeat before smiling at me.
“I have the perfect candidate. It seems to achieve what we need too. Would you mind assisting me to get him back in his cell?” He says pulling out a cart I'm assuming he uses to carry the unconscious to and from their cells. Grabbing the arms I feel how unnaturally heavy the man is. With a grunt the doctor explains “It's an unfortunate side effect of the injections. Makes them unbearably heavy.” After getting the man into his cell I begin making my way back to my office. I have a press conference to call with the leaders of the werewolf community. Two hours later I'm standing on a podium with a speech I had my beta prepare for me. The reporters present were all exclusively werewolves that carried news for the werewolf community. There were two alphas present whom I knew were from the order. They always liked to keep a close eye on things. The camera crew was setting up to go live for all of the local stations.
“ Thank you all for coming.” I start looking around the audience. “I come to you today with some…distressing news. The Kings and Queens of old have returned.” Gasps erupted all around, most of them happy, some scared and uncertain. “Yes. I know it is confusing, but the worst is yet to come I'm afraid. The White wolf, and Black wolf have mated, and are already ruling over, and dominating other packs. I’m afraid even my own Blue Shadows Pack has been taken from me by Alpha Nina. The first female alpha, and the great White wolf. Coerced me into a duel for my pack, and to defend my pack's honor I fought, and it was in that fight I learned who she was. It pains me to learn that my own-” I get choked up a bit trying to sell this next part. “My own son, whom I had thought was unable to shift, is in fact the black wolf, and her mate. They conspired to take my pack first, and now that they have mated I have evidence they plan to take down our council, and force us back into the old ways. Please I urge you to protect yourselves, we cannot let everything we have worked for over the years be lost over their greed. They expect us all to bow to them, because they feel superior to us. I say we fight back, and don’t let them take our lives.” I finish scanning the crowd which is silent. The two alphas from the order bear unreadable expressions when in the silence a single clap can be heard. Then another, and soon the whole room is cheering, and applauding for my speech. I smile at the camera knowing they are watching, and knowing I just declared war.
