Chapter 12: The empire, Stubborness and Reality

THE EMPIRE, STUBBORNESS,, and REALITY.

Mason had a business meeting so he went to the office as he had scheduled.
As one would have it most of the female staff were smitten with him and you could tell from their dressing but he had Angela send them off, an irony because as it was she was claiming to be the main chick of the boss even though he made it clear she was nothing but his sex buddy, it had been two weeks he showed up at the office hence no one knew he was going to come because as it was they thought he had gone for one of his long vacations as Angela explained to them from time to time.
So his showing up today confused most of them who had allegedly turned his office space into a market place and they were taken unaware because he had a somewhat confusing look on his face
Mason was not smiling and at the same time, he didn't have so much as a friendly face on so what happened was his employees were dumbstruck and ran to their places when he entered the receptionist to see people discussing and seated at the tables and not doing the work he pays them for.
He did not say a word nor show any sign of anger but Angela who walked behind him shot daggers at those who had been silly rallying away in their absence.
Everyone did not know what they would receive as punishment because Mason Laurel never for once tolerate inefficiency so they all sat at their desk working but with anxiety since they had not known what their verdicts would be for playing around when in fact they should have been working for the humungous sum of money he paid them.
When anyone heard anything or paper fall or a certain noise they raised their heads awaiting the impending dictum from their boss who was most scary to them all.
"Everyone in the boss's office now" Angela resounded in the hall and they all knew the hour of reckoning had arrived and they would never recover from what was to befall them.
Angela was smirking she knew something she wasn't telling but then again they had committed the one thing they had signed in their contracts they were never going to do so it was time to receive the ultimate punishment.
When all were assembled in his office a total of 70 work staff and his office space could contain them all and more just to tell how much space his office had.
Angela sat and crossed her legs in front of him he looked at her and sighed because she was trying too much and he didn't want to disgrace her in front of his employees although she was his employee too because she worked as his assistant here at the company.
"So it has come to my notice through the office cameras and more and even evident to me today that you all are a bunch of hippos who don't know how to operate in a work area and space hence I wanted to know what you all were thinking and trust me, I have all day to listen to you all, he pointed at them, to give me a reason as going why you behaved so poorly and non-professional in my company, my sweat and yet at the end of the month you all receive the humongous sum of salaries to go free your families when in actuality you do nothing of great importance to my company but drink coffee and chit chat all day long? He said in a whole sentence and the. they all heard this they knew they had messed up and all were quiet but yet again that was another crime because he needed an answer yet they were giving him none and it caused his fury even more.
" I want to guess I having been talking to myself, ?" he asked them as he saw the trembling and fidgeting that was going on.
"Okay, since you all have nothing to say I will begin, Stacey, you are my receptionist let you dress up like a bimbo who works at a sex park and for that reason, I am laying you off, your calling is not in my company, he said, clear your desk and never return" before she could begin begging the look on his face sent her running out and clutching to her skirt so her bum would not be exposed as she ran out.
"Adam, you have taken pride in making yourself a man whore and want to follow everything that puts on a skirt men inclusive but whom 11 am I to judge you, well for the record I want you out," he said with a breathtaking smile but Adam knew better than to argue and this went on and on until he was left with 40 workers looking at him and shaky and they knew they were no match for his wrath, though they were no match for his wrath.
As luck would have it the rest were not laid off but the actions he had just portrayed now was evident he was a no-nonsense person so they had all learned a lesson and they would not joke with anything that concerned their work although he needed to recruit new persons it was no bother of his because he expected Angela to do that for him and also he started she should not employ anyone who dressed as a bingo else she would be dealt with accordingly and she knew what dealing with her squarely meant and it was never going to be a good feeling.
He went to work as his business partners arrived and they went into the conference room when Angela was about to follow in to take notes she was stopped and he told her she was not needed in the room because he would have the entire meeting recorded.
He was satisfied with his choices that morning and he took his phone and called Devi to know where she was but when he tried three times in a row and it turned futile because she was not reachable he began to panic and when Angela realized how bothered he was she was about doing the femme fatal of touching and asking what was happening what the matter was but Mason was just not having it so he asked her to drive back home but she did not listen to what he had said she took the car she was to use and go back to the pack and decided to trail Mason, for the past two weeks since the night he left and went to the club without her he had come back a different person he hardly needed her sexual services anymore and she couldn't help but feel something was off so he most definitely had someone whom he was getting the sugar from.
Mason was no fool he had seen the car trailing him so he turned and stood at a dark corner and when she had passed him and realized he had been missing she halted and began frantically hitting the car steering because she had missed him while she turned to pick the calm which showed he was the person calling, he asked her where she was because he was at the pack and he could not find her and he needed her to do something from the side where he was standing he could see confusion kneaded across her face because she could joy understand what was happening she had just seen his car moving down this road and this route was not the way to the pack house so she did the logical thing of the moment since she couldn't tell him she was talking him she told him she had gone grocery shopping which implied she had to pass by the grocery store to pick something for the house to convince them she had indeed gone to the grocery shop.
As she took a turn with the car at a high speed she passed him in the dark corner and since he could hide his wolf scent she could not perceive him even if she came close to him.
So he continued his journey down to where Devi lived but the way the doors were locked he could tell she had not been home for a very long time and that bothered him even more as he could not get ahold of her and also he could not find her.
He made a mental note it was evening already so he drove to his club and net some workers there he asked for the stripper's information and called Mary who was one of the clubs strippers and asked her if she was with Devi but Mary started Devi was last seen the last time he had come in and taken her.
As he heard this he knew it meant trouble he couldn't find their mate and Ashton became shaky in his head, Ashton began blaming things for not marking their mate on time, he had made their mate go away without him knowing where she was Ashton was furious but he managed to make the fury of his inner wolf he was the one who owned his body so Ashton could not control him never and ever.
As he fought with his inner wolf an idea came to mind and he decided to sit at the club to wait around probably Devi was going to come to meet him there because he knew she loved dancing so much.
And as luck would have it he had spent his entire evening drinking his whiskey and waiting on her when she showed up and asked if she could take the stand as she spoke to the manager he perceive her perfume she always had it on so he came and pulled her fiercely asking why she wasn't picking his call and why she was at the club about to dance when he had told her she didn't need to dance to make money because he was going to give her money whenever she needed it.
"I would have you know that you have control over me one when we are in the bedroom when you are flipping me from side to side and doing good things to my body but if you do not take your hands off of my body you would be sorry you touched me this way," she said in between her teeth no smiles but when he insisted touching her once more he believed she was just human and would do nothing to him but she used a spell that held him in place and then when she saw the disbelief in his eyes she walked away leaving him co-founder and wanting to know what all of that was about.
"Who is she?" the question resounded.
