Chapter 24: An Ally

Bored in her new room, she decides to keep herself busy. She tried some ideas and finally set her eyes on the bag containing her newly bought dresses. She decides to try them out, she picks up a beautiful peach skirt and a black blouse, and a pair of sandals her boss chose for her.
She was impressed with his taste, somehow he could pass for a fashion designer because he knew how to match outfits and shoes too. She had heard him say they would go to the office and some other place tomorrow so she just followed suit with what was happening since she had no say in the daily affairs. She decided to see where this was going to lead just maybe he was going to get tired of her and send her away.
But Mason had other plans ahs was going to be with him and help in this supernatural fight that was building up, Estrella was a human he knew that but she has lived with the vampires longer than anyone and understood the nooks and crannies of those evil people at least as she called them.
He has seen her running away from them when she had finally left her mother's side, her mother who had been forcing her to get acquainted with Damon so that she would be rich from whatever came from selling her daughter off.
How sad!!
He had almost knocked her down but then he stopped on the brakes forming Skid marks ana after explaining to Aurora who was in the vehicle with him she accepted that they take in the little girl who looked scared out of her wits.
And have a deal with her so that she would tell them how the other evil clan worlds and then she would be sent to school.
But she was to stay in the city condo, there were plenty of rooms there hence no problem of anyone tracing her with the tight security around.
However, uncertain about the future, she decided to just play along with everyone. Falling asleep on the soft bed she felt she would never want to get up from the bed. She needed the rest after a lot of thinking trying to process all the recent developments.
Her sleep was cut abruptly by a knock on the door, she woke up and quickly opened the door. It was the maid, who came to tell her that Mr Mason needed her presence downstairs in thirty minutes, it was time for breakfast. She rushed into the bathroom and quickly had a shower, but before she could get downstairs he had finished eating and was standing by the car with a serious face. Realizing that she was late and wouldn't want to keep him waiting any longer, she decided to let go of her delicious breakfast, they quickly drove off as soon as she got into the car.
Damn! this man was ruthless.
Paying no attention to her as they drove and finally they got in front of a gate, the driver honked and the gate was opened. They got into the building and he summoned everyone around and introduced her to the other workers. 
"Can I have your attention please, this is Miss Estrella Reston, who would be my new assistant" he announced to everyone and he took her straight to his office,  her job had begun? She was a novice in this occupation but her first day was not as difficult as she had thought it would be. Even Mason didn't expect her to perform that well, finally, it was 5 PM and it was time to go home. As they drove home he looked at her and asked quietly. He had told her if he didn't take her home then another guard would and she knew the specific guard aside from the two of them or his mate no one else should take her home or anywhere.
"How was work today, Estrella?"
"It was fine sir" she replied.
Mason was pleased with her performance at the office so it was time to introduce her to the main pack business and what she was there to do, the office work was just a show off so no suspect too. So after breakfast the next day, they drove off to a new location; she thought they were going to the office. When they arrived at the new location, it was different, she saw new faces mostly boys dressed casually; then they got to a big hall that looked like a warehouse.
"I need everybody in here" Mason ordered and as soon as everyone had gathered he continued
"This is Estrella Reston, my new assistant. She will be working with us from now on." after the introduction, everyone went back to what they were doing. Then he told Anthony to meet him in his office as they left.   
"Anything I should know Anthony?" He asked as Anthony entered the office.
"Yes Mason, we just discovered his headquarters this morning and we will be attacking him pretty soon if we plan well" Anthony replied assuring.
"Good job Anthony, Mason replied to his Beta that is very impressive, make sure you get back the stolen hard drive to me first thing tomorrow" he instructs with a serious look on his face.
"Yes Mason, we shall do exactly as you instructed boss"
"You may go now Anthony, I know you are awaiting the birth of your baby," Mason said to his Beta.
Beaming with joy Anthony gave him a pat on the back before going.
"How can you attack an enemy in his terrain without studying the whole area they don't know the ins and outs of that place nor do they have any spy in there to direct them on how to go about it?" Estrella asked curiously as she had heard them talking.
He looked at her as he sat down quietly and meditated for a while.
"she has a point here though," he thought to himself. And that was one point which she had aced. Anthony had to tell Mason of her witty nature to understand and do things effectively, he did not for once regret his decision for saving her from Damon.
There was no time to try another option, time was running out and any further delay could be costly. But they would have to follow her suggestion if they wanted to be on the safe side.
As they went back home, Mason sat down in his private chamber analyzing every scenario, as Aurora lay on his chest he only got more confused about the right decision to make. He asks Aurora if having Estrella on their team was the best decision and she told him her instincts went well with the girl so it was okay.
He trusted his mate's judgement because of her powers, as for the other issue of the captive who escaped they were still trying to get a hold of everything.
He then asked for Estrella to be brought to him, and as she walked in; she could notice how worried he was. He stood up holding a glass of whiskey and he was staring outside through the window.
"You sent for me sir?" she asked curiously.
"You said it wasn't wise to attack Alphonso in his packhouse without enough information," he said as he turned around to face her.
"Yes sir, I know that I am still a novice when it comes to things like this but common sense begs for carefulness in dealing with delicate matters like this one" she advised.
"So what do you suggest I do?" he asked.
She suggested that Alphonso should rather be trailed and set up, and then he would be taken unawares and wouldn't know what had struck him.
Alphonso was a womanizer, he liked beautiful girls and couldn't miss any opportunity to talk to a beautiful lady. As she dressed and wore her make up Mason felt bad for having to use her as bait but desperate times called did desperate measures.
Aurora had never seen Mason so worked up, or at least she had seen him this way but it was only when she had wanted to dance at the stripper club and he turned into another person who was not happy about other men having to see her body.
Finally, it was time to go and build this interest in my m of Alphonso.
when Aurora looked at her she saw herself in the little Estrella who would do anything to get what she wanted and in this case, the young girl who wanted to go to school and hence the interest in helping them fervently. It was a relief she had not been bitten and funded into a wicked soul for the vampires or used as a blood bank whenever they needed blood to feed their already dead souls.
"Be careful out there" Aurora warned as she watches Mason her mate who had given her a stolen kiss before walking away with Estrella.
It wasn't that hard to find him, she went to a few spots in the city and finally saw him and like magic, he approached her and asked for her number. She gave her but told him that she had received an urgent call and had to leave but she would be free the next day she said seductively touching his chest and Alphonso was already more than the word smitten.
His loins were going to be the death of him literally.
The plan was in action and the best decision Mason had ever done.

AURORA's POV
She has to come up with a plan. She did not trust Augusta even one bit. The old woman was quite sinister and she was not liking the fact that she had to begin investigating the captive's escape.
She knew for a fact that her instincts were telling her the truth but she needed more than just her instincts to be able to come to terms with this woman who looked innocent yet had a story to tell.
She decided to check if Augusta was truly an old woman as she all claimed for her to be.
They went out to the garden to work, and it was then that she saw how swiftly Augusta could carry things around but no cries of cramps or whatever she was looking old but she was a strong bitch and they had to find out what was happening.
She had to know why this woman was being this way and there was no doubt that she was the one who had saved the captive she had powers and she was going to have to answer.
But for now, Aurora decided to remain quiet.
