Chapter 22: The old Lady

Today was the day Mason had to come face to face with the vampires. Vampires and the werewolves were never friends but it seemed Alphonso had somehow managed to sign some sort of weird treaty with them so that they would help out in the fights against Mason.
This morning when he had a message from Alphonso saying he wanted to meet him to discuss handing over some of the assets their parents had worked together on it.
Although there's no doubt that Mason had a choice or not to go see him he wanted to go hear what the scumbag was to say.
Choice, Mason would have chosen to avoid them. But if he did he would have shown them that there is a reason he was scared and he was not scared of course, he was the alpha of the century, and even if his ancestors were to be back from their place of eternal sleep they would still fear him
When he went on to see this said group that was being brought.
Alphonso being sassy states " Hey there his Majesty, or should I say, fearless bastard," he said in a bid to annoy him but he boosted Mason's ego the more.
"Thank you for the compliments at least you acknowledged my supremacy over you" he smiled.
He came to a point where the vampires were about to choose an innocent human girl for their blood bank.
Truth be told, humans had discovered the existence of werewolves and vampires years ago and most of them would say they preferred the werewolves better since they didn't impose so much of what the vampires did, they were ruthless and the vampires always wanted to be in control and command they went in where the humans were and used their supreme power for wickedness and for some reason Alphonso had thought if Mason saw this ceremony he would be scared because he had allied with this ruthless team whom he had never seen their leader but apple through a spokesman they aimed to dominate the human race and also to male any other paranormal beings and Masons pack was one of those to be attacked.
They were thought to be normal but Mason didn't see anything and made it anywhere close to normal they were opportunists and also terrible people.
"So why did you invite me here?" he asked Alphonso
"So I can rub it in that I have some powerful people you do not have," he said
"So you think I am scared of you and this number of people, I can crush them with my fingers," he said.
The madness of this entire charade of choosing little girls so their blood could be drained and drank and having to see parents wish their kids were chosen was madness.
The fact that humans were weak and had to obey the wishes of paranormal beings. And the fact that they had the right to choose an innocent human girl every year to be their mate or shall we say, their blood bank was sickening and wrong beyond words.
And the girls were always in denial but their parents would always for them into doing. It was like a rollercoaster of emotions of people being toiled and their blood sucked and they were used for reasons to make their lives longer.
None of this felt right. Yet people praised and followed their every command and rule.
And most of this was because if a human drank the blood of a vampire he would become a vampire but won't be that strong because he was not a born vampire.
Not only will they be able to gain the powers that a vampire possessed but they'll also be able to become part of Damon's vampire family. They were the descendants of the first vampires ever known to mankind and the strongest of their kind to have existed up until this century of beautiful young boys and girls full of life and technology. And out of all the pure-born blood vampires, Damon Fayez was the most powerful hence the reason why Alphonso had chosen him as an ally.
This reason alone was why everyone was so desperate to make sure that their daughters were chosen by Damon as a mate or blood bank, how sick could it get? Because they can become part of the most powerful Damon Fayez Family.
While most human people craved unfailing power, the other half craved the freedom to escape from the constant fear that ran through their minds.
Of having to be some blood bank when in reality they were supposed to live their lives normally. Mason wanted to stay away from vampires at all costs because he hated them with everything that has held dear but it seemed Alphonso was about bringing on a fight that was going to stay longer than was necessary and be able to have some sort of self-security for his foolishness and he wasn't stopping anytime soon which was something he was never going to admit that he was a scary cat.
Three paranormal beings are witches, werewolves, and vampires Peace would never be found anywhere in the dictionary.
"Stop, that's enough mom," Mason heard young last tell her mother who was presumably telling her daughter to look her best so that they would be chosen by Damon Fayez but the girl did not want that to be an option so she was stopping her mother who looked like she was old but somehow not too old.
The old woman's dark blue eyes stared directly into Mason's eyes as though she was begging him to save her and the family from not and he felt some sort of sympathy to help out so that they would help out with what they were going through in the hands of this vampire family.
"Godmother no, I am not going to do that, I won't jeopardize my future for some idiot who can't fend for himself but make people's lives miserable," the young girl said.
As they were in that place looking at all the women who were being pushed by their parents to go see what was happening then, Mason told him he was done and he left the place when the ceremony was not over yet he had to tell his mate what had happened today but when he reaches the Packhouse gate he could swear he had seen this lady who was seated in front of the gate probably somewhere but he couldn't make it out.
Well he met a lot of people in his lifetime and this wouldn't be the first time they would somehow come before h and he wouldn't make out their faces.
Then he walked past the woman who was asking him to help her because have was homeless and lost and she didn't know where she was but when Aurora came outside to her mate trying to send this woman away, she told him not to send the lady away and that she could take care of the said lady until the found new family and that was the way she was taken inside given some food and a to lay her head and also some fresh clothes so she could answer their questions to know where she was coming from.

Augusta's POV
Augusta was the mother of Aurora's mother who had left her when she was still a child and she had her reasons for doing so although they were selfish reasons then again she didn't see it as a greedy act of hers hence she had come back to spy and take revenge on Mason for some ancient problems that had happened two hundred and fifty years ago.
And she didn't even know that Aurora had been alive and had gotten a mate and the person whom she was about to come hurt was a man who was making her daughter happy.
Part of Augusta's spy plan was to help find her daughter she knew her daughter was a half-witch and human and she had left her alone for a very long time and now she was back to apologize and also use her powers to help her daughter use her powers to fight this impending man they called Mason.
The man whose life was cut off and also send back to his owner was her man and when she had seen the lb sent back to her with the state of one of her men she decided to take matters into her hands and show up in front of the packhouse as an old woman but she was not the old woman they saw.
She was a young woman since paranormal beings hardly ever grew old.
There was some sort of beef that had begun with Mason's father and Mason had joined his father and they had killed Auroras, father or so Augusta, thought she had seen Mason with blood all over him with her Husband then, and when she was about asking what had happened Mason had run into the bushes and she swore she had seen him turn into some sort of silver shining wolf and ever since then she had run into the woods and she left her daughter behind and also she has someone check in her daughter but not until some woman found her daughter and then she lost track of her daughter so when they were asking her questions she stated that she was looking for her daughter and also she wanted to make sure she would her daughter before she returned to her far away town when she had come from the wooded area.
She then went into her room which was given to her and also laid down her scrap plan papers on the table her first mission was to look for this man whose limbs were being sent to her as souvenirs and also now she was going to have to look for a way to free him from the dungeon he was in as per what the other informant had told her that he was locked in a room where he was to stay till he spoke the truth of who sent him hence she had to fresh and send him for healing from the group ah she was working with she had to make and he was fine and well because he was one of her moat trust workers and he had shown that with his life as it was shown from all the beatings he took but didn't budge to speak the truth about what had happened so she had to stay here and keep her eyes and ears open because it was going to help her extremely.
