Chapter 13

Priya's POV

I opened my eyes slowly, it was a beautiful morning. I tried to stretch but could not. I felt that something heavy was on my waist. I realised that he was holding me. I tried to remove his arm but he caught me tighter. His face was near the back of my neck now and his hot breaths were caressing my neck.



I was almost melting, It was a new feeling . I just didn't want it to end, but was scared that he may get annoyed with this proximity. I managed to escape from his arms and got ready.

My practical was about to start today, so I had to go a bit earlier. Mom insisted that I eat my breakfast before I go. Dad was reading newspapers and Rohit was talking on the phone. Mom was busy, giving instructions to the housekeeper as she was going out. I was having breakfast when Rahul came and said good morning to everybody. He took the chair next to mine and smiled at me, I smiled shyly.



He bent a little towards me and whispered,

"So it seems that you slept better last night and you did not walk." I just nodded.



"Good, that means, we should continue with that. Right?"



My heartbeat increased with just the thought. I nodded shyly, could not even look at him. He grinned and said, " Be ready by 7 in the evening, we are going out for dinner." I smiled and just then we heard a low whistle.



Everyone was looking at us curiously as we were just engrossed in our own world. Dad and mom were looking at us lovingly and Rohit was smirking.

" What bhai?? It seems you have eyes only for Priya now. We are also here, you both were totally oblivious of us, what is so special? "



"Shut up Rohit, I was just asking her to come for dinner tonight."



"Oh, dinner!! Very good idea. I was getting bored, so I will be there bhai, just tell me the time and place." Said Rohit with a smile, but Rahul looked annoyed and said, " I am going with her not you."



"She doesn't mind me being there. Do you Priya?" He looked at me with one eyebrow raised.



"No, I don't." I said.



"See she doesn't mind. I will be there."



" Mom... Dad... please yaar." Rahul was annoyed now.

" Enough Rohit !! Stop pulling his leg."

Mom scolded Rohit and then she smiled at us and said, " Both of you, please go for dinner and enjoy yourselves."



"You better take good care of her, Rahul." Dad smiled at us.



I went to college and after the practical exam, we all were sitting in the canteen, when one of my lecturers sent for me. I went to meet her and she informed me that I would have to perform at an inter-college dance competition that was just after five days. I didn't want to participate in it as the exams were just a week away. Moreover, I would have to spend more time in college and I didn't want that. I requested her that it will not be possible for me to do it but all in vain.



" Priya, you are one of the best dancers we have, you can't back out. You have to participate in this, in fact, you have to make other girls practice also. A dance instructor will also be coming to help you all. "

" But ma'am, please try to understand, exams are coming and I am not prepared for exams. "



" Oh no!! I won't listen to you, we don't have any other option. You are the best dancer and you have to participate and represent our college in the competition. It is an inter-college competition beta, who would represent us, if you won't?" She said very authoritatively.



" And as far as exams are concerned, I know you are the best student of the college. You will top in not just our college, but the university, so please don't make lame excuses. You are participating, that's it... no further discussion on this. Start practising now. Ok??"

I just knew that I had no other option.

I called mom and told her, "Mom I will be late, as I have to practice for the upcoming competition." She said, " It is ok beta and don't worry, I will send somebody to pick you up. Don't tire yourself too much, as you know, you have to go out for dinner with Rahul." I knew she must be smiling like anything.



" Yes mom "



I kept doing practice for very long. I was helping others too. Surbhi was not doing it properly, so it was not looking good. I told her each and every step very slowly, her expressions were also not proper so I had to tell her each and everything it was taking a lot of time.

I was very tired, when I finished my practice for the day. I came out and saw that my mom was there. I just forgot my tiredness and I jumped into her arms. I was so excited to see her, after so many days.



" Mom it's so good to see you after so many days, mom. I missed you so much. "



" Oh, my baby, I miss you too... so, how are you? "



" I am good, mom."



" So I heard that you are going for dinner with Rahul." I smiled shyly and nodded.



" So let's go and get you ready."



" But mom..."



" But what baby?? Sunita knows about it, as I told her, I wanted to meet you, then she told me that you are going for dinner with him. listen now you will come home with me and Rahul will come and pick you from our house."



"Ok mom, I am so happy to go home with you. How is Dad? I miss him too. "



I hugged my dad and he kissed my forehead, then he asked, " Does Rahul take good care of you? let me know if it doesn't... I will scold him."



" No dad, he takes very good care of Me."



Then we talked for half an hour and we enjoyed what we used to do earlier. My mom said," Beta Priya, come on, time to get ready... Rahul must be here within half an hour, go get ready. "



My mom said, " You take a quick shower and in the meanwhile, I'll take out the new dress which I bought today for you."



" Ok mom ..."



After the shower, when I came out I saw a beautiful red colour gown lying on my bed. It was sleek, elegant and beautiful.



I blow-dried my hair, applied very light makeup. My mom made me wear a beautiful diamond pendant set which looked beautiful with the dress, it also had the matching bracelet with it.



I was ready when the doorbell rang. My heart started fluttering. From my room, I could hear that he was here.



My dad was asking him about work and he was telling him about the new projects that were coming. My mom came and asked me to come out.

" Priya you are looking very pretty."

I hugged her and we both came to the living room, where dad and Rahul were talking.

" Uncle, our team is really good and they have done… "

He saw me and stopped talking in mid-sentence. He was looking at me and was awestruck.



He just kept on looking at me. My mom and dad were smiling and looking into each other's eyes. My dad coughed and said, " Rahul you were saying something."

" Yes... yes Uncle, what was I saying.? " He still kept looking at me, I was blushing profusely now.



" You tell me beta... " My dad was really amused with him.



" Stop it, Kabir !! Why are you embarrassing them? " Mom scolded dad.



Then he smiled and said, "Uncle I don't remember what I was saying. Sorry for that, but can you please allow me to take Priya for dinner?"



Dad and mom burst out laughing and nodded.



" Rahul, you don't need permission to take her anywhere. She is your wife and you have every right to take her to dinner or anywhere you want, son. Just go and enjoy yourselves."



He hugged mom and dad and then we left.
