Chapter 26

Party was still going on. Some people had already left. Our parents and their friends were settled down to eat as it was a bit late. Priya, Megha and Sia were with our parents, so I couldn't go and talk to her. Though she was smiling at what her parents were saying, it didn't reach her eyes. I was feeling bad. I went to their table and asked her to come with me but she said, " I am starving right now, you must be hungry as well, so can we eat first, please? " I just nodded Rohit and Mehul also joined us.



I called Sagar, Vikram and Gautam but they said they already ate. They had to leave as Vikram and Gautam had to go to the hospital.



I took the chair that was in front of Priya as both the seats next to her were occupied by her friends. She was avoiding looking at me. I used to avoid looking at her always, but now, I know how it feels. After we had our food, I again requested her to come with me. She did come but just then my dad's friend called me and she excused herself. Our parents decided to leave as they were tired, but we had to stay till our guests were here. We finally said goodbye to everyone.



I looked at her and I wanted to tell her everything, but she was not even looking at me. She was about to walk away when I held her hand tightly and took her aside.



" I need to talk to you Priya, it's not what it looks like. Look I know, that he has got the photographs but it's not like what you think it was. When I was at the airport, all of a sudden she came in front of me and hugged me and then she kissed me. I was so surprised and shocked that I couldn't even react for 1 minute and that was the time when he must have clicked the photographs. But as soon as I came over my shock I pushed her away and asked her to get lost from my life because I don't need her. I don't love her, I lo...... "

When she came back from the washroom, she went out of the room, I thought that she had gone to drink water or something like that, but after a few minutes, Rohit knocked and entered my room.



I asked him, " What happened?" he replied, "Priya requested me that I sleep in this room and she sleeps in my room. She went to the guest room, but AC was not working properly and moreover, I think she didn't want mom or dad to know about this. Sorry Bhai, but the way she requested I couldn't refuse."



I was really upset now. She didn't even want to share the room with me. Did she hate me so much now?

" She will not forgive me, she doesn't even trust me. I tried to tell her everything, but she said that I don't need to give an explanation to her. She doesn't even want to be in the same room with me, that means she must be hating me so much. Oh God !! She hates me, I can't bear it. What do I do now?"

" What did you just say? Come again, please. Did you just say that she doesn't hate me. In fact, she loves me? " My eyes were about to come out of my skull. He must have gone mad.



He didn't utter a word. He was avoiding looking at me. I shook him hard and asked again, " What did you say? And if you said that she doesn't hate me in fact she is in love with me, then please tell me this is true. How can you say that? How do you know that? You are not kidding. Are you?" My heart was beating like a drum.



He shook his head and said,

" No, I am not kidding. It is true she doesn't hate you. She can never hate you. I don't think that I have a right to tell you all this. But I guess it is too late for that. She has always had a big crush on you, since at least 5 years or maybe even more than that. She used to look at you as if you were some kind of superhero. When we were in school, her eyes used to follow you wherever you used to go. "he said.



" When we were teenagers, boys were interested in her but she never even looked at any of them, she had eyes only for you. So I assure you bhai, I know that she is in love with you. She never liked to be introduced to any boy. But she used to get hurt, when you used to ignore her."



" But, how do I know that?? Did she ever tell you that?" I was going mad with happiness. But still wanted to confirm everything.



" She didn't need to, it was always written all over her face. But I know that her friends used to tease her about you. And she used to blush like a tomato."



" How come I never got to know about it? I always wanted her in my life. But I used to think that it was unethical, as she was almost our family. " I didn't know how I was feeling at that moment.



He nodded and said, " I know that too big brother. I always noticed the way you used to look at her when you thought that nobody was looking. You used to chase all the guys who were interested in her or wanted to date her. I literally saw you scaring a boy from my class. " I was blushing a bit now.



"Ok point taken Rohit, you have good observations. Now tell me what to do now? "



" Just be patient and try to show her that you really care, that you really have feelings for her, that you love her. I know she is madly in love with you. Just go and get her. She is yours, has always been. " I hugged him.



It seemed that though he always behaved like children, my brother had really grown up. Priya you wait and watch, here I come.



Priya's POV



It is already morning and I couldn't sleep even for a minute last night. I knew, he loved her though he kept denying it, but still it hurt me badly.



I couldn't help getting jealous. They were kissing... Oh god !! Just give me the strength to bear all this.



I decided to leave everything aside. It was my first day in office, I didn't want to be late. I would have to go to our room and get ready.

I tiptoed to the washroom and got ready. When I opened the door of the washroom, I saw that Rahul was standing there with his arms folded in front of his chest. As soon as he saw me, he gave me the cutest smile, he has ever given me. I gave him a faint smile and tried to go out, but he was standing in front of me making it impossible.



He said, " Good morning !! Priya. Why are you sneaking out of your room as if you are a burglar? "



" No, it is not like this, you were sleeping and I didn't want to disturb you. " She replied avoiding to look into my eyes. " Will you please excuse me now?"



" No, not till you listen to me. We need to talk, Priya. Listen I swear, I didn't hug or kiss her. She did that, I was just shocked that she was there. I just couldn't react for a minute. The moment I realised what she was doing I pushed her. She humiliated me in front of my parents and all the people. How can I be in love with her? I assure you, I was never in love with her. Please believe me." I nodded and tried to get away from him but he caught my hand and pulled me towards him. I tried to resist it but he cornered me near the wall.



He was coming closer, my back was touching the wall now. I tried to push him on his shoulders, but he was too strong for that. He just smiled and stepped even closer. There was just an inch between us. I again tried to push him. My hands were on his chest and I could feel his heartbeat. I was getting affected by this proximity. He caught both my hands in one his big one and placed them on the wall above my head.



I was about to say something when he placed his lips on mine. I was shocked but I loved the feeling. He kept kissing me and placed his free hand under my jaw to keep my face turned towards him. He slowly released my hands and placed his other hand on my waist, now I was in the circle of his arms.



He was holding me tightly as if he would not let me go, but I didn't even want to. I was enjoying every single moment of this. Just then he stopped kissing me and said, " Priya, it is high time now. I want to tell you a few things, please listen to me carefully, I just wanted to tell you that I..."



There was a loud knock on the door of our bedroom. Rahul almost cursed at that.
