Chapter 20

Kayla
Kayla couldn't believe what had happened today. Before she moved to Hill city, she had actually never gotten into any trouble in school. She had always been a good girl and a good student. But now because of Lucas Gray, she was having sex in locker rooms and running away from a janitor like a criminal. Yes, instead of being angry or feeling reserved about him,she was excited. She could feel the adrenaline coursing through her body. It was like she was part of a very exciting adventure; more exciting than she had in Alaska for sure.
Lucas and herself had gone into the locker room to have a good time like they did before. He had texted her just as she was about to enter the cafeteria. He told her to meet him up in the locker room. She had gotten wet just from reading his text as her imagination ran wide on what she knew was going to happen. She initially pretended to be disinterested by telling him that she was going to lose weight from missing lunch so much. But she was actually excited about having sex with him again. She would gladly give up lunch anytime for a good time with Lucas. But it was important to her that she didn't seem too desperate. After all, although he had officially asked her out on a date,he was yet to ask her to be his girlfriend.
When she got to the locker room, Lucas pulled her in and they soon ended up in one of the bathroom stalls. He started kissing her and she responded . He kissed her neck and she moaned from the pleasurable feeling coursing through her body.
Lucas then put one of his hands inside her pants while he was still kissing her. She almost shat herself from pleasure. She was so lost in the feeling that she almost jumped out of her skin when she heard someone open the door to the locker room.
Lucas shushed her and they both stayed perfectly still as they heard heavy boots march into the passage of the locker room. Kayla was so scared that she could hear her own heartbeat. Lucas tried to console her by holding her close to him. She was afraid that they were both going to get caught and she was going to get expelled from the school before she even really had a chance to settle in.
She could only imagine how disappointed her parents would be to find out the reason why she had been expelled if it should happen. She knew as well as Lucas that it was against the rules of the school for students to be engaged in sexual activities around the school's environ.
She and Lucas remained in a position not making a sound as they heard the footsteps pass them to the other extreme of the locker room. They soon heard sweeping and realized that it was the janitor but they didn't move all the same. Kayla herself had heard of how the janitor had reported two students for fighting even though the rest of the class would have kept quiet about it with nobody wanting to be a snitch. But the janitor obviously had no problem with being a snitch. Kayla could imagine that his life was so boring that he sometimes needed some drama to spice it up.
They soon heard the sweeping coming closer to their bathroom stall and Natalie mentioned it to Lucas
"We have to make a run for it" he told her and Kayla could not believe her ears but she trusted Lucas.
Her clothes were on the floor and she told Lucas that she had to put on her clothes first to which he consented to. She put on her clothes as quietly as she could.
He eventually counted to three and they both dashed out of the bathroom and out the door. They ran until they got close to the cafeteria before they stopped. Kayla could feel the adrenaline rushing through her as they stopped and started to laugh. She couldn't believe they had just done that. As scary as it was, it was the most fun she had had in a while, excluding the first time she had sex with Lucas.
Lucas asked her if they should still have lunch and Kayla agreed, confessing that she was actually starving.
Then they both went to lunch together. This time they both took a seat and sat together facing each other. It was the first time that Kayla had sat with Lucas at lunch. She looked over at where she usually sat with Charlotte and her friends and caught Charlotte looking at her. Her eyes were surprised and she shook her head at Kayla in disapproval.
Kayla quickly looked away and faced Lucas. They were having a beef burger with potato chips for lunch. Kayla took a bite of her burger and closed her eyes in pleasure as she realized how very hungry she was. She waited for Lucas to take a bite if his food as well but he just stared at the food in front of him
"What is it? You don't like burgers?" Kayla asked
Lucas chuckled nervously
"I'm just not hungry" he said
"Are you sure? I thought you wanted us to have lunch" she said, confused
"No, I wanted you to have lunch" he said
Kayla was still not convinced
"Then why did you take lunch? You could have simply not taken lunch" she pressed
"I thought you might need to eat more. Everyone knows cafeteria food is hardly ever enough" Lucas said and gave her a smile that still did not convince her.
He was right though. She was almost never satisfied with the food she was given for lunch in the cafeteria. She was a foodie if she was being honest. It was a miracle that she was able to keep such a good shape. She could easily eat both his burger and hers; they were smaller than average.
It occurred to Kayla then that she actually had never seen Lucas eat before. He always just drank from the bottle he almost always had in his hands. She had thought that he did it because he felt he was too proud for cafeteria food but that was before she became close to him. But now that they were close, Lucas really didn't seem like the kind of person to think that way. Perhaps he just was not a really big eater or he really just did not like the food. But Kayla was not going to eat two burgers in front of a boy that she admires so much. She would be too ashamed to do that.
She chewed on her food quietly as Lucas looked on.
"You know, I feel a little uncomfortable eating under your gaze" Kayla said. She really was feeling quite uncomfortable. She was becoming too conscious of how she chewed and swallowed her food.
"Oh, but I like watching you eat" he said and when Kayla just stared at him, he added
"Alright fine" and then he brought out his phone and started to scroll through it. He smiled into his phone after a while and Kayla felt curious to know what was making him smile.
By the time she finished her burger, lunch break was almost over. She drank from the bottle of water in front of her.
"I'm done" she said
"You should eat my burger as well" Lucas said to her
"I'm full" Kayla lied
"Kayla, you don't have to be shy around me," Lucas said and gave her a little smile. But she was. His presence was overwhelming enough that it felt magical just sitting across from him. She couldn't help feeling a little shy around him even though she shouldn't considering that they almost just had sex. Things was always different during sex.
Kayla held his gaze and then she shook her head as she felt as if she was becoming hypnotized. She could not get over how handsome Lucas was.
"I don't think I even have the time to eat it even if I wanted it" she said and almost immediately the bell to signify the end of break period rang.
Lucas picked up the burger and gave it to her
"You can save it for later" he said
Kayla wanted to protest but realized she didn't have much time. She had to get to her next class which was french.
"Okay" she said and collected the wrapped burger from Lucas and then as an afterthought she added 'thanks'.
"You're welcome" Lucas said brightly and they both got up to leave the cafeteria. They walked together through the hallway and as Kayla got to her class, she hesitated, wondering if she should just walk away or give him a hug or a kiss before leaving him.
As if he could hear her thoughts, Lucas smiled and then he leaned in to give her a peck on her forehead.
