Chapter 25

Suddenly there was a knock on the door which made the both of them jump. The door creaked open but no one entered.
Lucas was still on top of Kayla completely naked with his skin moist and sweaty.
Everywhere was so quiet that they could each hear each other breathing.
"I'll go check" Lucas said as he climbed down from on top of Kayla. Kayla wrapped the duvet around herself as Lucas quickly put on his boxers and walked to the door. The room was a bit dark and so he turned on the light on his way. He got to the door and pushed it open a little. Then he peeped outside and turned his neck this way and that. Then his head came back I side.
"I can't find anyone" he said to Kayla as he climbed back into the bed with her.
"Weird" Kayla said but she couldn't help but wonder if it had been Lucas's strange brother Derrick
"Are you okay?" Lucas asked her as he peered into her face.
"Yes" she said
"It was probably just one of the other kids looking for a room to hook-up in" Lucas said and giggled. His laugh sounded cute, like that of a four years old.
"Maybe" Kayla said
Lucas laid down by her side and wrapped his arms around her. He felt her relax in his arms.
He wondered then if he should tell her about himself. Should he tell her who he really was? What would she do if she found out that he was a werewolf? She probably would not believe it. Not at first anyways. But he could show her. He could show her what he was and he was sure that that was found to scare the hell out of her.
"You okay?" She asked him as she trailed her arm down his chest
"Yes, I'm fine" he said as he gave her a peck on the head.
He was brooding and she could probably tell that something was bothering him.
He didn't want their romance to be over before it even began and yet he knew that that was what was going to happen if Kayla should find out that he was a werewolf.
She adjusted herself by his side and rested her head on his chest. It was adorable and he wanted to draw her into a tight embrace and never let go of her.
"Your heart is racing" she said from his chest. Her breath tickled him a little as she talked.
"What?" He said
"Your heart…it's beating really fast" she said and lifted up her head to look at him. He didn't know what to say to her. Werewolfs heartbeat was normally faster than regular humans and it was even strikingly faster when they were stressed or hungry and he was feeling particularly fast.
"Well…I'm not used to having such a damsel lying on my chest. Of course my whole body is excited" he said and smiled at her. Kayla smiled back and lay back down on his chest.
"Do you want us to go back to the party?" He asked her, stroking her hair
No, I just want to be here with you a while. I want to breath you and drink you" she said
Lucas chuckled
"That's quiet poetic" he said
"I'm quiet the poet" Kayla concurred
He wanted to drink her and breath her two. He wanted to just lay down there with her and make live to her and stare into her beautiful blue eyes while they shut out the world around them. He wanted the both of them to make their own world.
"Can I ask you something?" Lucas said as he ran his hands through Kayla's alluring eyes.
"Yes" Kayla said but Lucas said nothing and he could feel the air around the both of them grow thick with the silence
"What did you want to ask me?" Kayla said
"Never mind" Lucas said
"Come on" Kayla said and she looked up at him with her angelic eyes. He felt his heart beat even faster. Turns out she really had such an effect on him.
Lucas realized that he was just looking at her and smiling. She was still waiting for a reply from him.

The party was still going on in full swing outside and the noise reached them from the door. The music was so loud that even the bed they were on vibrated with the sound.
They were both going to fall asleep in each other's hands when they heard the sound of a siren.
"Oh no" Lucas said jumping up from the bed
"What's that?" Kayla asked him
"We have to go," he said as he quickly grabbed his shorts from the bed and hurriedly began to put them on.
Kayla got up from the bed and also wore her panties and bra then Lucas threw her gown to her as she put that on as well.
"What exactly is happening?" She asked him, still confused
"The police are here and we could get arrested," he said. He had already wore his own clothes and he held her hand and led her out the door.
"But we're not doing anything wrong," Kayla insisted. She really would like to just lie down on the bed with Lucas and not be disturbed.
"I mean except that we've thrown a rowdy party disturbing the peace of the neighborhood. And I bet you that more than one person has brought some illegal drugs not to mention the underage drinking and all" Lucas said
"But aren't we safer inside?" Kayla asked him
"They check the rooms. They come up, knock and demand that you open up" he said
The sound of the siren was beginning to get closer and closer. By the time they got downstairs, Kayla could see that almost everyone had disappeared.
Lucas quickly took her outside. From a distance she could see the flashing lights of the police car.
"Get in" Lucas said to her as he entered the driver's seat. Kayla entered through the passenger's side and sat down stiffly. Lucas started the engine and they zoomed off into the night.
