Chapter Forty-Seven
Stolas guided Annie and Candy out of the pack house and towards his jeep. It was older and beaten up with the many adventures that it had been on with him.
“Is it going to make it?” Candy asked with a smirk as she took in the dirt covered tires and the dent on the passenger side door. “I can always get one of the guys to lend me theirs.”
“Don’t insult her. Of course she will, she hasn’t let me down yet.” Stolas said as he patted the hood of the car before stepping closer and opening the passenger side door and offering his hand to help Candy into the backseat.
“She looks like she’s seen better days.” Candy said as she slipped her hand into his and grabbed onto the netting of the window, pulling herself in.
“She doesn’t mean it, she just needs to get to know you.” He whispered to the jeep, patting its door.
He turned to Annie and she raised an eyebrow up as she stepped closer to him. “I think your jeep has character.”
“She does, in you go sunflower.” He smiled, placing his hands on her hips, helping her climb into the passenger side. He closed the door, walking around to the driver’s side. He opened the door and climbed inside. Jamming his keys into the ignition, he started the car. Smiling sheepishly as the exhaust pipe rattles loudly. The sound filled the woods as he backed up and shifted into drive.
As they pulled onto the road, Stolas pressed his lips together as they passed a black luxury SUV. He looked into the rearview mirror, watching them turn into the packhouse’s driveway.
“What’s wrong?” Candy asked as she leaned forward.
“Those were dragons.”
“Oh, a flock of them live on the border of our lands.” Candy said with a shrug, “They must have been going to see Drake.”
Stolas nodded his head as he shifted gears, he didn’t want to tell her that he had felt something else in the car. Something familiar.
“It’s probably nothing,” Annie said, leaning over and giving his thigh a squeeze as Candy glanced back towards the pack house. Annie glanced back at Candy, “We can go back.”
“No, it’s okay.” Candy said as she turned to look back at Annie and Stolas, “I want to spend time with you two, if Drake needs me he’ll call or do that freaky mind link thing.”
“Freaky mind link thing?” Annie asked.
“You know, that mind link thing that all alpha’s have. Eli can do it too.”
Annie’s eyes got big as she shook her head, she’d never heard Beau mention anything like that at all, “Neat.”
“You didn’t know about it?” Stolas reached over and grabbed her hand, threading their fingers together.
“No,” She said, “I, I don’t think that Beau could do that.”
“Only true alpha’s can.” Candy said as she pulled out her phone. Sending a quick message to Eli before tucking it back into her pocket. A slow smile spread across her face as she leaned forward, brushing her fingers over Annie’s bare shoulder. “So what happened this morning, with yoga?”
“Um, yoga things.” Annie said, a blush creeping over her skin.
“Hmm, that’s what we’re calling it now?”
“Sex.” Stolas said, “The really good, mind blowing kind.”
“Stolas.” Annie said, pulling her hand away and covering her face as her cheeks flamed brighter.
“Baby, you don’t need to blush or be nervous about talking about this with me.” Candy said as she brushed her fingers over Annie’s neck. “I said it before and I meant it, I want you guys to be together. I just wish I had been there when you claimed him.”
“I’m sorry.”
“You don’t need to be, I’m just jealous that Stolas got you all to himself.” Candy said as she leaned closer, pulling Annie’s hand away from her face. “I get that way sometimes.”
“If you need one on one time, you can both tell me.” Stolas said as he navigated the roads, leading them closer to the theater. “I can go bother Sam for a bit. I know that all of our relationships are pretty new and it’s okay to need space. We are tied together for a long time and that can be a lot to take in.”
Annie looked over at Stolas. She didn’t know how she felt about his words. She didn’t want him to go away, but she did like the idea of spending time with Candy.
“Maybe we can work out a schedule?” Candy suggested only half joking.
“My raid nights are Fridays.” Stolas said, his lips twitching.
“So that makes it the perfect night for the two of us, well when I don’t have a gig with the guys.” Candy chuckled.
“I could always change them, I’m sure my guild would understand if we moved it.”
“That’s perfect, we do a lot of shows on Fridays and Saturdays, I’d love for you guys to both see us sometime.” Candy said, bouncing in the back seat. She could only imagine how it would feel to perform for them. She wished she had Eli’s talent for song writing, she’d love to write something for the two of them. To capture how they made her feel.
“Looks like we’ll be just in time to hit the concession stand without missing the previews.” Stolas said, glancing at the clock on the dash.
“You like the previews?” Annie asked, her nose scrunching up as she looking over at him.
“Of course, they’re the best part.”
“You’re weird, but I like it.” Candy said with a chuckle as Stolas pulled the jeep into the parking lot.
