Chapter Forty-Eight

“Did we really need all these snacks?” Annie said as she looked between Stolas and Candy, their arms loaded with candy, popcorn, and sodas.



“Shifter.” Candy said as she shrugged her shoulders and smiled over at her mate, “And I didn’t see you complaining when I asked for the sour watermelon candies.”



“I’m not, it’s just a lot.”



“We’ll work it off later.” Candy said, a plan already forming to make this date more interesting.



“I promise to share my popcorn,” Stolas said as they walked up to the attendant. “Can you grab my phone?” He asked Annie as he turned around.



Annie’s eyes widened and the tops of her ears burned as she looked down at his shapely ass. She couldn’t help the feeling of wanting to squeeze the flesh under her fingers, instead she used her thumb and forefinger to wiggle the phone out of his tight jeans.



“You could always use your other hand too, I wouldn’t mind.”



“Stolas.” Annie said, feeling the blush spread further as she finally got it free. She swiped the screen open and pulled up the app, showing it to the attendant.



Candy moved behind Stolas, bringing her leg up to kick him in the bottom.



“You didn’t have to kick me.” Stolas said with a chuckle.



“You don’t have to tease her so much.”



“It’s half the fun.” He cocked an eyebrow as he looked down at her, “You like it when she blushes too.”



“I’m not going to dignify that remark with a response.”



“Guys, let’s go find some seats.” Annie said, glancing over her shoulder at them as she walked closer to the darkened theater. The glowing lights making her almost glow as she tucked her hair behind her ear.



Stolas felt his breath catch in his throat as he saw the curves of her body through her sun dress, his mouth going dry.



“Wow,” Candy breathed out beside him and his lips quirked into a half smile.



“Same.”



“If you guys don’t hurry, we’ll miss the previews.” Annie called over her shoulder as she turned down the hallway.



Moving down the walkway, Annie paused, looking at all of the seats. She wasn’t sure of where to sit. Up closer, so they had a better view of the massive screen or further back, so they had more room to spread out and privacy. Nodding to herself, she realized that privacy would probably be the better options.



She walked towards the back, listening to Candy and Stolas and their playful bickering as she weaved her way in between the seats before sitting down in the back of the theater. Letting out a sigh as she sank down into the plush seat.



Stolas passed her the popcorn as he leaned closer to her, taking the seat away from the aisle.



“Why am I getting the popcorn?” Annie asked, looking down at the cardboard bucket of buttery, fluffy kernels.



“So Candy can get some if she wants it.” Stolas answered as he put their drinks into the cup holders and Candy sat beside her. The lights dimming as she settled down beside her. Annie watched as Candy tore open the bag of sour candy with her teeth before handing it to her with a smile.



“Thanks,” Annie said, their fingers brushing as she accepted the candy. There were the ever present fluttery feeling and she knew it wasn’t the babies kicking.



Stolas reached over, grabbing a handful of popcorn as the previews started the loud sounds a fast paced car chase filling the room and lighting up the screen.



“Ooh, we should go see that next.” Candy said, watching the car explode with bright eyes that made Annie smile.



“Already planning our next date?” Stolas asked as he wrapped his arm around Annie’s shoulders. He brushed his fingertips over Candy’s arm, making goosebumps rise.



“I’m assuming this one will go well, so yes.”



Annie pressed her lips together. Trying to hold back her smile as she looked down at the popcorn balanced in front of her bump. She grabbed a puffy kernel and took a bite. Savoring the rich, buttery, salty taste. The more time she spent with her mates, the more she liked them.



She reached back down for another bite of popcorn as the next trailer started and Stolas let out a happy sound. Her grin widened.



“That one looks good,” Stolas whispered as he leaned closer to her. Annie lifted her head, looking up at the couple embracing on the screen, their lips meeting as rain fell around them.



“Do you like romance movies or do you just like that I like them?” Annie asked before sitting the bag of candies on her bump and grabbing her soda taking a sip.



“I like making you happy, if I have to watch a cheesy romance.” Stolas said, his eyes meeting hers, “I will, besides I can watch action or horror movies with Candy.”



“I’m down for that.” Candy said, moving her hand to Annie’s thigh. Slowly pushing up the fabric of her dress so she could trial her finger over the smooth skin of her thigh.



“Candy.” Annie hissed.



“Shhhh, we’re watching the previews.” She smirked, looking at the screen as Stolas moved the popcorn out of Annie’s lap and into his own.



He’d thought that he had a high sex drive until he’d mated with these two. Now he realized that Candy put them all to shame and one of them was a succubus.



The lights went out as the movie started and Candy trailed her fingers closer, smirking as Annie’s hand shot out to catch her wrist.



“Candy,” she hissed again.



“This will make it more fun,” Candy whispered as she tilted her head to the side, looking at Annie. “I’ll stop if I can give you a kiss.”



“Okay.”



Candy smirked as she slid out of her chair and kneeled in front of Annie.



“What are you doing?” Annie’s voice was a low whisper as her eyes widened. Candy smirked up at her as she dragged her dress up higher.



“I didn’t say where the kiss would be.”
