Chapter 22

Mia's Pov
I woke up with a jolt, screaming my dead mate's name. Again the same dream. It came back again and again making me relive that dreadful night. I was loosing my mate everyday, I was watching him getting killed every night. Part of me wanted it to stop cause it was killing me, pushing me further into the darkness of depression and part of me wanted to still be connected to Victor in every which way possible. It was still dark outside and sleep won't be coming back. I got changed and went to training area.
I was back from Victor's mom and dad's place four days back. Dad had trained me well. I had this new confidence in me to take anyone that came against me. I even started my training job at Southern moon pack. Life was ok, it was somehow getting in routine.
Even Aya was back, where she was and why she had gone?, I didn't get answers from her. She just said she needed time to heal. She is a huge support for me. That day we both cried for eachother and for our loss. With her being back, I don't feel much lonely now.
It feels wonderful to run in dark and see earth waking up, first the birds starts chirping, then the orange glow covers the surrounding, the cold wind starts warming up, slowly the pack house starts making noises. After running 50 laps of the ground, I went to gym, by the time I reached gym there were already few pack members there. Nathaniel the Head Warrior, Micheal his assistant are first to come at gym. We have been training together from last four days. He is a nice fellow with great strength. Training with him teaches me a new techniques.
"Good morning Nathaniel, Micheal."
"Good morning, Mia. So what are we doing today?"

David's POV
Finally back to sweet home. I stretched myself getting out of the car and cracked my knuckles. It was a long drive. It felt great to be back to your base, to familiar surroundings, and that familiar scent. I got stiff, that scent again. Scent of fresh lilies, scent that took me in clouds. Derek gave out a happy howl.
'She is back' he said.
'Whoes back?' I asked instantly
"No...no one" what is he hiding from me and why?
'Aren't you behaving suspiciously?
'Look who is taking, you are the one who is behaving suspiciously. You didn't even spare a look to all the she wolves of Lunar moon pack. They were literally begging for your attention. You are already in love with your mate.'
'No ways. Non over there was worth me. Rest I am not interested in mates and all.'
'Wait for it, there will come a day when you will worship the land she walks on.'
'Keep waiting then.' I went inside, no one was around. That never happened usually, our pack house was always buzzing with people. Where is everyone. I saw my younger brother coming out of gym.
"Hey Vincent, how you doing buddy. Why there is no one around"
"Oh! Everyone is in gym. you need to see her, she is trashing all our warriors." Who was this she
"Who"
"That girl from Pearl moon pack, I going to call dad, he must see this" he went away, getting excited.
I went inside the gym, the whole pack was present. And I saw her. She flipped Mark and made him land flat on his back. Girls were cheering for her.
How dare an outsider trash my Warrior? I went in the sparring ring. Her back was facing me.
"Hey you, outsider. If you have guts than fight with me." I said getting in fighting stance.
"I am very much part of this pack as you are." She said turning to face me.
That's Warrior Kentucky's mate. Terek growled angrily. And why is she smelling so good, like fresh lilies. And fcuk, she is sooo.....so beautiful. I was so busy looking at her alluring face, that I never realised when she tackled me down on floor and had her elbow on my neck. Our eyes linked and my world stopped rotating. I felt tingles on my skin, the whole feeling was so fascinating.
"MATE" Terek shouted in my head.
What the hell! SHE. IS. MY. MATE!!!!!
Even she felt something, her eyes went wide, those mesmerizing brown eyes had shock in them and before I had time to react, she stood up and dashed out.
I was still on the floor, there were murmurs in the crowd.
"Ok everyone, back to your work." Dad's voice boomed in the gym and people started moving away. Terry came and helped me on my feet. He was looking at me amused. Vincent had his mouth agape, and dad had stern look on his face.
"David, come to my office" he said walking away.
Both Terry and Vincent were giggling by now.
I squinted my eyes at them and went behind dad.

Mia's Pov
"No...No...NO
This can't be happening, its not true. Hows that possible. How can he be our mate."
I had ran to my room and had locked myself here. I could still feel the tingles on my skin, where it had made contact with his skin. I tired to rub off his touch, I don't want it.
'He is our second chance mate Mia' Aya said in small voice.
'Second chance mate? But I don't want any other mate. Ugh! What do we do now? We should reject him...yes... thats the only way. We will reject him.' I was pacing around my room and getting restless.
'If he is your second chance mate then even you are his second chance mate. If you reject him then he can't be Alpha, cause there is no history of anyone getting third mate.'
'I DON'T CARE. don't take me on guilt trip Aya. Its not MY PROBLEM.
'He saved us Mia'
'SO! I didn't ask him to save me. I wanted to die with my mate. Who told him to save me.'
'Terek knew already' she mumbled.
'WHO IS TEREK, NOW.'
'Our mate. David's wolf.'
'Ok, And what do you mean he knew and....and how do you know all this.'
She huffed.
'Please don't get angry at me'
'Terek felt is on that day itself but he didn't tell his human so that you have time to recover. He connected with me and told me to keep away from you, so that you won't feel the mate connection. Umm...you need your wolf to feel your mate, and he did all this to help you to recover from trauma. To give you some time... before we can start ....umm...our life with...them.'
'How thoughtful of him' I said sarcastically.
'You seem to be already impressed by him Aya.'
"Mia..." Jace's voice came through mindlink.
"Yes Jace?"
"You need to come to hospital, he is almost here..." He said anxiously.
