Mia's POV

When I opened my eyes, I saw him sitting on the chair beside my bed, sleeping with his head dangling. I was in my room, the whole place was engulfed in darkness. It must be late in evening or may be night. I didn't even had my mobile to check time. It was at mom an....it was at Mr Kentucky's place.
I sighed looking at him. He was taking role of my brother way too seriously. Thanks you Victor for sending me someone, whom I can always rely up on. I remembered how he had kneeled beside me, how he had supported me. I can never be thankful enough to both of them, him and Bianca
"Jace" I tried to wake him up. He got up with a jerk after I had called out his name twice again.
"What....what happened?" He looked here and there taking in the surrounding and his eyes fell on me.
"Mia...are you all right? Do you need anything."
"I am fine Jace" I said sitting up on my bed
"I am ok now. You should go and sleep. Bianca must be waiting for you."
He nodded,
"let me know if you need anything" he said patting my head while leaving.
My mouth felt dry and my throat scratchy. I got up to have some water.
When I had drank few mouthfuls, I heard a voice.
"Mate" someone called out. For a moment I thought it was David, I turned around to look for him but he was not there.
"MATE?" Again that voice came scaring me
"Who....Who is it?" I think it was a mindlink.
"Its me Terek." Terek? How was he talking to me, did David told him or...
"Are you alright? You got me worried mate." He said in is husky voice filled with concern.
"I am fine, but how can you..you talk to me? Did..did he asked you to..."
"He is not aware of us talking. He is in deep sleep and I have... special powers that ables me to speak with others without his consent."
"Ohh!...ummm...Ok."
"I know you are not in state of mind to accept us as your mate, and we would wait for you as long as you want, but please don't leave from here. We won't be able to sustain. Just remember, I love you my love and Aya with my whole heart." I didn't know how to react to him.
"I need to go. Till we meet again...stay safe." He said and closed the link.
Till we meet again??. What does he mean.
His 'Till we meet' had not happened yet. Its been more than one and half month and I had not seen my MATE. Ya he had gone on some business trip that's what I had heard. I didn't dare ask anyone about his whereabouts. I was too egoistic to let anyone know how I was concerned about him. I was not ready to tell that to myself too.
"So, when are you gonna teach me to mask my scent" Vincent asked not taking off his eyes from mobile. He was sleeping on my bed with his feets dangling from the edge.
"When you stop playing your mobile."
He had been with me this last month and we had grown friendly. I had also became friends with Jessica and Luke. Infact Someone of them was constantly with me as if keeping an eye on me, if I thought of running away... Again..
There was knock at door and Luna Joyce peeped in.
"Hi Mia, do you have a minute?" She asked. She was training me to be Luna. Along with my Warrior training I had to go through Luna training as well, it was not like I didn't like it, the whole thing was fun. I never knew being a Luna was such a big deal. To take care of whole pack, listen to their needs and demands, giving your best all the time. Huff! it was way too difficult then fighting few rouges.
"Yes Luna",
"Oh! Vincent you are here", she said looking at him.
"Umm actually I and Dorman were thinking...that...if we could..you know have ..ummm... Alpha Luna ceremony on 26th of September...so I was wondering if you would be ok with it...or you still need more time....to you know..."
"26th of September...?"
"Ya its David's birthday so..what do you say?" She was standing there with hopes in her eyes
Moon goddess was definitely playing some cruel joke on me. It had to be 26 of September??? His birthday collided with Victor's. It was such a special day for me....
"Ok" I told her
She was so happy, she came and hugged me and left mumbling "there are so many preparations to done.."
"Finally you and bro will be together" Vincent said, I doubted it
"Will your bro be back from his business trip by that time?" I said stressing on Business trip.
"You know nothing about him right? Lets make a deal. You tell me how to mask my scent and I tell you about bro." When I didn't say anything, he smiled shaking his head.
"To start with David Stanford is a billionaire businessman dealing into shipping and cargo services. S&S that is Stanford and Stanford has capability of reaching the most remotest place on earth. And in human world he is called most eligible Bachelor." He was typing something on his iPad while giving me information.
"Check this out" he said passing me the iPad.
It was a magazine article, that was dated yesterday. His photograph on the front as he was holding a beautiful lady in his arms, both looking at each other with love.
"The most eligible Bachelor and cargo King, David Stanford can't keep his hands off his lady love Kelly Brooke at Charity event." I read the headlines loud.He said with smirk know how to react to him.
Vincent's POV
"The most eligible Bachelor and cargo King, David Stanford can't keep his hands off his lady love Kelly Brooke at Charity event." She read the headlines loud, trying her best to sound unaffected and handing me my iPad.
But she was effected hah! Yes, she was jealous, I could see it in her eyes. Mate bond was definitely working between these two and that's what I wanted to confirm. I had purposely shown her that particular article, There was nothing between Kelly and bro, but should I tell her that. Huh! I will have to I guess or else bro will kill me.
I cleared my throat.
"There is nothing between them, its just you know how paparazzi works."
"Yes of course I know." She started fiddling with some of her clothes in closet, trying her best to arrange them but they collapsed down just like her defence, her pretence to show me she was not bothered. She closed the closet door with thud, leaving things as they were.
"Can I have that for some time" she asked pointing at the iPad in my hand.
"Ya sure" I gave her iPad and started walking out. I will send Jessica here to accompany Mia. Bro had asked three of us to never leave Mia alone. Bro called me everyday and just asked one thing
'Where is she?' and after getting the reply he would disconnect. I am sure mom must have informed him about the ceremony and he will be back by then...umm hopefully. Ugh! Why am I tangled up in their maty matter.

Mia's Pov
Was I affected by the image and headlines... No definately not. It...its his life....he can do whatever he wants...he is quite handsome...so girls do fall for him and that girl was so pretty... they looked good together....I....I was nothing compared to her...2
I saw my face in mirror. It had been long since I took care of myself and my skin. It was so dull and tanned. Why will he look at me when he can have any girl. The most eligible Bachelor, that he is.
"Are you jealous?" Aya asked
"No ways and I don't..."
"I know, I know YOU. DON'T. CARE."
"Ya right I... just don't care." I push her back.
I was browsing through Google when a particular news caught my attention. I clicked on it to read it. It said
'Kelly Brooke the famous model announces her engagement with celebrity chef Adam knight' and there was picture of them. Holding each other's hands.
Who is this Adam knight and they are engaged? then what was the previous article? This Soon the day that I dreaded came
26th of September and you know what he was still not here. I decided not to think about anything at all.
I did my morning training session, went for run and did some excercise in gym. When I reached my room I got this relaxing smell.
He is here and he was in my room, I inhaled deeply taking his scent which filled my senses with joy.
There was something kept on my bed, I went closer to see. There was a laptop, an ipad and a mobile phone placed next to each other. Did he...why would he?... Vincent?..Luna?.... Jessica?
I picked mobile phone, which must be of some latest model and flicked it open. Image on the screen stopped my breath. It was... Victor's photograph, My Victor.
he was smiling, background of that photograph looked familiar. Oh! It was from here in Southern moon pack ground. It must be taken when he visited here. Ya...image was cropped cause there was a hand on his shoulder. It must be a group photo. I went to image gallery. There were 4 photos, all of Victor. One with Alpha Dorman and Alpha Jason, one with the whole pack, one was with Warriors and there was one more...I don't know how to breath.... it was Victor and David together, smiling as if nothing mattered in the world, hands on each others shoulders... I was not able to stand and slumped on floor. I didn't knew I had been crying this whole time.
There was a beep, a message from 'Mate'
'Hope you liked it?' is it from David? He saved his name in my phone as
'MATE'
Should I reply?? Why he gave me all these?
'Why?' I asked him
'A gift for luna of Southern moon pack' came the reply
'Why?' I asked again
'Why what?'
'Photographs?' Why was he being so thoughtful and considerate. He, my mate gave me photos of some other man...its so difficult to understand.
'I know you have nothing of him and I had these photos so...'
'Thanks' I send the message.
Then I remembered its his birthday today
And Happy Birthday. Sorry I didn't get you anything. I send the message again
'You are giving me the biggest gift ever. Thanks to you. See you in the evening.'
