Chapter 27

Mia's Pov
I was feeling restless from morning. It had been 4 days, since I left Southern moon pack, away from my only friends, away from Kevin and away from my so called mate. Though I was happy to be away from him, I missed Kevin too. His innocent face brought happiness to me, made me forget my emptiness.
Victor can't you come back, please come and take me in your arms once, just once...I wil be strong after that... please...
"Oh goddess Mia, what happened." Mom came and switched off the stove.
I was so lost in my thoughts that the whole chicken had burned into black mass right in front of my eyes giving out the strong burnt tar smell and black smoke.
"I..I am so sorry...mom...I..."
"It's OK Mia, no problem, I....I will clean this up. Umm....." She stopped at what was she saying and looked at me with concern. She masked her emotions and forced a smile on her lips.
"Sweetie, why don't you go in open air and water the plants in garden. I will cook something for us." She said caressing my cheeks.
I nodded and went outside. Still watering plants was not enough to make my racing heart stable. What was happening to me? I was in such a calm and peaceful surrounding, complete contrast with what was happening inside me. Is he coming for me?, Will he be able to find me, does he still wants me or...? He was filling my thoughts, how can I do that! How can I betray my Victor like this. I can't think of him. Stop!
I sat on the bench, furious with myself, why was I letting this mate bond affect me? I sighed and took a deep breath.
I opened my eyes with jerk.
No this can't be happening. NO. He can't find me, thats just not possible. How did he find me. His scent was getting stonger, he is coming.
"I told you, he will come." Aya stated.
I was vibrating my now clenching the seat of bench. I stood up and ran inside, locking the door of my room. I slumped on ground and covered my ears with my hands.
Soon I heard the noise of cars screeching in the front yard. Mom and dad will know now. They will not let me go... right?
"They can't stop him from taking his mate." Aya was not helping me at all.

I heard noises outside, they were talking with dad. I don't know what they were saying, but there was a knock at the door
"Mia, can you come out a bit." Mom's voice reached me.

Sara Kentucky's pov (Victor's mom)
I told Mia to go out and water plants. She could feel better in fresh air. What she was going through, I can never imagine. Looking at her die everyday was more killing then loosing my baby, my Victor. I miss him, but I had my mate, we had eachother to come out of this trauma. Mia was alone.
She was in depression. I have heard her screams at night, calling out her mate, calling Victor for help. A warrior's life is full of risks. My Victor had sacrificed his life for our pack, though we had lost him, I was proud of my Victor. He was always an ideal son, always made us proud. But my heart aches for him. I wanted to see him succeed in life, achieve everything he wished for, have pups with his loving mate. Life is not what we wish for and his memories brings a sharp pain in my heart.
But Mia, she had seen too much for her young age. She need someone to get out of this. Maybe a second mate. Can moon goddess be kind enough to bless her with second chances mate? She will die, if she continued to be like this. She wanted to be strong, avenge Vic's death. Mark had trained her well, why she came back again so late at night, I don't know. I and Mark were worried for her.
I saw her running to her room, actually Victor's room she insisted on staying there. What happened? I should talk to her. I was about to go when I heard cars stopping in our front yard. We hardly received any visitors, who are these people. As I went near the entrance Mark was already standing there. There were three black shiny cars, warriors came out and stood forming a wall behind. Driver of the middle car came out and opened the back door. A very handsome man came out wearing grey suit. His aura was very strong and dominant, he must be of hight ranking, maybe even an Alpha. What are they doing here.
"Who are they" I asked holding Mark's arm
"I don't know Sara, lets see" he said furrowing.
That man came forward and extended his hard towards Mark.
"Morning, Warrior Kentucky myself David Stanford, future Alpha of Southern moon pack."
Southern moon pack, thats were our pack members went after the mishap.
"Morning Future Alpha, hows Alpha Dorman?" Mark asked
"He is very well thank you"
"What brings you here future Alpha, how can I help you."
"I am here to take my mate and future Luna of Southern moon pack with me. I would appreciate if you could let me take her peacefully."
"Your mate? Am afraid she is here."
"I suppose she didn't inform you. Ms Mia Davis is my mate." He said confidently.
WHAT! She has a mate, a second chance mate, I was happy for her
"Are you sure Mia is your mate?" Mark asked.
"Yes sir, you can ask her, she came here without asking Alpha's permission and violating pack rules."
I went in and knocked on her door
"Mia, can you come out a bit." I asked her softly.We will miss her
I kept knocking on the door, but this girl was not ready to open up. Goddess is that Alpha telling the truth? We need to confirm with Mia first, but this girl....
"Mia open the door child, I am here, you don't have to be afraid of anyone." Mark told her knocking at the door.
She opened the door and stood there, her whole body trembling, her beautiful face worn out with tears and her brown eyes, red and swollen. I can't see her like this. She was not able to stand on her own. Oh! Moon goddess, why you are making her suffer so much.
"There is this Alpha outside who claims to be your mate. Is he telling the truth?" Mark asked her calmly.
Fresh tears rolled down on her cheeks, but she nodded positively.
"Has he hurt you or abused you in any way?" He asked in firm voice. She shook her head negatively.
I sighed in relief. Thank you goddess for giving my child hope to live, but she should acknowledge it...or else... No. I won't let her ruin her life by living in past. She has to move on...I should do something....
"Why you ran away from there then? And why didn't you told us?" Mark asked with concern. She just kept looking at floor
"Mia, please answer me child" mark asked desperately.
"I...I.. don't want any other mate...I don't want to be Luna..."she started crying
"l...want my Victor...I just want him...I want my Vic" she was sobbing uncontrollably. Mark engulfed her in his arms, his eyes filled with tears.
"He is not coming back, my child... he is not coming back. He is gone forever....you need to be strong and move ahead. Accept your faith and accept David as your mate." He released her and cupped her face in his hands kissing her forehead.
"Come, he is waiting for you" Mark took her hand and started walking towards the entrance.
"Please dad, don't make me go, I want to stay with you both" she tried to free her hand from Mark's.
I followed them outside. As we reached there she stood behind Mark, hiding herself from her mate. I looked at her mate. He clenched his jaws due to Mia's behaviour. Mia was showing her rejection towards him and it not easy for any Alpha to take it.
"There you are my Luna, I am so sorry I got late. My apologies, I think your mini vacation ends here and we should head home" David extended his hand for Mia, but this girl, she hid more behind Mark.
"Come on sweetheart, I know you miss them, we will come again to visit, promise." He said fisting his palms. He was somehow controlling himself.
I took hold of Mia's wrist, pulled her out and pushed her towards her mate. She stumbled but he took hold of her in his arms. Yes my girl is in safe hands.
"Take her away and never bring her back. I don't want person responsible for my child's death in my house"
