Chapter 58: Jealousy?

Hershey turned on the radio in the car, to the nearest soul R&B station. A Celine Dion song is playing. Her smooth sweet deep voice always seemed to calm Hershey. Celine Dion has to be her absolute favorite, and Toni Braxton too.

It seems as she got older, her taste in music changed more. When she was young, all she listened to was hip-hop. After her best friend Stacy died in seventh grade, she drifted into more soulful ballads and now, as an adult, she's completely into the soul, including some old jazz sounds.

Sighing, Hershey stopped at the traffic lights, when they turned green, she continued driving towards her house.

After opening the door, Hershey looked over at her nineteen-year-old sister, who had been studying with her for the past year at the local community college. She will go for an Associate degree in Business first and then go back to school to get a degree in fashion management. "Get up and help me with the groceries Vicki!"

"I don't recall Mom asking you to buy the whole store," Vicki stated, her gaze glued to the television.

"She didn't say, but I thought we could use some of these items, since they're on sale, now get up and help me."

Vicki ignored her, "You can't tell me what to do, I'm not a kid."

Hershey turned, "Fine, I'll tell mom about the..."

Before Hershey could get the words out, Vicki sighed and stood up, "You wouldn't."

"Yep, I fixed it, remember."

"No, that's black mail, Chocolate."

Hershey smiled, "I know, isn't blackmail good?"

Victoria growled at her, cutting her off with sharp hazel eyes. "Whatever!"

With that, she stalked outside. Just as he arrived at the front porch, Hershey heard a scream. Hershey frowned, Hershey, wondered which idiot friend had stopped by now.

Marc Junior closed his eyes, unable to believe the woman's voice. Wow, talk about a surprise. He watched as she ran down the stairs, into the driveway, and then finally stopped with him, throwing her arms around him in a hug. "OMG, where are you from?"

Marc laughed, "I'm in Shanghai with grandpa."

Vicki laughed, hugging him tightly. "OMG, I've missed you like crazy." Marc tried to get out of her hug like a bear hug, but it was difficult.

"Vicki, I believe you can let the man go, he's about to pass out." Hershey's voice was heard from the balcony.

Marc Junior looked at her, he felt his heart beat faster. Why can't she hug me like this? Why wasn't she this happy to see me? Finally, he felt Vicki's arms go weak, pulling away from him.

"Nice to see you too, Victoria." She glanced down at his frame, taking in the lean but built frame. "You look better today than you did two years ago."

Marc Junior nodded smiling. It sighed, "Thank you."

"What are you doing here?" asked Hershey, curious to know.

"When did you get here?" Vicki thought, her smile reaching his eyes.

"I came to help you unload the groceries, Hershey. Or did you forget you can't carry them by yourself?"

At his teasing grin, Hershey felt flutters in her stomach, "Me and Vicki can do it."

Marc closed his eyes, What's wrong with her? She had been so nice before, but now, she was standing there staring at me from the balcony.

"Don't listen to her, Marc. We need your help too." Vicki stated, her eyes glowing.

Once Marc Junior helped the girls move everything into the house, and they started putting away the groceries, Victoria, full of questions, began her first. "How old are you Marco Fernando Junior?"

Marc Junior grinned at her. That's not his thing. "I'm twenty years old, Vicki."

"Oh, wow, so is Chocolate. I always thought you were older than her."

Marc Junior shook his head, "No, she's three months older than me."

Glancing at Hershey, who was sitting on a stool in the kitchen, a bland expression across her features, he said, "I can't believe you never told me that."

Hershey sighed, "I wasn't aware that I had to."

"So, why did you go to Chicago?Shanghai?" Vicki asked, grabbing a fresh apple from the counter.

"Because I need a change of scenery." He smiled at her.

"Oh, yes, I'm sorry about baby Jeromy, and your mother, Danielle." Vicki stated, her tone sympathetic.

Marco Fernando Jr. looked over at Hershey, who was just sitting drawing imaginary circles on the countertop. Marc could tell by her demeanor that there was a part of her that was jealous.

"Thank you."

"So, what happened there?" Vicki continued to investigate.

"I think it's fine."

"Marco Fernando Junior, is that you in my kitchen?" Enter Mrs. Villamor ran into the kitchen and hugged him, if not tighter than Vicki had given him, with the same amount of strength.

Hershey looked from where he was standing and rolled her eyes, thankfully, her mother and stepfather are now there.

"I found him standing in the driveway, he'd seen Hershey at the supermarket and followed her home," Vicki replied happily. Hershey smiled at the summary of events. She made it sound like a stalker.

"I'm glad. Hershey, honey, do you know he's following you?" Her mother looked at him, a knowing look in her eyes.

Hershey shook his head, "No."

Her mother laughed, stepping away from Marco, to shake her husband's hand. "Hi, Marco, sorry for all the trouble."

Marco Junior smiled and held Gary's hand, "Oh, it's ok. It's not bad sir."

Gary smiled at the young man standing in front of him now. "So, how are you?" He congratulated him.

Marc Junior nodded, "In good spirits."

Gary laughed, "That's good."

Vicki was joking when she asked, "Please tell me you came to kidnap Hershey?"

Marc Junior laughed, fighting a much-wanted flush from coming to his cheeks.

Hershey on the other hand, glared at Vicki, "Shut up, she's back to take care of the house."

"So, are you going to sell it?" Gary asked.

Marc Junior cleared his throat, "I'm not sure yet."

"No? Are you going to live here?"

Marc Junior shook his head, "No, I'm only in town for a month, afterwards, I'm going back to Shanghai."

"Why don't you stay here?" Victoria asked looking at him.

Marc Junior sighed, choosing not to answer this question. Victoria looked at Hershey who looked deep in thought. She wondered what was going on in that brain of hers. Hershey was furious. Why do they feel the need to always ride? She wanted to find that information on her own, not hear it while others were there. Why do they all have to go? She wanted to get some information herself. She couldn't believe that Victoria had gotten more information out of him in two minutes, while she still hadn't gotten the place in Shanghai. As if reading her mind, her mother asked that. Biting her lip, Hershey sighed and stood up from the stool. She needed to go to her room, it was horrible.

About an hour later, there was a knock on Hershey's bedroom door, causing her to look up from her diary, which she was writing.

The bedroom door opened and she stood up, crossing her arms over her chest. "What are you doing here?"

"I knocked," Marc Junior answered, his gaze falling on her.

"I didn't say you could come in."

She stated, that her tone was a bit ugly. "What's going on with you Hershey?" His expression looked worried.

"Nothing."

Marc Junior nodded, "Hmm." Entering the room, he closed the door behind him.

When she sat on the bed, she looked at Marc Junior asking, "You want to talk about this?"

Hershey laughed and shook her head, "Nothing to talk about."

Although he said these words, his posture and facial expression said otherwise. Marc Junior stared at her for a few minutes, a smile on his lips. He got thirty seconds into the second minute when Hershey sighed and furrowed both eyebrows, "Stop it, please."

"Why are you mad?"

Hershey folded her arms, and the defense rose. "I'm not angry."

"Oh you just pouted for nothing. Your eyes narrowed and your hands on your hips just because you wanted to?"

Without thinking, Hershey shouted, "Yes!"
