Chapter 66: The Parents Of Marco Fernando Junior
"Does everything always surprise you?" She smiled flirtatiously.
"As for you, yes." Hershey raised an eyebrow, "What are you trying to say?"
Marc Junior shook his head, "You're nosey."
"Not nosey, just inquisitive." She corrected.
Marc Junior laughed, "No, sugar, inquiring is when you ask to gain a better understanding."
"Nosey, is when you ask things that are just out of your mind-things that really have nothing to do with you." Hershey stood up from her chair, hands on her hips, both eyebrows raised, ready for war. "How is it not appropriate for me to have dessert when you invite me here?"
Marc Junior walked up to her, stopping a few inches in front of her face, his eyes shining. He really turned her on.
"Because, I clearly said that it was a surprise. Everything I'm going to do for you tonight is a surprise."
Hershey's lips pout. "Why is there a need for a surprise?"
Marc Junior smiled. She's really cute like this. He likes it when she's mad. She really thought they were fighting. "I like it because I thought you could use one. A nice relaxing evening with wine, a nice dinner and company. Is it a terrible thing?"
Hershey's heart pounded in his ears. He stood there, processing his words, processing this idea, not really knowing what to say or do. With a trembling voice, he whispered, "Ok."
As her lips loosened and the poutiness disappeared, he scanned her features, feeling recognition as he stroked every curve of her face. Why does she have to be so beautiful? Swallowing deeply, he looked into coffee-brown eyes and felt his heart melt. As he did this, his eyes seemed to glow. She swallowed, and that's when he saw the quickening pulse in her neck. Leaning in, he pressed a kiss to that spot. A different scent hit his nose than purple.
"What is that?" Marc asked, his mouth still on her neck.
"Jasmine." She whispered.
His nose traveled down the length of her neck, feeling the blood rush through her furiously. He felt a stiffness in his groin area and then an urge to rub his tongue along the soft curve of her neck. This perfume appeals in a different way than, lilacs. The lilac is sweet, it seems to attract you. Jasmine smells different. It teases your nostrils that float up and creates heavy swirls in your mind. When mixed with her perfume it caused a stronger reaction. He sighed heavily. This caused his sudden retreat. He put his hand on the place where he breathed. Marc grinned, "What? Did I bite you or something?"
Hershey shook her head. "No, the ribs are chilled now."
Marco Junior lowered his eyes to her and left his thoughts in the air, what's wrong?
After they ate dinner, talked, and waited for the food to digest, Marco Junior took the bottle of wine and carried it into the living room, where Celine Dion was playing on the radio. Hershey stood up without resistance and followed him. He placed the glass on the table and opened the bottle. Hershey watched as the light pink liquid filled the glass.
She picked up her glass, thanked it, and took a sip. She put the glass down again. Marco Junior also placed the glass on the table and stood up. Going to the radio, he moved the dial-up, turning up the melodic sounds of Blackstreet's, don't leave me, girl. Walking up to Hershey, he held out his hand to her, his eyes on hers. He grabbed her hand and pulled her upright to sit on the couch. Pulling her into his arms, he held her as they danced to her favorite song. A minute into the song, she lifted her head from his shoulder and asked, "So, how's everything as far as Jeromy's room and your mom are concerned?"
Marc looked at her, "I've done Jeromys' room."
Hershey swallowed the sadness that was forming in her throat. "And your mother's?"
A sad sigh came out of his mouth. "I don't have the strength to start that yet."
Hershey gave a small smile, "Maybe you need a little push to make things better."
Marc sighed, "Every time I go into her room, I'm so tired and leave right away."
Hershey touched Marc's lips. "Maybe I can help you with that."
Hershey volunteered.
Marco Junior raised a surprised eyebrow at her, causing a smile to appear on her features. "You're really going to help me do that?"
Hershey shrugged, "Why not? I would prefer my help than allow you to go through this alone."
Marc sighed, "Yeah. I could allow that."
"So, I'm offering it, if you want." Hershey stated, her fingers started kneeling into his neck absent-mindedly.
"Alright, you're cool Chocolate."
Marco Junior agreed as he rested his head on her shoulder for the second time. As this song faded, a song of Bon Jovi's Always came out. Marc ran his hands down her back and up her shoulders. Listening to the lyrics, his fingers trailed up her shoulder, her neck. He ran them in a circular pattern around her neck, giving her the same pleasure he gave her. He sighed and closed his eyes.

Hershey awoke that night to find shadows surrounding her every move. She wiped her eyes, she looked at the full moon through the window. The stars twinkle in the sky, illuminating the dark space. Sighing, she looked around, reminiscing about Marc and her dancing in the living room.
Sighing, she looked down, expecting to see him beside her, but instead, she did not find him lying on the bed. The covers slipped off her shoulders and around her waist. She noticed for the first time, that she was wearing purple and white striped pajama pants, which she hadn't seen since she moved into the house. Running her fingers through the material, she smiled, thinking of the day she got them at the mall. Before she found out she was pregnant. Her old pajamas were getting too small and she bought elastic ones, that way she could make them bigger. She didn't know how true that statement was then. A few weeks later, she found out she was pregnant.
Taking a deep breath, she pulled the covers off of her and felt her way to the room. When she found the door, she opened it and discovered that she was not in her room. She was in the old room of Jeromy – her son, the deceased. Looking around, she saw an old antique bed placed there, a dresser and a small couch completed the ensemble. Leaving the room, she pushed open the door and walked down the hall to the bathroom, wondering what time it was.
After going to the bathroom, she took the stairs to the living room and went to get her things from the sofa. When she got down there, Marco Junior was sitting on the sofa, watching a movie. When he heard her reach the last steps, he asked, "Did I wake you up?"
Hershey smiled, "No. I came down here to get my stuff." She walked over to where he was sitting on the couch, to the side of the sofa, where her blazer and purse sat. She took the bag and put it on her shoulder.
When she heard laughter from the screen, she looked at the television. A young woman was staring back at her, with waist-length black hair and bright gray eyes. "I think I will love this man forever." She said to the camera."How do you know you'll be with Marco Fernando for the rest of your life, Danielle?"
Young Danielle glanced at whoever was filming and smiled sweetly as if she had a secret. "Because I just know that if I'm not with Marco, I have no one to be with. He's my sun, my moon, he's the stars that light my path, the reason I breathe."
Marco Junior looked back at Hershey's shocked features.
"How did you get this footage?" she asked.
Marco stared at the screen, "I grew up in this house Hershey."
"You didn't tell me you had videos of your mother's youth."
"I didn't know they were here until last week, when I was cleaning out the attic."
"How many of these does she have?" Hershey asked sitting next to Marc.
"A little. This was a shot during her third year of college by a girl named Deborah."
"Really?"
"Yes. They went on a camping trip, all the students for a three day nature hike in one of her management courses and Debra here, with a recorder."
Hershey raised two eyebrows, "Wow."
Marc sighed, "She's beautiful, isn't she?"
Hershey smiled, staring at a young Danielle. "She is gorgeous."
The girl filming the video, Deborah asked Danielle one last question, "What will you do if you and Marco Fernando break up?"
Danielle laughed at the camera. "That will not happen."
"Why not?"
"Because he loves me more than life itself."
"What makes you sure?"
"Because I know my man."
"What makes you think he won't leave and be with another girl when you least expect it?"
Danielle sighed, pointing at the surroundings. "Look." The camera panned and they were greeted with a picture of beautiful trees and grass. When the camera was focused on a group of people talking, the person holding the camera called out to a man named Marco Fernando. Hershey gasped as a man glanced up from talking to two men within the group. He felt his breath catch in his throat, and his heart beat faster. His eyes were the exact same color as Marco Junior's, long hair framing his features, along with a trimmed beard.
