Chapter 18: Start Acting
On the next Monday, Daniella is already in her classroom. She sits down and is stunned by the absence because there are only a few students outside and inside their classroom. It was only six o'clock in the morning, and later, at 7:30, the bell rang to signal that students should already be inside the school and classroom.
While Daniella was in that state, William entered but suddenly stopped for a moment when he saw Daniella. Even though he didn't seem to want to step on his feet, he went ahead and sat down in his chair. The silence passed, but Daniella didn't really change positions or even look back when William arrived. William hesitated to talk to Daniella, but when he tried to start speaking suddenly, Charice entered the classroom.
She greeted William. "Good morning, William!" the smile on her face from ear to ear before she sat down in her chair.
William ignored Charice because his attention was on the other chair, where Daniella was sitting. A few minutes passed, with all their classmates already inside their classroom, so William could not talk to Daniella.
When Bree came and sat next to Daniella, she seemed to feel different from the person next to her. She turned and looked at Daniella carefully because of her aura. "Daniella, are you sick?"
I looked at her lazily and just shook my head at Bree's question. "If not, what is the scene you are in, and why do you look like that?"
"To be different," I said in a serious and strange voice. Unlike in the past weeks, she is different—a lively and cheerful woman.
Bree frowned when she stared at Daniella, but she didn't speak again because her friend was too weird today.
After their English lesson, it's breaktime, and they can leave the classroom. Daniella stood up and walked straight and didn't even take a single glance at William, which surprised him because every time he did something or even left the classroom, Daniella greeted him immediately, but now even a single glance didn't do it to him.
Bree noticed it, so she immediately followed Daniella, who was now sitting in the garden chair.
Bree immediately sat down in the empty seat in front of her. "Dan, do you have a problem?"
"None. Why?"
"What is going on between you and William right now?"
I regained my true self and exhaled all the nervousness I felt earlier. "Huh! It's hard to be an actress." while fanning myself.
Bree confusingly asked. "Actress?"
"Yes, like an artist you see on television."
"So you mean you're acting now?" while Bree's face was almost wrinkled.
"Yes, that's true."
"What for?"
I folded my arms. "Because of William."
"Why?"
"He didn't show up on Saturday. I waited three hours for him but no William showed up."
"That's why you act like that?"
"Yes."
Bree massaged her temples. "What are you, Daniella? Maybe there's an emergency so he didn't go right away; maybe later he went, but you're gone."
My eyes widened. "Even if you turn the world upside down, I still waited for him for three hours and went earlier, and then he let me wait for three hours. Not because I have a crush on him, I will be a fool."
Bree's eyes narrowed as she looked at me. "Is it true that you don't look like a fool to William? Almost from the first year until now, you've been his stalker."
I looked at her badly. "Are you a friend or an enemy?"
Bree just scratched her neck. "Why do you have to act like that?"
"Of course for him to feel the pain of my heart because of what he did." I even acted as if she was hurt.
"You're overacting too much. You can be the best actress."
I smiled up at her ears. "Really? You think I could be an actress." I blinked my eyes a few more times.
Bree just shook her head. "But I'm curious. Where did you get the idea like that, Daniella? "
I sniffed and blew out her cheeks inside. " From mushrooms."
Bree's eyebrows near to met. "Who is that, and is there a name like Mushroom?"
"I had time to talk to him in the plaza while I was waiting for William last Saturday."
There was no reaction on Bree's face as she stared at me. "Why?" I asked.
"Maybe I'll just hear that you're missing. You're talking to someone that you don't know in the first place."
While I and Bree were talking, Charice suddenly approached, her one eyebrow raised and her arms folded. "How was your day last Saturday?" Charice asked with a small smile on her lips.
The two looked at each other, and Bree replied. "Why are you asking how Daniella was on Saturday? You're her friend?" She asked in a sarcastic tone.
"You're not the one I am talking to." She even glared at Bree.
Bree can't believe while looking at Charice, but eventually she rolled her eyes at Charice's attitude.
While Daniella was just watching the two. Charice turned her attention back to Daniella. "I don't think your Saturday was good." She smiled, as if teasing.
"Why are you still asking? What do you want to imply?" I replied while my forehead wrinkled.
"Didn't William tell you that he and I were together last Saturday?" And she pretended to be shocked by what she said.
I frowned and wondered while looking at her. "Both of you were together last Saturday?"
"Yes, and he said he has a meeting. I didn't know he was going to you, but I'm sorry for you. He accepted my invitation to have a date rather than be with you." She grinned and had a look like I wasn't William's first choice.
My face became serious, and I couldn't see any emotion. "You know that he has a person to meet? Why do you seem to be pushing yourself? If you know he's going somewhere, you should be the one to adjust. You're using what you used to have, and you think that just a little excuse will really make William feel sorry for you, " I smiled at Charice, but deep inside, I was hurt by what she said.
She angrily looked at me. "I didn't use what we had together when we were kids just so he could accompany me on the mall. He chose, and I was the first person he chose. I'm William's priority rather than you having the illusion that William would be his boyfriend! "
My hands were already clenched, and my teeth were secretly biting the inside of my cheek due to the fact that she was right. Charice was heavier than the woman who always followed and stalked William since they were just in their first year of school.
I still made a face even though I was hurting, then I stood up. "You look smart, but why don't you know why William and I will meet that day? I'm also sorry for you. You knew that we have a schedule to meet on Saturday, and there are only two choices on how you knew. First, William tells you about it, or second... " I looked at her in the eye. "You're too good at catching news."
"What—?" Charice was about to speak, but I stopped her.
"Don't you know you're putting William in the hardest situation just because of your insecurities with me?" I shook my head. " And don't you dare, because if I think of making a plan, it's not me who will face the anger of William, it's you. Just try to repeat what you did." After that, Daniella left while Charice and Bree were stunned. Bree had been watching the two of them, and she didn't try to join because Daniella looked like a different person.
Bree walked and stopped next to Charice. "You make Daniella angry too much. Don't you know that a good person is more frightening than a bad person who really has the same attitude as you?" Charice's eyes glazed over at her. "If you can be a lion, she can be a dragon that blows a fire to burn you until you become ashes." She smirked and left Charice with a furious face.
