Chapter 34: The Choice Student

The day went by and other students hadn't moved on from the program, so some still didn't go to school, but Daniella and the other students went in, and their section adviser explained something today.

"It looks like students are few today? It looks like everyone else's vacation is early. " She was still smiling even though she was right when she said that there were only a few in Daniella's class section now.

"So, even if this class has only a few students, I'll break the news." She stood in front of the students. "You know, it's halfway through the school year, but the head teacher tells us whether we have good news or bad news. Which of the two is whether you're happy or not. But the news is that there is an exchange student who will come here from another school. " The students murmur what their teacher had said.

"Quiet! And the one at the other school is a boy who will be sent here, so the head teacher decided this school representative is a girl, to exchange temporarily."

Bree approached Daniella. "Daniella I'm sure it's you," Bree whispered.

 "Why me?" I answered weakly.

"'You say that you're smart, and I know intelligent students are the ones who exchange."

I frowned. "So, why should I be sent? I'm not very smart."

"I thought you were smarter than William. Why is the wind blowing differently now?" She even smiled at me.

My eyes widened. "Yes, but at this time I was a girl who only had average grades for all subjects."

"But—" Bree took a breath. "It looks like what you said is true."

I raised my eyebrow. "Listen to ma'am first. You are so talkative."

The two just listened again. "Because when there is such an exchange student, the intelligent students should be sent there. But because women are needed in this class section, I will choose this option. Even though we have the first section, I can't choose William because he is a boy and he has tutoring right now. So the one I chose to send to that school was Charice. Charice, on the other hand, was stunned by what their teacher said.

Charice couldn't believe it, or she didn't agree with their teacher's suggestion. "But, ma'am, I'm not that smart for me to choose."

"Don't worry, Charice; I checked the records and found that you are the most qualified of all the female fourth-year students."

"But ma'am—" She couldn't say what she wanted to say when their teacher stopped her.

"That's my final decision, Charice, and it also has extra grades in the final grade, so I hope you don't refuse." Their teacher smiled and sat down again.

Charice was disappointed and just leaned back in her chair because she didn't want to leave their school because she couldn't see or talk to William for a month.

"I'm a little disappointed with what ma'am said, Dan," Bree said.

 "Why?" I wondered.

"I thought ma'am would choose you."

"I told you I'm not smart today; it will come back tomorrow, so Charice was chosen today." I was even proud to say it.

"Or maybe Charice is really smarter than you, Daniella."

I looked at Bree badly. "I rarely show my talent, even though you can't see that, so shut up there, Bree." I leaned my back on my chair and folded my arms as if sulking.

"I can't believe in your fighting spirit, Dan. I can't stand you for that." She was still annoying Daniella.

In the end, the two also ended up talking as if they were going to fight, but they weren't, because that's how they would really tease each other.

But Bree approached Daniella again. "What was your mother's reaction to your winning the pageant?"

"Happy, of course. What do you want my mom to be sad about that? Her daughter needs support." I simply raised my hand, but only to the opposite side of her face.

"Good then, but—." Bree came even closer to me. "It looks like William's barrier for you will temporarily disappear from your path."

 "Who?"

"Who else? Look in front of you." I looked to the front. " Do you see?"

My head tilts to the left. "Blackboard?"

Bree just closed her eyes and bit her lip so as not to make too much noise. "Who did I say? It's not what, Daniella. I'm referring to Charice," she whispered.

"Tsk, even if she leaves here, she will still come back."

"But what I know is about one month as an exchange student, and the male exchange student will be our temporary classmate. I'm still excited to see that," Bree said, with a smile, looking at the absence.

I pinched her arm. "The focus is on studying, not on who that person is who will be a temporary classmate."

Bree's eyes narrowed. "What are you doing for William, you're even worse than me? But at least I'm studying, and then wait..."

I turned to Bree. "He's my tutor, so I'll probably notice him."

"Excuse me." Bree sighed. "Let's just listen." She sat straight.

But when the class was over and they were still not coming out of the classroom to eat, Charice faced them as she sat in her chair. William was no longer there at that time because he had already gone out with the students.

As the two, Bree and Daniella, were talking, Charice suddenly spoke. "You have a chance for William now."

But the two continued the conversation as if they had not heard what Charice said. Her forehead furrowed, and she raised her voice slightly. "Hey! You two." Then Daniella and Bree turned their gazes to her.

 "Why?" Daniella asked.

"I am talking to you!"

Daniella looked at Bree in surprise. "Huh! You never told me we were going to talk today."

Charice's grip tightened on the back of the chair. "I'll only be gone for a month, so don't be happy that William will notice you."

I sat properly and faced her. "I haven't done anything yet. You're already mad. You must be happy because you're the chosen exchange student at another school." I even smiled teasingly at her.

"If only I could not obey and you would be the one to send it, but I thought you were just a weak-minded person sending it there in your head." She even smiled at me with meaning.

Bree joined the conversation. "The way this woman talks, William is even smarter than you." Bree wanted to stand up in extreme annoyance.

"Well, I'm not saying I'm smarter than William, but I'm going to say I'm smarter than your friend." Look at Daniella at the same time.

I was using almost all of my strength to keep Bree from standing in the chair, because, by any chance, all of Charice's hair was removed. "Calm down first; I'm the topic here, so I have to give her a lesson."

Bree's loss subsided, so it was time for me to speak. "You're smart, but you don't have any manners. Don't you know that that's more important than the intelligence you say? It's really a bonus if someone is smart, but the manners. " I shook my head. "You don’t have that, but I'm wondering if you're smart, why don't you know that? You should know that because people will get to know you better there, and they'll know you're a real person based on what you show and take note that's not being learned like in our lesson. Because if you don't have that now, it means you're a fake person who pretends to be nice even if you're not. " I grinned and pulled Bree to stand up, leaving Charice irritated as the paper on top of her desk was already crumpled with the excessive pressure of the grip.
