Chapter 29: School Pageant Start
When they were close to the backstage, Bree forgot to put the gloves on Daniella. "Wait! I forgot the gloves. You can go first in the backstage. " Even though Daniella couldn't answer, Bree left quickly, so Daniella decided to go backstage.
When she entered the backstage, it was already dark, so only the light of the lights could be seen when she entered the backstage. She saw other candidates who would also be wearing beautiful gowns, even if they could be said to have a chance to win when it comes to posture and beauty. She smiled at them before going to one part of the backstage where only the curtains were barred by other candidates.
When Daniella parted the curtain on the other side to enter, the host said they needed to get ready for the candidates to come out. But what she didn't expect to come across was Charice. They were the only two that were in the same retouching and waiting area in the backstage area, but it looks like there will be more problems.
Charice looked at me from head to toe. "Wait a minute. What—?" Charice didn't continue to say the next word to Daniella when Bree suddenly entered.
"What are you still standing for, Daniella? Why don't you sit down first? Why are you blocking—" Bree's gaze shifted to Charice, who was now frowning at them.
Charice stood up and looked at the gown Daniella was wearing and at Bree. "No way!" she suddenly said. Daniella's gown and Charice's are almost the same style, but there are only a few details that are different from Charice's gown because it looks more elegant than Daniella's, which is simple.
Daniella's gown is silver white with a turtleneck and is sleeveless, and a veil is visible through the bride on the surface of the fabric gown. Charice's gown is just the same style as Daniella's; it's red in color, has a turtleneck, and has a hole in the middle of the chest, while Daniella's gown does not have that, but the fabric of Charice's gown is brighter than that of Daniella's. It's a good thing they have different hairstyles because Charice's is raised in a bun.
"My suspicion correct? You imitated the style of my gown when we met at the shop," Charice accused Bree.
Bree walked forward, so Daniella is now behind her. "For your information, I was the first person to enter the shop, then how do you say I imitated the style of the gown Daniella wore? We just saw when your gown was in the box, so what are you saying? " Bree raised an eyebrow at Charice.
An angry Charice looked at Daniella, who just frowned at her. Charice was supposed to speak, but the host spoke up. "To all the candidates backstage, please prepare yourselves because the program is about to start right now."
"Come here, Charice, let's have a final retouch before you go to the stage." Charice was pulled away by a woman who looked like Charice's make-up artist. Charice just sat a few steps away from Daniella's place.
Bree was very annoyed with Charice. "Charice is exaggerating. Your gown doesn't look the same with details of the same style, but not totally, and the color of the gown is not the same if she knows the colors. " Bree held my hand, then put gloves on it. "Don't think too much. Even if you're wearing something simple, you're still the most beautiful in my eyes."
My forehead was still furrowed. "But why do we look like we're wearing the same gown even though there are other details that are not in my gown?"
Bree stared at me. "Daniella isn't about the gown to win. Remember, show everyone outside why you should take home the title of the "Most Beautiful Woman" at this school. " Bree smiled at me at that time. "So don't worry if you hear anything from the students, okay, just avoid it so you won't be distracted. " Bree pulled me aside and stopped behind the curtain where the candidates would appear.
They no longer continued to wear a fitted top and shorts to emphasize how they ramped. It's impossible to do that because other programs, such as the placement of booths that students could try out, were also included, so even the teachers did not have enough time to do another program separately.
The music began to play. "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome our candidates for the "Most Beautiful Woman" in this school!" The students applauded and were excited about the candidates, even in their gowns, but what everyone was waiting for were the answers to every question from the judges.
Nearly 15 candidates came out from behind the curtain, and you would really think a big pageant was happening with the number of participants and the different gowns, they all seemed to be competitive. Daniella's candidate number is 5, and Charice's is 1. The candidates began to walk and flex their gowns and learn how to connect with the audience. Everyone screams, especially if the other candidate has a gimmick for walking, even in a gown, but Daniella is nervous right now because there are so many students in front of her. Number 4 is back, so she's ready to ramp.
I showed a smile before starting to walk, but when I stopped near the front of the students, I heard something. "Look at candidate number 5. Why do they look like the same design of gown as candidate number 1? The difference is that her gown is white," the student said who was quite loud despite the music. Daniella tried not to be affected and continued what she was doing, still having a smile on her lips.
The rampage part is finished, and their respective rows are based on what number they had on the side of their gown. "What a good start, ladies. You are all beautiful with your make-up look and, of course, the gown. " But one student handed a paper to the host. "Just a moment, and it looks like I just need to read something." The host read what was written on the paper and seemed a bit hesitant to say what the paper contained.
"It doesn't look like this pageant will last long because you are all students, and other houses will be far away, and it will be dangerous on the road if it takes us even longer, so we won't go to the top 10 and be given a number of questions per candidate. Instead, I will only say the final five now and be given one question to win this program. "
Others were disappointed with the host's announcement because of the number of candidates, but others could not even be given a chance. "Okay, here's the result. The five will enter the final five and fight for the crown. Number—" The announcer waited a few seconds before inviting the five candidates in. "12, 6, 8, 1, and number 5!" The student was shouting because they appeared to be with the candidate they desired or in the classroom to which they belonged.
