Chapter 33: William Smile
Meanwhile, William just took Charice to her house before finally going home. Charice still wanted to talk to William, but when Charice got out of the car, suddenly William drove off and left without saying anything. William wouldn't have been the driver of Charice from her house to school, but it looks like she has made her way to William's mother again to accompany her, so William's mother forced him to just drive Charice to school because he was also going to a school program.
William got home and parked his car inside the garage of their house, but he noticed that the light was still on inside the house, so he was sure someone was still awake. When he got out of the car, he walked to the door in front of their house, but when he opened it, he saw Lydia drinking coffee while sitting on the sofa in the living room.
William approached Lydia. "Lydia, why are you still awake?" he asked.
Lydia may not have immediately noticed that he entered the house because it looks like she was thinking too deeply. "You're already here. I didn't notice that you came."
"You seem to be thinking deeply, Lydia. Do you have a problem?" He finally sat down in the chair opposite Lydia.
"I just miss my children, even though they have families now."
"Aren't you seeing each other?"
"Every time I go home to our province, they visit, but as a mother, I miss my children, especially when they are young, and they always call the word "mama" whenever someone asks what they want." She was still smiling as she told the story. "You, William, maybe you have a crush on your school. That's what it's called when there's a woman you admire now."
He smiled. "Nothing," he replied.
She looked at him in disbelief. "Are you sure?" But William replied with only a smile.
"I'm sure there are some girls in your school who admire you and who can't fall for your handsomeness."
"No, I'm not."
Lydia gives him a weak laugh. "Even if you don't say anything, I'm sure there is, but if you have a woman you admire, there's nothing wrong with that, but she should just be just up there for now. That's all you have to do, because you're young. I'm not your parent, but I do not want you to hurt others just because you fell in love early but couldn't stand it until the end. "
"Don't worry, I'll remember what you said."
Lydia got up with the empty cup in her hand. "That's good. Go to sleep, and I'll go back to sleep. I'm going to wake up early to prepare breakfast."
"All right, you go first."
"Okay. Don't stay here in the living room any longer." She walked to the kitchen and then went to her room.
William leaned back on the sofa and closed his eyes. Later, he picked up his cellphone, and, after a while, he was smiling as the screen of the cellphone faced him. He put it back in his pants pocket and walked towards his room.
The next day, there was no class because the students were definitely asleep, and sure enough, no one was coming either because almost half of the students from 1st to 4th grade were already at school last night. That’s why Daniella is still asleep and still hasn't gotten out of bed.
Her mother knocked. "Daniella, get up! It's lunch time! You haven't eaten yet!" she shouted outside Daniella's room.
Daniella, on the other hand, could hardly open her eyes because she was so drowsy and suddenly remembered that she hadn't removed her make-up since last night, so the result was that her eyelid looked like she had put some glue on it, so the result was that she was struggling to open it. She got up and looked in the mirror.
I looked at myself carefully and smiled lazily. "I wouldn't have thought I won last night with how I look today." I shook my head and went straight out of the room to the bathroom to wash.
After washing my face, I immediately went to the dining room, but before that, I could pass through the living room of the house, and I saw my mother looking at the crown and cloth with the words, "The Most Beautiful Woman Winner," so I stopped for a moment.
"Mom, maybe that will melt away with your intense stare," I said in a newly awake voice.
Her mother's forehead furrowed. "Why is this not ice cream to melt? Wait, what do you think of my eye having a laser? " She looked at me curiously.
"You said that, Mom, not me."
"You!" When my Mom nearly to approach me, I ran to the kitchen.
I sat down and saw the fried fish dish on the table. I took a plate and put rice and a dish on it, and then I started eating, but while I was eating, my mother sat in the chair next to me.
"You're the student winning at the pageant, am I right? Well then, congratulations."
She smiled at me because I knew I made her proud. I drank some water before answering. "Yes, Mom, I didn't wake you up last night. You're already sound asleep."
My mother fixed her seat and asked what I didn't expect her to ask. "What is your question and answer to the question so you are the winner?"
I was about to put the rice in my mouth but didn't continue because of my mom's question. I'm hesitant to answer because if I think again and remember all the extra long answers I gave last night, my head will hurt. "My answer was good, Mom, last night, so I'm the one who won the crown," I said with a little bit of nervousness in my voice.
"You should remember what you answered last night because it was your best moment, so you won."
I just close my eyes. The length of what I said and the other words I inserted in my first answer are so long that how can I still remember what I answered. "As long as my answer is good, Mom, that's why I'm the one who named The Most Beautiful Woman Winner. Don't ask again what I answered. It's long, Mom, it's like an essay. "
"Why is your answer so long? It can be short; that's the best way to answer the question. Short but meaningful."
I finished eating, and while putting the plate on the sink, I answered my mother first. "It depends on Mom. If the answer is long or short. Sometimes it's what a candidate wants to say or indicate based on the difficulty of the question. "
"Is that so?" But suddenly she looked at me with her forehead furrowed.
I wondered. "Why?"
"You got inside through the door, didn't you?"
"Yes. Where else can I enter the house if not at the door?" My answer was confused.
My mom folded her arm. "Really? But why, when I woke up this morning the living room doorknob not locked? "
I stopped putting the dishes in the sink, and I remembered that I hadn't locked it because I was so tired last night and just went straight to my room. I turned to my mother, who was now waiting for my explanation. I smiled. "I didn't notice last night if I locked the door because I was so tired."
Maria just scratched her head. "My gosh, Daniella! Remember don't do it again; just lock the door before we go to sleep. What if someone tries to enter our house? We're still the same woman."
I hugged her. "I'm sorry, Mom, I can't do it again what happened last night. I'm just tired because we just walked home."
My mother hugged me back. "But next time if I don't remember to lock the doors, you should also look to see if it's locked for the safety of the two of us. Did you understand Daniella? "
"Yes, Mom." She loosened her embrace.
"All right, I'm leaving. We have foods there if you're hungry, okay." My mom took her bag to the living room and left their house.
