Chapter 21: Practice

It's Saturday, and Bree is at Daniella's house. "That's wrong!" Bree's close to tears because of Daniella.
She approached and pushed my back slightly. "How can you win if you can't do the right posture to walk properly?"
"The heels of these stilettos are too high. Is this really what the pageant participants wear?" I asked, and I raised my foot and examined the stiletto that I'm wearing.
"What do you want they used flat shoes for a pageant? What does it look like? Like they just went for a walk in the mall or park."
I frowned. "Why does the candidate walk differently at pageants?"
Bree looked at me lazily. "Yes, it's different because they don't just do a simple ramp; they also have confidence, and by flexing their body shape and their faces, you can also see that they are candidates for the pageant."

"Really!?"
"Yes, so if I'm you, follow what I say."
I sat down in a nearby chair. "Sample the ramp first." I even smiled teasingly at Bree.
Bree just closed her eyes at my request. "Look at me and focus on what I'm going to do."
Bree walked a few steps away from Daniella's seat. She was ready to adjust her posture and pretend she was wearing a stiletto, and she walked with her hips swaying on both sides. She stopped near Daniella and posed a few times before turning around.
Daniella, on the other hand, just smiled at her friend's skill. "Wow, that's great! Why don't you replace me so that you are the one who competes in that pageant?" I suddenly suggested.
Bree's eyes widened at me. "What can't be? That's why I nominated you to compete because you have to prove something, remember!"
I looked at Bree in confusion. "Prove?"
Bree messed up her hair. "Oh my gosh, Daniella, I need to buy medicine for your brain!"

"What, do I have to prove that I'm really smart? I don't need to prove that anymore because I know I'm really smart." I was boasting.
Bree just gaped as she watched me. "Is it because of your nonsense that you can easily think of a word that isn't true?"
"Hey! I'm really smart, and I'm the only one who knows it, and I really don't want to tell anyone because they might be proud of me. " Then I rolled my eyes at Bree.
Bree just stood up and took the three books that were too thick and approached Daniella again.
"Stand there; your talking is too much. We won't end until you do nothing right."
I saw the thick book. "I thought you were going to teach me how to walk like a beauty queen. Why do you have a book in your hand? Why are you going to replace William as my tutor?"
Bree bit her lip because she might say bad words to Daniella. "Just one more, Daniella; you will see I'm pulling your hair until it's out of your scalp. Stand there; it's afternoon, and you have not done anything yet. "

I stood up, and she might be making good on her threat to pull my hair. "Stand up straight, just look straight, and don't move," Bree said, starting to put the book on my head.
"This is how we're going to use it for now. You'll walk straight and just look straight without dropping the book on your head. Dropping that back to start, we'll start again as long as the book is still falling from your head," Bree's serious voice said.
A few times, the book fell on my head, and she also tripped in the stiletto I was wearing at the height of the heels, so the result was a wound on my foot and a small bruise on my elbow and palm.
"Can I rest first? My foot hurts and my wounds too," I said and completely removed the stiletto I was wearing. I was biting my lip in extreme pain when I touched them.
"All right, but let's just treat your wound right away because that should be gone before the school pageant." Bree stood up and went inside their house because I had just sat down because of the pain in my foot.
In my mind, "I will be wearing a long gown; why do I have to wear these high heel sandals?" I threw it away at my side.

Bree's back with cotton and alcohol. She immediately sat down next to me and put alcohol on the cotton, but what I didn't expect was when Bree suddenly put so much alcohol on the cotton that she then put it in my wound. "Bree!" I shouted and couldn't believe it while looking at her.
She smiled at me. "I'm sorry, I thought you were already numb."
"Why do you think I'm numb? Of course, I'm hurt too."
"That's why you're still enduring William's behavior. I thought you were numb because of him."
I narrowed my eyes at her. "Why did William get into the conversation? I think I'll be blamed because he choked several times."
"Tsk, just advise Daniella, If you tolerate William's behavior, you should also tolerate the pain of your wound now because you need flawless skin when you ramp. All I know about your first ramp is that you wear a crop top and see your tummy with a short, like half-thigh long. "

My eyes widened because I didn't know that. "I know that only wearing a long gown is okay. Why didn't I know that there were other clothes to wear?"
"Because your brain is flying everywhere, Daniella, while our teacher tells you what to do at the pageant."
I looked at her badly. "It's your fault! Sometimes your hand suddenly rises, even if it's not necessary. "
Bree stared at me. "You're really beautiful; you just lack confidence. We all have that, and yes, we're different and cannot be the same because, if that were a chance, all people would have the same face, right. But I just don't know why other people are judgemental. They're not perfect either to give their opinion that I don't even need."
I tried to reach the cotton that Bree is holding, but every time I tried to take it, her hand moved away. "They believe that only beautiful people have a pointed nose and white skin. The true definition of beauty and handsomeness is that they need to be like that. "
I tried to take it again, but I couldn't really reach it. Bree angrily pressed the cotton ball with alcohol on my wound. "All people have a beauty that they can be proud of."
I couldn't stand the pain anymore, so I just pulled Bree's hair hard. "Ouch! Why?" she wondered.
"You're talking too much, so you didn't realize that you put too much alcohol in the cotton on my wound." I moved my foot away from Bree, and probably all the bacteria that could live in my wound from over-cleaning was gone.
Bree looked at the cotton she was holding and smiled guiltily at me. "Sorry! I just got carried away."
Bree took the things she used and stood up. "We will continue tomorrow. I'll sleep here, so I'll be here until tomorrow afternoon to teach you. You can now rest." She walked away, and I just sighed and looked at the emptiness.
