Chapter 12

A bad dream, a very bad dream. She could not forget what she had witnessed in her sleep. A ruthless murder that feels so real and worst of all, Nathan is the victim of it.

She leaned under a tree, looking at the calm surface of the lake. He purposely stayed away from everyone so they wouldn't notice his anxiety. But one thing he couldn't avoid, namely Keith's eyes that kept watching him.

As it was now, Leo was already standing three steps in front of him with his arms folded across his chest. He looked at Elen as if he knew what Sera was feeling and she had no intention of avoiding Keith's question anymore.

"Did you finally feel the curse?" Leo asked. He didn't want to mince words anymore because it seemed things were getting worse.

"Curse? I don't understand what you're saying!" He said weakly. Even though he tried to deny it, his pale face was enough to show what kind of trouble he was going through right now.

"Why not just tell the truth? You already know you're having a hard time, but you're still stubborn!" He said, annoyed. He couldn't understand why Sera was trying so hard to avoid the situation, when she knew that she couldn't handle her problems alone.

Elen started crying, she thought of giving up and telling Keith about what really happened to her and the horrors she had witnessed. Tears rolled down her cheeks, Elen sobbed. Tried to cover his face so Keith wouldn't see him cry.

Keith sighed, then walked over to Elen and wiped her tears. Keith smiled, he knew that he couldn't blame Elen for everything that had happened and to be honest, Elen was an ignorant victim.

"It's okay, just cry until your heart feels better!" Keith said as he gently stroked Elen's head.

Sera stopped crying, she initially didn't want to involve Keith, now started thinking of asking Keith for help as the only person who knew the bad situation she was in.

"Leo, what should I do? Nathan, I saw him being killed by some men on the boat. They killed him, what should I do? Tell me, Keith! What should I do?" Elen asked while sobbing. He felt a misery that made his body feel very weak.

Keith touched Sera's face with both hands and looked into her sad eyes. He no longer cares about the risks he will face if Elen finds out who he really is.

"Everything you see in your dreams is a trap. Charles has set you up, Elen! And after this, he will make you do whatever he wants. He won't let you go!"

"I don't understand, Keith! I don't understand at all. What does Charlie want from me?"

"I told you before right? If he was a vampire who has lived for 80 years. Tell you what, tonight I will take you to a place where you can ask everything you want to know!"

"Are you serious?"

"Yeah! I can't buy him any more time because it seems he already knows that I've come back to finish him off!"

Leo walked while still holding Sera's hand. They walked through the forest after parking the car at the entrance of the forest. Elen was scared, she didn't know where Keith would take her. It was just that right now the only one he could trust was Keith.

"Where are we actually going?" asked Ellen. He felt a little doubtful looking at the dark conditions of the forest, where the only source of light came from the flashlights in their hands.

"I'll tell you when we get there!"

"But, when do we arrive? We've walked almost two kilometers and this forest is truly terrifying!"

"Shhh...! We've arrived!"

"What?"

"That's the place!" Keith said while pointing to a house located in the middle of the forest.

Elen was shocked, she didn't know why there could be a house in a place like this. The house surrounded by tall trees looks very simple from the outside. Keith walked ahead of him, through the tall bushes. Elen followed him without asking further.

When they arrived at the front door of the house, someone suddenly opened the door as if they knew someone was coming to visit. A black-haired beauty smiled when she saw Keith. The two of them seemed to be talking through their eyes, then the woman turned her gaze to Elen.

"Claude in?" Keith asked without greeting or small talk.

"Yes, everyone is waiting for you inside!" The woman said.

"Elen, she's Sofia, my friend! She lives in this house!" Keith said. Elen smiled awkwardly, while Sofia walked over to her holding out her hand for a handshake.

"Hi Elen, I'm Sofia! Keith's friend. Yes, you could say close friends. Isn't that Keith?" Sofia smiled seductively, she tried to seduce Keith.

I'm Elen, Keith's cousin! Ellen said nervously. He looked at Keith hoping that Keith would explain something to him.

"I know, Keith tells a lot about you! But I didn't expect you to be so much prettier than I thought. Wow, Keith. I really feel jealous!"

"No time to think about that, Sofia! Elen, come on in! I want you to meet Claude!"

"Claude? Who is he?"

"You'll find out later!"

Leo and Sera enter the house which turns out to be very different from what it looks from the outside. From the outside this house is very simple and quiet as if no one lives in this house. But inside, this house looks very spacious and majestic, where dozens of men and women gather in a room while enjoying expensive wine.

Sera really didn't know that many people chose the forest as a place to gather and party. All eyes were on them, Elen felt even more nervous because they all had very sharp eyes.
