Chapter 6
Sobs colored Uncle Carl's funeral, seeing her uncle's wife and children cry like that made the guilt in Sera's heart grow even bigger. Even though she wasn't the cause of her family and her uncle's death, being the only survivor so far made her feel uncomfortable.
Sera knew that people were starting to talk about the disappearance of hundreds of cruise ship passengers who were in lifeboats on the night of the incident. At that time, she should have also been in one of the lifeboats with other passengers. But she chose to return to the ship looking for Nathan's whereabouts.
"Oh my God, it's been two weeks since that tragic incident, where have the other passengers gone?"
"I heard they disappeared mysteriously in the middle of the sea. Did their lifeboat sink in a storm?"
"I really can't imagine it. I heard the only survivor was Captain Carl's niece!"
"Is that true?"
"Yes, some fishermen saw a small lifeboat approaching the dock and there was a young woman in the boat who was unconscious."
"Oh my God, I can't imagine what she went through to get to the pier!"
Sera froze in front of three women who were also present at her uncle's funeral. She already knew that people would speculate and speculate about what really happened. She thought that she should be happy to have survived the tragedy. But somehow her heart refused to rejoice over the suffering of the families of the victims who were lost or died in the tragedy.
Ten steps ahead, she saw Leo wearing a black shirt staring at her. Elen was stunned, she didn't know how long Leo had been standing there. However, seeing Leo's face made her recall the pain in her shoulder.
"Ugh..." Sera grimaced. The pain was getting worse and worse even though she had tried to treat and close the bite mark. But it made her feel even more pain.
She didn't know how long she could endure this pain. But if she told her parents about this it would only make them worry more about her.
"No, I have to endure it! I can't tell mom and dad either. I can't tell them!" She thought. Her body was shaking, the pain made her unconsciously touch Nathan's bite mark.
She turned to Leo who was looking at her with a cold gaze. Now she was really afraid of Leo. She didn't know, what Leo really wanted to talk about. Her hunch was so bad, she was afraid she wasn't ready to find out.
"Are you okay?" Uncle Mark asked who was standing right beside her. Uncle Mark realized something was wrong with her condition. Sera's face was very pale and cold sweat ran down her forehead.
"I-I'm fine, Uncle! I'm just weak from not having breakfast!"
"Oh my God! Alright, let's go find a place to eat!"
"N-no, I-"
"How about I just take you to a nearby restaurant?" Leo asked who for some time had been standing near Sera and Uncle Mark.
"Yeah, alright Leo! Please take Sera to a cafe or restaurant. She didn't have time for breakfast this morning!" Uncle Mark said. Sera and Leo looked at each other. Of course it wasn't because of Sera's wish, she just felt uncomfortable seeing the way Leo was looking at her.
"Alright, come on Sera! I know where a good place is!" Leo smiled coldly. His eyes fell on Sera's hand which continued to touch the bite mark on her shoulder.
Sera lowered her head, her heart racing. This morning on the phone Leo said she had fallen for the wrong person. She wanted to know, what she had done wrong?

Leo took a sip of the black coffee in the cup, his eyes still on Sera who was sitting across from him, waiting for him to speak. Sera did not budge, she was still waiting patiently even though she was enduring the intense pain.
"You don't want to order food?" Leo asked. He spoke casually and it made Sera feel like she was being toyed with.
"No! I was waiting for you to speak! Can you tell me now, what do you know about Nathan?"
"I wanted to tell you, but seeing your condition like this. I'm not sure you're ready to accept information from me!"
"Do you really look like a dying person in your eyes right now? Tell me, Leo! Don't play anymore!" Sera was very annoyed that Leo kept trying to buy time. She felt that Leo was up to something and this was part of his stupid game.
"Hahaha...you really haven't changed, have you, Sera? Still as impatient as before!"
"That's none of your business! If you really don't know anything about Nathan, don't pretend like you know something about him!"
"I didn't say I didn't know did I?" Leo smiled sinisterly. He seemed quite happy to see Sera's confused face.
"If you do know something, please tell me! Tell me everything you know!"
"Okay, I'll tell you something! Of course I won't tell you everything because I'm sure you won't be able to accept it!"
"Nathan, is he human? Tell me, is he a human or a monster?"
"You think someone who has bitten your breast and eat your heart can still be called a human?" Leo asked. Sera lowered her head, holding her hands from shaking.
This was the part she was most worried about, the truth about Nathan's figure that kept her wondering. Ever since Uncle Carl had said that Nathan never existed, it had made her start to suspect something about Nathan. However, because his existence felt so real, it made her put her bad thoughts aside.
"I don't know, Leo! I really don't know!"
"Everyone has secrets, Sera! And sometimes those secrets get really dark at the cost of something. Nathan, he's not human. It's obvious that he's not a being from this world." Leo said. Sera gasped, her heart beating really fast. She had already guessed that Nathan wasn't human. But there was something in her that refused to believe it.
"W-what? You're kidding, right?"
"There's no point in joking at times like this. I'm sure you've noticed it too. It's just that you're trying to deny it! Sera, your lover is a bloodthirsty monster that has killed hundreds of thousands of lives over thousands of years. He's a monster! "
Sera froze, she felt a big hammer hit right above her head. It made all her faith crumble. Her eyes were wide, red with tears ready to spill.
"No, that imposible! Nathan-"
"Come on Sera, wake up! How long are you going to deny it? He died decades ago and sold his soul to the devil, so he could be resurrected as an immortal being and I'm here to finish him off!"
"What do you mean? You want to kill him?"
"I already told you that I can't tell you everything right now. The matter we're dealing with is too complicated to explain. Your current state isn't good enough to digest everything I'm saying anyways!"
"Then, please tell me, what is the relationship between you and Nathan? How did you know him?"
"How is it? I've known him 80 times in my life. Actually, we haven't seen each other for a long time, I'm sure by now he's already starting to know where I am!"
"What do you mean by 80 times your life? I don't understand!"
"Reincarnation. Sera, would you believe me if I said that I've reincarnated 80 times?"
"N-no! How could I possibly believe that?"
"Yeah, I thought you'd say that! Well, when you're feeling better, I'll show you something!"
"What's that?"
"My biggest secret!"
