Chapter 22

Sera sighed, she knew that there was something else Nathan hadn't had time to say and it made her wonder, how long were they going to do that?

She got up from her bed, showered and got dressed. He wanted to ask Keith something without telling Keith about his meeting with Nathan in the dream.

She passed by Leo's room and realized that the door to the room was half open. He saw Leo busy stuffing his clothes in his backpack. She stepped into Leo's room and stood in the doorway with a questioning look.

"You want to go?" She asked. He walked over to Keith who looked up at him with a smile.

"Yes, as you can see!"

"Go where?"

"Camping up the mountains, miss! Do you want to join?"

"No thanks! I don't like climbing mountains, it's too tiring! But aren't you going with your pack before the full moon? So why are you going camping now?"

"Camping is just an excuse I made up! Of course I went with them! I was just in camouflage!"

"You reptile!"

"Hahaha...why? Seems like you're happy that I'm gone? I know, you're happy that you can have fun with her when I'm not around, right?"

"Do you think I can have fun under these circumstances?"

"Yes, of course you can! As long as you're with your beloved Charlie, that's enough, right?"

"Who knows!"

"You saw him again?"

"N-no!"

"Is that true?"

"Did you see I went out last night?"

"Yes, could you meet him in another way?"

"What do you mean?"

"Through dreams for example!" Despite trying to guess, Keith looked as if he already knew Charlie had met him in a dream.

Elen panicked, she was afraid that Keith would find out what she and Charlie were talking about! He had promised Charlie to keep it a secret from anyone. But if Keith found out in the end, it wasn't his fault.

Keith looked at him with his wolf eyes that were sharp and scary, it made Elen unable to meet his gaze. He didn't know what kind of lie he would have to tell Keith if Keith kept pushing him.

Keith walked to the bedroom door and locked it. Then he came back to Elen and pushed Elen's body onto the bed by holding and gripping her hands.

Elen was shocked, she didn't know what Keith would do to her. But when she looked into Keith's eyes, she could see the love in his eyes.

"W-what are you doing? Let me go!"

"I'll let you go as long as you promise not to see him when I'm not here!"

"What do you mean?"

"Promise me, Elen!" Keith asked. Elen was silent, she knew that she couldn't promise Keith because she already promised Charlie.

"Keith, I-"

"What did he tell you?'

"N-nothing! He didn't say anything! He just said he missed me!" The answer is nervous. Elen took pains to lie and wished Keith would stop pressuring her.

Elen was looking for a way to divert the conversation, at this rate she could falter and tell Keith everything. She didn't want to destroy Charlie's trust in her. He didn't want to disappoint Charlie.

"How long will you be gone?"

"I can't be sure, obviously during the full moon I can't be here?"

"Why not? What would happen if you stayed here?"

"We werewolves, every full moon we have to gather to perform rituals. Stay away from humans and should not be scattered. Because during the full moon, we have a very strong desire to eat human hearts. Predatory instincts will dominate our minds, therefore it would be very dangerous if we killed a human and ate his heart!"

"Oh, my God!"

"That's why we had to hide somewhere so far away that we couldn't smell humans anymore."

"What if your whereabouts are discovered by the humans?"

"What is clear is that we will definitely be hunted down and killed!"

"Has that happened before?"

"Yes, 200 years ago the werewolves were brutally slaughtered because they were considered as monsters unfit to live and since then the pack leaders decided to perform a ritual before the full moon to avoid any bad problems that would happen."

"Is that so? But how do you hide this from uncle and aunt?"

"Yes, because I am a good boy no one will suspect me! But now it is you who have to be careful!"

"Why me?"

"Because now you're a half vampire, Elen! That means you need someone's blood to keep you sane! So be careful of him. Try not to believe everything he tells you? You already know how cruel he is, don't you? no mercy to anyone, even the woman he loved so much he had the heart to kill. That's why I beg you, don't believe him!"

"How can I not believe him? I can't!" Elen looked into Keith's still unmoving eyes from above her body.

Keith brought his face closer to Elen's and kissed her lips. Elen was surprised that Keith suddenly kissed her like this. But when he struggled to get Keith to stop and let him go, he couldn't even make Keith move at all. Keith was very strong and he had never felt such a great power like this.

"Uhm...K-Keith-" He mumbled with difficulty. Keith opened his eyes and broke the kiss.

Elen saw Elen looked confused and panicked. He felt guilty for not being able to contain his feelings for Elen, it made him hate himself.

"I-I'm sorry!"

"Why did you do that? Why did you kiss me?"

"It's okay! Just a urge I can't control!"

"You idiot! What if Sofia sees her? She'll definitely get mad and kill you!"
