Chapter 60-
Irvin:
Oriel is mine and she’s not. I know she loves me and it’s what I’ve always wanted, for her to see me not as her adopted brother and friend but as her mate, as her partner. I just am having a hard time sharing that love and time. I saw this played out growing up and I know it can work when people set aside their own selfish desires, but it is harder in practice than theory. Darius and Rowen have grown on me and watching them with her is both sexy and infuriating. If the only way I can have her is to share, then I will just have to work on controlling my possessiveness. I can’t wait to see my family, but I am also a little nervous as to what our dads will think. I know mom will be supportive and my dads have worked out how to share our mom but that doesn’t mean that they will be happy to know Oriel is choosing more than one mate. What will our pack think? It’s just something we will have to deal with as it comes I guess, because even if the world hates me, I won’t give up Oriel. I have only ever wanted her, and I will do anything to keep her.
Oriel:
We have been aboard the ship for two days, tomorrow we will dock and make for the village hosting this year’s harvest festival it’s being held by a pack my parents have close ties with, so they have been there a few days already. I am so excited to see everyone and to finally have Rowen by my side this year. I have always had Darius and Irvin with me but now I feel complete being with all my men. The snide looks or comments will never bother me again, how can they when I feel so cherished by who matters most. It also feels good knowing my family will get to know Rowen better and hopefully feel more comfortable with him as my mate. He is still not a favorite of my parents, especially my dad James. I’m just hoping he can win them over enough for them to agree with my request.
Ember:
When I see my children riding into camp, I can’t help but run to them. Seeing Oriel and Irvin once a year has been heartbreaking, I miss having them laughing and playing in my house. It makes this small time we have together so special, my mates try to act tough, but I see the giddy look on their face as their kids ride in. Oriel is the same as ever she leads the charge on her lovely white mare with a big smile on her face, Irvin ever her protector rides at her side his eyes always following her. She is surrounded this year not only with the addition of Darius who I have come to enjoy but also with her mate, the vampire king Rowen. Something about her has changed, not only in her appearance but also how she holds herself. She has always been confident and strong but there is a peace about her and a radiance of someone in love. This is interesting because there are three men who are looking at her as though she were the sun. I just hope no one’s heart gets broken, especially not my little girls. “My precious girl! I have missed you so much!” My chest swells with love and contentment when Oriel clings onto me and rubs her face in my neck, something she has done since she was a baby. I kiss her head and open my arms to bring Irvin into our embrace. “My eldest son has grown so handsome.” I kiss them both then I hear my mates booming voice join us. “Careful of your mothers delicate condition pups.” Oriel puts her hands on my barely swollen belly. “Congratulation’s mom!” “I think if anyone deserves congratulating it’s me, I put in all the hard work. Isn’t that right phoenix.” Lucas joins our family hug and kisses his little princess on the cheek. “Don’t go taking all the credit little brother, I remember putting quite a bit of work in as well. Don’t let his head get too big queenie.” James kisses me over Oriel’s head and slaps his brother on the back, sometimes it feels like I have five kids with another on the way. “Okay boys let’s not traumatize our children with details of conception.” “I’m not as naive as you think mom.” James growls and Oriel laughs her head off. I’ve missed these fun, relaxed interactions. Lately with Apollo it’s been a challenge. He turned fifteen a few months ago and his ego has exploded. He has been so obsessed over becoming the next pack alpha that he has lost his way. He has been caught bedding unmated women in the pack and after we told him that it will only cause him problems later down the road, he has become sneaky and withdrawn. I am happy though that he seems so excited to see his brother and sister again. He has always been a serious child a little quiet and observant but very stubborn and courageous. I have feared having his older siblings gone has only exasperated that, I want him to enjoy being young and not so wrapped up in the future. The fact that Irvin has made it clear he has no plans to leave Oriels side and has given his rightful alpha spot to Apollo means he has a whole life full of responsibility. There is only so much time to be carefree and young and I don’t want him to spend it whoring around and trying to grow up too fast. Hopefully this time with Irvin and Oriel will bring him back down to earth.
“Mom, dad, daddy you remember Darius and Rowen.” “Yes of course. We are happy to see you all and work together again. We just got caught up in seeing the kids…well not kids anymore.” “We are happy to see you and it is lovely to see how close and loving your family is. I hope one day that Oriel and I will be blessed with children to dote on as well. It has been a long time, it’s nice to see you again Alpha James and Beta Lucas, hello Apollo.” Lucas shakes Rowen’s hand and then Darius’s outstretched one. I scowl at James when he stands with his arms crossed over his chest staring down Rowen. To his credit he doesn’t back down and only leaves his hand out for James. After an encouraging pinch in the butt James grabs Rowen hand. “It’s nice to see you after all these years vampire king.” I am not surprised when Oriel steps up to her dad and scolds him in front of our small group. “Daddy you can call him Rowen and please treat my mate with kindness. We have traveled to spend time with you and to finish putting together the treaty Rowen has been working so hard on to unite our people. If you no longer want peace, I suppose we will just leave.” I am about to step in, they have been staring each other down for the longest agonizing minute. Oriel’s hand holding Rowen’s her allegiance clearly drawn when James bursts out laughing and hugs his daughter to his chest. “Okay princess you win. Damn Rowen I hope you like losing arguments.” We all laugh and bring everyone into our large domed tent. I can’t help but notice when Oriel and her little gang of men stand outside for a few minutes, it’s weird to feel a bit like an outsider. They clearly are discussing something private, and it makes it clear when they all circle around Oriel that she is the leader of their little group, not the vampire king…interesting.
Irvin:
Oriel has decided that we should be open with our family about the nature of our relationship. I don’t like secrets, so this is a relief to me but it also stirs up the fear of their disapproval in me. Our dads had to share our mom because she was both their true mate but with Oriel the only one bound is Rowen. Darius and I are choosing her, and she is choosing us of our own free will. It has nothing to do with fate and I hope they will understand our choice. There is something other than telling our parents the nature of our relationship that as me feeling on edge. I don’t know why but I feel worked up, my senses are on overdrive, and I have this feeling like there is something big about to happen. There is also this sweet smell stuck in my nose that is making my cock embarrassingly hard and my heart beat erratically.
Ember:
After dinner and endless discussion about the treaty and catching up about how things have been both for the pack and with Rowen’s coven, I am finally able to sneak away with Oriel. My mom senses are tingling, and I feel like there is something she needs to talk to me about. Apollo vanished after hearing details about the treaty, I desperately hope he is with Owen and not getting himself into trouble. Oriel and I walked to the stables a place she always loved growing up. She loved riding and caring for horses all growing up so it’s no surprise she walked us here. “Mom I think I have come to love Rowen. He is no longer a duty to me or a means to end to bring peace and be queen. I really do love him as a man.” “I know things were hard for you two at first so that’s good news my love.” “Yes, but that’s not all mom. I love Irvin too, I always have. I don’t see him as my brother, and I hope you’re not mad, but I want him with me always not as an advisor but as a mate.” “That does complicate things. How has Rowen delt with that? How does Irvin feel? He has never been one to share with anyone other than you.” “I don’t think it was Rowen or Irvin’s first choice to share but they both love me and are willing to live together with me. It is a bit more complicated than just that though…” “Okay…that seems like a lot already.” “Yes, well it’s not just Rowen and Irvin who have agreed to share me as their mate but also Darius. He has come to mean so much to me and he and Rowen have a strong history together. I know it sounds crazy and complicated, but I love them all, I want them all beside me, I need each of them and for some amazing reason they have pushed aside all the potential heartache to love me back and make this work for us.” I hug my girl tight and kiss her head. “It is because of who you are that made all of these men fall before you. I can’t say there won’t be hardship ahead, but I trust you to knows what’s right for you. My beautiful little girl has turned into a queen who makes great men fall to their knees. Now the hard part will be getting your dads on board. They had a hard enough time knowing you are mated to one man.” “That’s not the only thing. I want to annul the blood oath you guys made Rowen sign. I am no longer a child; I am ready to be queen and live the life I want. If Rowen and I are mated, then we can move forward and sign the treaty into law. The unity between our races will be solidified.” “Oh, sweet girl I am glad the goddess gave you a spine of steel because it will take a miracle to get your fathers to give you up a minute earlier than agreed upon. I am convinced that if we hadn’t been backed into a corner that day that your fathers would have never given you to Rowen.” “That’s probably true but I am willing to fight for him and for us.” “Alright little warrior lets go do battle.”
