Chapter 15

I ended up falling asleep in Celeste’s room during our long intense conversation. I get up and realize we are 5 minutes late for training. We get up and run to make it to the training session that Aiden and I will be leading since Beta James is gone. I rush into my room, throw on my training gear which was a sports bra and spandex. I also throw my hair into a high ponytail and rush downstairs with Celeste right behind me. However, as we are running downstairs one of the pack warriors that are guarding Silas and Alaric’s room stop us.
“Miss Goldstein, the Lunar wolves are wondering if they can witness the training session.” They want to watch. Why not?
“Thank you, warrior. I will mind-link my mother.” I say and proceed to concentrate on communicating with Mom.
“Hey mom, a pack warrior guarding the Lunar Alpha and Beta said they are requesting to watch our training session. Will that be alright If they are escorted?” I say and wait for a response.
“Yes dear, as long as they are kept an eye on that will be fine.” She says and I turn my attention back to the warrior.
“The Luna has given an ok to their request. Please escort them to the training grounds and keep an eye on them.” I say and the warrior nods in confirmation. Then Celeste and I continue to rush out of the pack house. Silas watching me train. Should be interesting. Let’s see if he can contain himself. I smirk to myself, and I can see a smirk on Celeste’s face.
“I have a feeling your thinking what I’m thinking.” I laugh and she smirks slyly.
“Maybe they can join us in training. I want to see his sexy body.” We both laugh like hyenas and finally make it to the training grounds. We find everyone is already warming up. Celeste and I throw our stuff down and begin our stretching. After some stretches and warming up, we get into sparring pairs to begin training. As usual Celeste is my partner and Aiden is paired with Atlas.
In the corner of my eye, I see Silas and Alaric approaching the training field with warriors on both sides of them.
Silas finds my eyes and he smirks. He wants to see a show. Can’t let him down now, can I?
Celeste and I take our fighting stances. I give Celeste the motion to come at me and she doesn’t hesitate. She bursts with speed and closes the distance between us. She appears to be aiming high, so I decide to go low. She sends a few punches toward my neck and face and before they can make contact, I block each of them with my hands. My reflexes and speed are quite extraordinary. After she sends the last blow, I go low and land a few punches to her stomach. She quickly puts distance between us and decides her next move. Instead of waiting I go in for the attack. It’s time to show my mate what I’ve got.
I burst with amazing speed and confront her. I go for her stomach, but she manages to block some of my punches, but not all. I send a faint to her face and before she knew It, I kicked out her feet and her back hit the ground causing to knock the wind out of her. She takes deep breathes and she regains her composure. I offer my hand to her, and she reluctantly takes it.
“Goddess, I hate you, this was my chance to show off.” She mind-links me with a pouty tone. I giggle and shake my head at her. So, did I.
When everyone Is done sparring, I take my place next to Aiden in the center of the group and we announced what we will do.
“Today we will be focusing on defensive techniques. Some of us can create shields with our powers. We will be focusing on that, but we will be also work on defense without them. Athena and I will show you how it’s done.” Aiden announces and we take our corners of the imaginary arena. I don’t like the vibe he is giving off. He seems even more detached and dangerous than usual. There is a fury in his eyes that I cannot explain. Maybe sparring with him isn’t a good idea.
I take my stance and he comes at me. With exploding strength, he sends punches to my stomach and face. I block off some of his punches and I try to create some distance, but he won’t let me. He continues to send punches with nothing holding back. I know if one of his punches connect it will be brutal, but what am I supposed to do? I don’t want to hurt him. Around me I can see everyone looking at us funny. They can tell he is going way overboard. Eventually one of his blows follow through and he hits me square in the gut. This knocks the wind out of me, and he sends me backwards. I land on my back and try to regain air in my lungs. This is where your opponent is supposed to back down and let you regain your composure, but Aiden didn’t. Instead, he started to kick and throw me around. Brutally I might add.
“Come on Athena. Aren’t you supposed to be the White Wolf? Where is all that fire and strength your supposed to have huh?” He continues to land kicks into my stomach. My body is failing me. I barely manage to let out yelps with every kick he sends. I start to cough up some blood and my vision starts to blur. He lifts my head by the hair to forcibly look at him. “Your no Alpha.” He smirks cruelly and I can see Celeste trying to get through the crowd with Atlas to stop him. Aiden lands a swift punch to my cheek and lets go of my hair which causes me to hit the ground painfully. I hold my stinging cheek and a few tears leave my eyes. Then as if that wasn’t enough, he stomps on my free hand. I hear it crunch under his foot and i manage to let out a pained filled scream. Before Atlas and Celeste can get to us, Aiden is thrown back. He goes flying and with amazing force he hits a tree and lets out a grunt. He collapses on the ground and looks up to see who sent him back. Above me I see my mate with righteous fury in his eyes. Almost like a knight in shining armor.
“What do you think you’re doing? There is no need to be so violent in training. You don’t attack a wolf while they are down! Where’s your sense of honor boy?” Silas snarls at my brother. This causes Aiden to tremble with anger. He regains his composure and takes threatening steps towards us. With each step his anger intensifies.
“You better watch what you say to me. Or I’ll kill you. Your kind are not welcome here.” He growls which causes the forest to shake. However, Silas doesn’t back down. He takes a protective stance over me and doesn’t look away from his opponent.
“Stand down boy. Your no match for me.” He growls back but with more power. The earth itself shakes and every wolf around except for Aiden bow their heads in submission. Aiden is about to lunge at my mate, but Atlas and Commander Jay grab him before he attacks.
“Let go of me! He must pay for what his kind did!” He yells.
“Aiden you need to calm the hell down! What the hell has gotten into you man?” Atlas holds on with all his strength. Celeste comes into view and looks him in the eye before punching him in the face knocking him out cold. I’ve been fighting to stay awake, but my vision is becoming darker and darker. The injuries Aiden inflicted are throbbing and i want to pass out so i don’t feel any more of pain. I don’t know which is worse the physical pain or the emotional pain. Before I pass out, I feel myself being lifted into strong arms and orders are barked around me.
"Where is the pack hospital?" Silas asks urgently.
"Take Aiden back to the pack house and inform the Luna what happened. I’ll take you Alpha. Let’s go." Celeste’s says with authority. They break into a run and rush me to the pack hospital.
"Stay awake Angel. Keep your eyes on me alright." My mate tells me desperately, but my eyes are drooping, and my body is threatening to go limp. "Athena, Athena! Come on Angel, you need to stay awake." I want to stay awake, but my body says otherwise. Before I know it and without my permission, I’m unconscious.
