Pack Link, Duh!
Jack:
As always, Damian had to be the pompous ass he is, but what drew my curiosity was the fact he offered an exceptionally large amount of money to buy Mei.
I was speechless seeing her wolf, silver silky fur that shimmered under the light and her piercing silver eyes.
Absolutely breathtaking! The fact Kyou is as large as Goki, just confirmed my thoughts about her strength. It took everything I had to hold Goki back from trying to mate and mark her.
Her scent increased during our trip to the south border, Eli and Seth kept making snarky remarks the whole time. Speaking of which, I need to have Mei take her clan oath, so she can link with the others.
“Yeah, you should have thought about that earlier.” Goki rolled his eyes.
“Listen, it slipped my mind with all the unanswered questions, and trying to figure out what is going with these rogue attacks.” I huffed in annoyance.
“Yeah well, I am not getting any younger, and I want my mate NOW!” Goki growled.
I was sitting in my office, rubbing my temples trying to subdue the headache that was setting in, when her scent caught my attention, followed by a knock. I ran my hand through my hair to give it a quick fix, before telling her to enter.
“Come in.” I yelled not the way I wanted it to come out.
I watched as the door opened, she walked in closing it behind her. I motioned for her to take the seat across from my desk giving the office a quick look before sitting down crossing her left foot under her right. Of course, she was barefooted, wearing a pair of gray sweatpants and a simple black t-shirt.
“I see Riley did some shopping for you.” I stated looking at her looking comfortable.
“Yeah, you did not have to do that, but yet again, I cannot walk around her naked all the time. I prefer minimal clothing; it feels to constricting.” She laughed tugging slightly at the material of her sweats.
“Shit! let her walk around naked.” Goki howled laughed.
“Shut the fuck up!” I huffed.
“So, what brings you here?” I asked pulling out the bottle of whiskey and two glasses from the bottom drawer of my desk. She perked an eyebrow, smiling. I saw a small flicker in her eyes.
“Actually, Kyou brought up about being linked to the clan. Something about it showing I belong and can communicate with the other members with my mind.” She stated reaching forward grabbing her glass of whiskey. There is that flicker again.
“I was just thinking about that before you arrived. It is simple, you take the oath of the clan, and we seal it with a blood shake.” I stated leaning back sipping my whiskey, watching as she had a silent discussion. Her eyes returned to the grey blue with green flecks, smiling.
“Okay! Do we need to wait until tomorrow? I know it is late, I really could not rest with my mind going crazy with questions, and information.” She laughed downing her whiskey looking for a relief. I was feeling the same way.
“We can do it right now. Eli and Seth already approve of you, and it is just a simple oath and blood shake.” I said pulling out the Demon Wolf Clan encrusted knife, standing up, walking around the desk to her standing up from the chair.
“Take a knee and repeat after me.” I watched as she kneeled to one knee never breaking eye contact.
Oh, I could get use to this position. Images started flashing through my head of that dream. Shit now is not the time.
“Hah. Perfect time for them.” Goki laughed.
“Do you, Mei, swear to be loyal, upholding the sacred bond of protecting, defending, honoring and sacrificing, in the name of the Demon Wolf Clan, until death holds true.” I stated and watched as she recited the Oath with glimmer of hope in her eyes.
The first time seeing some form of emotion, my breath caught in my throat.
I held my hand out for her to stand, motioning to her left hand. She held her hand out, when my hand made contact to hold hers, electric shocks rushed through my body. Her hand flexed at the feeling, knowing she felt the same sensation. Her eyes were fixed on me, watching every move I made giving her a reassuring smile slicing the blade across her palm, then the same to mine.
Joining our hands in a shake, but this was different from other oaths. The powerful energy that surged through my body, almost dropped me to my knees not being prepared for it.
I watched as her eyes bounced side-to-side, indicating she could hear the pack members welcoming her. Her lips twitched, watching as her eyes came back to life and a large smile formed on her face.
I was floored at how gorgeous she looked in this moment. My heartbeat skipped a few beats before stabilizing.
“I did not realize how good this would feel. There are so many voices at this time of night.” She laughed looking at our hands still joined. I held onto her hand, wanting her to feel the connection between us.
“It is nice to have a place to call home, the night patrols are awake currently, and a few others.” I said slowly releasing her hand, leaning against the desk.
She stood there closing her eyes, her facial expression softening. She looked calm, not on guard or fighting mode, just calm.
“Mate.” She whispered barely audible, but I heard her, and I froze, eyes wide.
“Yes, she said Mate. Take her now.” Goki jumped
“No, she needs time to understand.” I replied. I watched as she snapped her eyes open, realizing what she said, her eyes darted to the floor. Then she was turning on her heel running past Eli as he was entering the office. He looked confused, then snapped his eyes to me raising an eyebrow.
