Desmond and Dominic will be here later today to have their Family Reunion. Watching Mei and Riley have their “girl time” had Eli and myself fighting not to take them right then and there. Watching as the guys sauntered their way in taking seats. Max set-up his laptop on the sofa table, spreading files and paperwork out across the sofa cushions, while Eli and Seth arranged their laptops. Eli giving me a once over, before clearing his throat trying to mask a laugh. Seth and Max shook their heads, releasing low chuckles.
“Alright, enough of the looks and faces. What do we know so far on Victor?” I asked looking at my laptop that Max remotely connected to display what he was currently looking at on his laptop. Multiple pictures of ice-covered mountains appeared, along with a detailed list of known locations Victor has been seen.
“Very impressive Max. I am definitely glad you are part of this Family now.” I said looking at Max smile brightly, giving a slight nod as a Thank you.
“Well, Mei is the one to Thank for that. If it were not for her being here, and meeting at the summit, I would still be working for that piece of shit Raven.” Max said looking at Eli and Seth’s shit eating grins.
“Okay as of now, breaking down the data of locations of sightings, cross mapping them with known ice-covered mountains, narrows down the possible location to Antarctica.” Max said pointing at us to look at the highlighted map, dotted with red pinpoints.
“Fuck! I can feel my balls freezing off as we speak.” Eli laughed shifting in his seat.
“He chooses a place hard to access, and very remote. Smart man.” Seth said looking over at Max. Then a photo of Lindsey, and Two other men appeared on my laptop.
“Thanks to Desmond, he provided a decent photo of his uncle Victor and who he thinks is the second male voice Mei heard. She said he called Victor “liege” and Desmond said the only person he could think of that called Victor that, is this lucky man. Aeros “the Black Knight” Goldwater.” Max laughed shaking his head. Pointing a look at him he nodded in understanding.
“Are good friend here, is also non-other than Raven’s underground connection to his buyers and sellers.” Max said sitting back crossing his leg, folding his arms behind his head, humming.
“Is he seriously humming?” Goki laughed.
“He knows something.” I laughed.
“You got to be kidding?” Eli laughed leaning back, side looking at Max. Seth chuckled clearing his throat.
“Oh, I am profoundly serious. I know this guy very well, so we are going to have to be careful. Raven probably has a marker on me by now, after his little phone call a week ago. So, most of my connections are dark, except for one.” Max said pulling out a file and handing it over to me. Lexi? He looks to be about Mei’s age, well built, grey-blue eyes like Mei. I shot a look at Max.
“Meet “Lexi”, that is all I know about the kid, but he is a sharp little bastard, quick with results. I understand that he is an underground hacker, so to speak. He never has failed me once with finding information.” Max said flashing a sly smile.
“Can we trust him?” I asked studying his photo more.
“Money talks to this kid, but he prefers his electronics over anything. The kid has the, if not the best, state of the art surveillance system. He will be dropping by later tonight with some files I requested. The guards already have his photo, and strict orders to bring him straight to the “Barn”.” Max said walking over towards the desk, while I pulled out four glasses and the whiskey. We all need a damn drink after all this shit.
“Why the “Barn”?” Eli asked swirling his whiskey around before taking a hard sip. Flexing his lip over his teeth. Hissing.
“So, he understands that if he crosses us, what will happen, because we will be celebrating a family reunion about that time.” Max said clinking glasses with us.
“Alright sounds like we have a decent chunk to go on. Seeing how Raven is connected makes it even more fun.” I said sitting back against the brown leather chair.
