I was feeling spunky after our crazy lustful love making. Max of all people showed up to help me again and found his mate, Seth.
Seth! Holy Fucking Hell! I knew he was different, but Damn.
Max changed a lot since I last saw him, but his eyes are his dead giveaway.
Fucking awesome! He is now a proud member of Demon Wolf. Jack appointed him the position of Technological Specialist. Jack was taken back when he was on the receiving end of my spunky mood. It was quite comical watching him trying to keep a straight face, during his phone conference with Alpha Derek.
Then of all the people to walk in, Eli. I faced palmed myself mentally when I heard him, but I was finishing what I started. Eli’s face was PRICELESS when I slid out from under the desk.
“Mei” Riley shouted, waving her hands in front of my face, bringing me back to earth.
“Yeah, I got lost in my thoughts.” I said laughing at my absent minded.
“Girl you gave me a scare.” She said staring at my eyes letting a light laugh out.
“Riley, I want to ask you something?” I asked taking a sip of my Sweet Tea. She nodded to me to ask.
“What do you know about the “spirit wolf”?” I asked watching her face as she sorted through her memories.
“Well, my grandmother once mentioned, that the “spirit wolf” was like a Dream traveler, that possessed powers to see, hear, change, and control people’s memories, thoughts, and dreams.
Also, that it could also materialize in one’s dream, experiencing everything within that dream, like you were awake. So, if they got injured, then their physical body would be injured, death meant death. All that kind of stuff.
She said the last spirit wolf was used during a major war to attack the Vampire King in his vision, he had the power to see and manipulate time. A secret faction used the spirit wolf to start the war between Vampires and Werewolves, because they saw them as a threat to their so called “Power”.
By time the truth was discovered, the damage had been done, many lives were lost. The sad part about it, the spirit wolf was forced to do what the faction wanted in return for the safety of their mate and unborn child. They are not sure whether the spirit wolf was male or female, just the circumstances surrounding the attacks. The faction betrayed the spirit wolf, killing the mate.” Riley explained tears silently falling down her cheeks.
“That is so heartless, how could they do that, killing their mate. I could not bear losing Jack, just being away from him for that week, not marked and mated, drove me crazy.” I was getting pissed. If anyone tried to harm, anything for that fact, I would kill them all.
“I know, I cried when I heard the story as a child. It is sad to think, that they lost their mate and child, or mate and had to raise the child alone.” Riley grabbed me crying, hugging each other. Kyou was crying uncontrollably.
Riley and I were so caught up in crying, we did not notice Jack and Eli running into the kitchen, scooping us up in their arms. Holding us sniffing our necks.
“Mei, what’s wrong baby?” Jack spoke softly rubbing my face, kissing my forehead. I just kept crying. I could not find the words.
“Riley baby, please tell me what happened?” Eli cooed holding Riley rubbing her back. She could not form the words either. I finally managed to catch my breath in between sobs.
“I-I…. asked her… if she k-knew about the “spirit wolf”.” I managed to get out between sobs.
“Oh, Mei baby. This is why your crying.” Jack said sitting down, kissing my cheek, looking at my bright silver eyes.
“It was the part about the spirit wolf being betrayed, and losing their mate and unborn child, or mate and having to raise the child alone. I could not bear losing you, it would destroy me, and I would kill anyone involved.” I finally steadied my breathing. Looking at his eyes filled with so much Love. He looked over at Eli, who had the same expression.
“Damn. I never thought I would see Mei crying.” Max said holding Seth in his arms. Looking with eyes bright of emotion with a shit eating grin plastered across his face.
“Yes, the story of the last spirit wolf is very disturbing.” Eli said sitting down next to Jack and Me. Riley and I looked at each other, then up at our mates. Watching them converse through their links. Taking a glance around his shoulder, Seth and Max were involved in the conversation as well. Riley and I jumped up.
“Do not be keeping things from me, from us.” I said side hugging Riley, staring all four men down. Seth and Max walked over taking seats next to Eli.
“The only ones that know about your wolf, are in this room. We are not sure whether Titan found this out, and bragged about it, or kept it secret.” Jack said reaching for my hand, interlacing our fingers together, kissing them gently.
“I knew what you were, because of Kyou.” Max said smiling softly at me.
“We never showed our true wolf from in front of Titan and others, just like my eyes.” I said stroking his cheek looking at him reassuringly.
“Wait, What about your eyes?” Eli asked looking at me with a raised eyebrow. Seth, Max, and Riley all looked at me curiously.
“Can I show them?” Linking Jack.
“Yes.” He replied.
I felt Kyou pull back, revealing my silver eyes to the group. Gasps, bright eyes as they saw my true eyes.
“Wait! I thought Kyou had silver eyes. We saw them when we went to the south border.” Eli said standing up looking closer at my face smiling like a goofy kid.
“No. The silver is my actual eyes, Kyou kept them hidden with her eyes.” I said smiling walking around the kitchen smiling slyly.
“Also, we can change the color of our fur.” I said looking at scrunched up faces, raised eyebrows and wide eyes. Oh, this is classic “Polaroid” moment. Where is a camera when you need one?
“Okay, that explains a lot.” Max laughed shaking his head leaning back, shifting to his left side.
“You mind filling us in Big Guy.” Seth looked at him with his face resting in his hand rolling his eyes, receiving a low growl from Max.
“I thought I was going delusional, but I remember the first night I was placed in the cell next to Mei. It was a full moon, seeing as my wolf trait is dominant, I shifted. Well, Mei here took my lead, shifting also, even though we were in cells, it felt good to let our wolves out for the full moon. I did not know if it was my bear half, or what, but her wolf looked grey, but when she stepped under the moonlight, swearing she was silver, then it went back to gray.” Max said smiling remembering that first night.
“Yeah, that was the night you pissed on the guards head.” I laughed remembering the guards mortified face. Max erupted into dark laughter, followed by everyone else.
“You pissed on his head?” Jack laughed pulling me into his lap.
“Hell yeah. That asshole ate my apple.” Max said pouting like a kid.
“Aw, my poor Max.” I said pouting, sticking my bottom lip out, receiving a classic middle-finger salute. I flashed one back, waving it back and forth in the air.
“Hey, I worked hard for that apple, stealing it from Titan’s office.” Max said throwing his hand up in the air. Grunting lowly.
“After that, we were sedated so that our wolves could not emerge.” I said getting pissed thinking about that liquid silver-wolfsbane cocktail. Jack was rubbing my back to calm me down.
“Speaking of which, what happened after Titan sold me off?” Max asked looking at me with concern.
I felt Jack tense under me, Seth and Eli shifted uncomfortably. I sat there thinking about what Titan did to me, the memories came crashing back from that night, up to me getting my sweet revenge. Loud growls roared through the house, and arms came crashing around me. Riley was sobbing into my neck, while the guys were fighting their wolves back.
“What the Hell was that?” Max yelled out. Everyone looking at me with concerned looks, Jack was ready to murder anyone who came near me.
“Oh, Mei I am so sorry you had to go through that.” Riley sobbed harder holding onto me tightly. I gave a soft pat on her back. It happened; I cannot change that.
“What are you all freaking out about?” I asked looking at everyone’s faces. Shock, anger, disgust, hatred all evident on their faces.
“Mei, we saw everything, you literally re-played your memories in our heads.” Riley softly stated, wiping her tears away, while the guys sat with blank looks.
“You castrated him, and fed his shit to Lui and Li. That is fucking hilarious, Eli your face, and the warriors. Oh, my goddess.” Max breathlessly stated before erupting into dark laughter.
“I am sorry that you had to experience that.” Jack linked. Kissing my neck.
“You said I have a fighting spirit, and I will never give up.” I linked back, resting my forehead against his. Joining Max in his dark laughter. Lui and Li must have heard their names, they slowly paced into the kitchen, cocking their heads slightly.
“Oh, speaking of Lui and Li.” Max said with a light shock, when they approached him, then head butted his legs for head rubs.
“Yeah, what can I say I have a soft spot for those two.” I said smiling at them walk over laying down at my feet.
“Hah. I remember the night you slipped your chains, after your fight with… what was his name? oh, yeh, Dominic “the Nightwalker” Nightshade. Titan thought he was slick sending Lui and Li after you, just to find them laying on their backs sleeping.” Max laughed looking at me realizing Jack, Eli, and Seth all looking at me strangely.
“What?” I drew out raising an eyebrow.
“Your fought Dominic? As in Vampire King Desmond’s, son Dominic?” Eli asked with an amused smile forming on his lips. Jack tilting his head slightly, side glancing at Eli.
“If that is who he is, Okay, then Yeah. He was one of my best fights. For a hybrid, he was awesome to fight against.” I said shrugging a shoulder. It was a fight.
“Oh, Desmond is going to laugh his ass off.” Jack said laughing darkly.
“I take it you know, this King Desmond, and his son Dominic?” I asked looking at the guys nod “yes” while laughing.
“Hang on.” Eli said grabbing his cell phone off his belt. Then he dialed someone, placing the phone on speaker…ring…ring… “Hello, Eli.” A deep husky voice answered.
