The Drive
After spending the entire day with my mom, I sent a text to Jason. We agreed to meet outside the house and just take a drive. It was a good evening, warm and peaceful. We drove just outside town, the wind blowing through our hair as we talked about anything and everything. I realized just how attached I had become to him.
As we drove, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something needed to change. I needed to address the growing emotions between us and the other two men in my life – Nathan and Sebastian. I took a deep breath and turned to Jason, breaking the comfortable silence between us.
“I think it’s time we all sit down and talk about the way forward,” I said suddenly, nervously fiddling with my fingers.
“What do you mean, a way forward?” Jason asked, his brow furrowing in confusion.
“I mean, for me to date the three of you. I still want to spend more time with you, but I don’t want to hide our relationship. I don’t want any tension between us,” I explained, my heart pounding in my chest.
Jason was silent for a moment, processing my words. I could see he wasn’t exactly thrilled with the idea, but he smiled and nodded, his gaze softening.
“Since Nathan confessed his feelings to me and he’s okay with sharing me with you and Sebastian, I think we should tell Sebastian and stop hiding. What do you think?” I asked, searching his eyes for a reaction.
“Babe, I’m good with whatever you decide. As long as you have time for me, I’ll support you,” Jason replied, his voice gentle and understanding.
I felt a wave of relief wash over me. I was grateful to have his support and understanding. I knew that navigating a romantic relationship with three different men would be challenging, but I was willing to try for the sake of my happiness and their happiness.
As we continued our drive, Jason brought up a question that had been weighing on his mind.
“What about the tattoo on your...you know...how are you going to explain my name on it to Nathan and Sebastian? Will they understand, especially Sebastian, I'm not too worried about Nathan?” he asked, his voice filled with concern.
I chuckled nervously, running a hand through my hair.
“Don’t worry about it, I’ll figure something out. I’ll talk to them and explain everything,” I reassured him, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze.
The rest of the evening passed in a blur of laughter, deep conversations, and stolen glances between Jason and I.
I felt a sense of calm settle over me, knowing that I had his support as I navigated the complexities of my relationships.
As the sky began to get dark, Jason and I decided to take a drive up to the top of the hill that overlooked the small town below. The view from up there was breathtaking, with the twinkling lights of the houses and buildings creating a beautiful mosaic beneath us. It was going to be our special spot, I decided right then, a place where we could escape the chaos of daily life and just be together.
I leaned my head against Jason’s shoulder as we sat on the hood of his car, sharing a blanket to keep warm in the cool night air. The stars above us seemed to dance in the sky, their light reflecting in Jason’s eyes as he looked down at me with a smile. I felt a rush of love for him, a feeling that overwhelmed me every time we were together.
“I love you,” I whispered, unable to hold back the words any longer. “I love you more than anything in this world.”
Jason’s smile widened, his hand coming up to cup my cheek gently. “I love you too, more than you’ll ever know,” he replied, his voice soft and full of emotion.
We talked for hours, sharing our dreams and fears, our hopes and aspirations. We laughed and me being the cry baby I was, I cried, our hearts were open and vulnerable in the darkness of the night. And while the world below us slept, we found solace in each other’s arms, a connection that transcended time and space.
As the night wore on, Jason wrapped his jacket around my shoulders, a silent gesture of his love and protection. He opened the passenger door for me, his hand extended to help me inside the car. I smiled gratefully, feeling the warmth of his touch even through the fabric of my clothes.
“Let’s go back home,” he said softly, his eyes meeting mine with a mixture of longing and love. “It’s getting cold out here.”
I nodded, not wanting the night to end but knowing that we had to return to reality. We drove back to town in comfortable silence, the radio playing softly in the background. And as we pulled into the driveway, I turned to Jason with a smile.
“Thank you for tonight,” I said, my heart overflowing with gratitude. “I never want to lose this…this feeling of being with you.”
Jason leaned in to kiss me, his lips soft and warm against mine. “I promise you, we’ll always have moments like this,” he whispered, his eyes full of sincerity. “I’ll never let you go.”
Just when I was about to open the car door, Sebastian knocked on the window.
