#Chapter 55: I would never let a man rule me

Olivia’s POV
Even though Gabriel and I were not truly on speaking terms, we had an understanding that something had to be done about Alicia and her murderous intentions. As Queen Luna, the Moon Goddess gave me the ability to tap into Gabriel’s powers and abilities to get information out of anyone.
“So what is your plan?” Gabriel said as he stood with me.
“I need you as well as Eugene and Alpha Herold to aid me in this mission.” I knew he was not okay with this idea, but both men had the knowledge needed to get Alicia here.
“Why do you need the two men that are trying to pursue you, my love?” Gabriel questioned.
“Alpha Herold found the vial in his pack house. He has figured out that Alicia is the cause of his mate’s passing. Eugene tested the vials and found they were a match. He said he may even have something that with get Alicia to give us the antidote. I need you nad both men because she might have something else up her sleeve. Do you trust me?” I stood in front of my mate.
“You know I do,” he whispered as he took me with his lips. He wrapped his arms around my waist and broke the kiss between us. He gave me a quick peck on the forehead.
“I will call both men to meet us at the manor.”
I had thought of something else.
“Gabriel, one more thing…I need you to be the one to extend the invitation out to Alicia.”
Gabriel turned, and his eyebrow lifted in confusion. “Why?”
“Because if anyone else does, she will know something is a miss, but if the King Alpha invites her…”
“She will think that I might give her a way into being your replacement…” Gabriel said, filling in the rest.
“Exactly, Alicia is power hungry, and that is her weakness. Who is more powerful than you, my love?” I said as I wrapped my arms around his waist. I kissed his lips. I knew that he did not like this plan, but I could soothe his ego and his wolf.
“For you, I will walk into the flames of the abyss.” Gabriel said as he walked away from me.
It had only taken a few hours to get work the plan into action. I gripped the wood of the table as I watched each one of them enter the living room. Alpha Herold was the first to arrive.
“So you have a plan to catch Alicia?” he questioned. All I could do was shake my head yes. This man in front of me believe that monster and it leads to me losing my life and the life of my unborn child. I shook my head. I had to focus on the true murderer that cause so much grief to waves that did not deserve it.
A few minutes later, Eugene had entered the living room. He had removed his coat before coming to meet us.
“Queen Luna, are you sure that your plan will work?” he asked.
I looked at my friend for many years. He aided in Reese’s treatment even after Herold tried to ease them. He comforted me when they both broke me down to my worst.
Maybe in another life… I shook that thought from my mind. I promised myself that I would never let a man rule me.
“Gabriel will give you both the signal that she is here. When that happens, we are going to join her…well you two will jo9in them.” I said with a smile.
“What about you?” Eugene asked.
“I thought about a lot of things and I realized that there is more to this little story…” I said as I walked away from teh two men. I pulled my phone from my jean pocket and dialed a number that I pulled from the patient’s folder. Being Queen Luna had a lot of benefits, especially when no one questions your motives.
I listened for the dial tone and heard it ring once before he picked up.
“Hello,” a gruff voice spoke into the speaker.
“Hello it is Luna Rebecca. I was hoping that you and I could talk in private about Mara’s condition?”
There was a pause. “Of course, Queen Luna. I would like to talk to you as well. Where can we meet?”
“The manor will work, prefect. Gabriel is in meetings all day right now,” I said. Take the bait.
“If that is what the Queen desires, I will be there in a few minutes.”

In Third Person
Gabriel was entertaining Alicia while he waited for his mate. Every minute that passed he could see that she was trying to charm her way into his favor. At first, he thought it was just innocent until she brushed up against him—too close to his groin.
He felt his wolf’s growl, but he ignored it and gripped her chin, lifting her gaze to him.
“King Alpha Gabriel, I am so sorry to hear about the trials and tribulations that you face with the Queen Luna. If only you had a mate that could be solely committed to you.”
He smiled at her words and as she brushed his hair from his eyes; he mind linked with Alpha Herold and Eugene.
Make your way here,. Oh and Alpha Herold, I don’t see how you let a pretty face and unpretty words pull you from your mate.
He heard Herold growl at him, but he paid no mind. AS both men entered the patio of the garden when Gabriel and Alicia were sitting, Gabriel saw his mate laughing and walking arm in arm with Alpha Conan.
Conan stopped when he saw Alicia with the Alpha King, while Alicia’s eyes grew wide when she saw the Queen Luna.
“What is the meaning of this?” Gabriel snarled.
“Patience, love,” Olivia said as she moved away from the confused alpha. As she motioned to the other men, Alpha Herold grabbed Alpha Conan in a chokehold that he could not break. Eugene grabbed Alicia by her first and held them behind her back.
Olivia smiled for a moment as she saw how weak Alicia was.
“I am not afraid of you.” Alicia growled.
“What’s going on?” Conan whispered. he shook his head in confusion.
“Alicia, we know you had a vial of poison produced and you were using it against others in neighboring packs,” Olivia said.
“where is your proof?” Alicia smiled. Olivia knew she was arrogant.
“There were two vials, one found in my pack house and the other found after a fight against rogues.” Alpha Herold interjected.
“Does not prove they were mine. How do you know that your precious mate was not trying to poison you?” Alicia stated. Without hesitation, Oliva walked over to the restrained she-wolf and backhanded her.
“Let’s try this again. There are traces of the poison found in the systems of both Reese and Mara. We found the same vials in locations where you have visited or where seen. So do you admit to your crimes?” Olivia said.
“Admit what that if there is poison in those wolfless mongrels, they will die soon enough.” Alicia shouted as she spat out blood.
“NOt really,” Eugene cut her off. “I figured out how the poison worked. It acts as a false antibody disguising itself as white blood cells. It kills the healing ability first and then works on weakening the wolf and then the host.
If the patient does not have a wolf like Reese, the process will act quickly and destroy the body from the inside out. Mara took longer because her wolf and body fought. It also explains why her dosage of poison was higher than Reese’s.”
Olivia could see the panic in Alicia’s eyes. She had only one bargaining chip left, and Eugene had robbed her from that.
“I will tell you where I got the poison from if you spare my life,” Alicia said as she fell to the ground.
