19. You Are Different
After being given time to think, Victoria approached Robert and Luna who were operating their plane across a place.
The three of them sat in a circle and prepared to listen to what they might say.
"So you mean, if I die, everyone is in danger. So that means, I'm the key?" asked Victoria to make sure her role was that important.
Victoria thought hard but she didn't understand at all the meaning of the mission given by her boss. She was not as smart as Sean, but as brave as Sean, and not as experienced as Sean in the field. Although the man also participated in carrying out the secret mission, the one who received the order was Victoria while Sean helped the girl on her mission.
"Why do you say that?" asked Victoria.
Luna as usual seemed reluctant to talk at length with Victoria so she chose to remain silent and let Robert explain something to the girl.
After Luna left and gave Robert the task of watching Victoria.
"Are you hungry? Sorry, there is no food for humans here," said Robert starting Victoria's conversation.
"Oh, it's okay. I'm not that hungry," replied the girl.
"Alright then, let's get started," Robert said again.
Victoria nodded her head, ready to hear what the robot had to say.
"We were assigned to monitor all the planes and creatures from somewhere in the sky. However, one day, a strange signal was transmitted from Earth, and one of the planes was attracted to Earth. Inside the plane were some of the little creature guards that you saw, but the two guards died as soon as the plane landed," Robert explained.
Listening to what Robert said, Victoria could imagine what happened next.
"However, we didn't find the two guards. When the creature's mothership landed first, the other planes would automatically follow, that's why many little creatures roamed around and preyed on humans and animals. They were blood-drinking creatures because they had been locked up inside the plane for decades, they became vicious and bloodthirsty, and that's why they attacked brutally," Robert continued.
Victoria was still digesting what Robert had said. Even though she was talking to a robot, it seemed like Robert was much easier to talk to than Sean. Even easier to understand. Robert looked like a human even though he was a robot that could change his form into anything he touched.
“So, what should we do?” Victoria asked.
“Something that evolves must have a host or the parent of the development. The host creature is on the plane, if we can get into the plane, we can prevent further damage. But the plane is protected by an eternal fire that is difficult to penetrate. The fire will burn anything near it, without exception,” Robert explained again.
This time Victoria was silent, deciding to listen again to what Robert said. After all, what could Victoria do? If the girl was important, then Robert would explain it in detail.
“Luna and I came with two other friends, but our two friends melted because of the eternal fire that protected the plane. That’s why we need time, and that’s also what offended Luna,” Robert continued.
Victoria lowered her face, feeling guilty for saying that to Luna who knew more about the eternal fire that protected the plane.
“Isn’t there a way to stop the fire or something?” Victoria asked.
“That’s what we’re looking for. Unfortunately, there’s no other way because it’s too strong. Inside the plane there are various medicines, equipment, and also what humans need, which is your mission,” said Robert.
What Robert said surprised Victoria quite a bit. How did Robert know about the mission the girl received?
“You don’t need to be surprised because we know a lot of things. We can also read human minds,” admitted Robert.
Of course, Victoria was even more surprised by all of Robert’s abilities as a robot.
“So, what did you bring me for?” asked Victoria.
But this time Robert didn't say it directly, just stared at the girl in front of him for a long time, and watched Victoria with his two blue eyes.
"Because we're looking for you," Robert said without taking his attention off the girl.
"Looking for me?" Victoria didn't understand what Robert said.
"That's right. You can stop the war," Robert pointed his finger at the screen showing the war between the soldiers and the strange little creatures. "This is war. They can't be stopped before their hosts are dealt with."
Victoria was silent once again. The screen showed a very unfair war. The soldiers were outnumbered by the creatures, even so, some soldiers survived. The creatures' jumping movements were completely unexpected.
"How do I stop it? Do I have to burn in that eternal fire?" Victoria asked, slightly raising her voice because of the sudden panic attack.
Robert didn't answer, just stared at the girl silently as if analyzing her.
"You don't need to be afraid because you're different," Robert said.
Victoria's brow furrowed at Robert's words.
"What do you mean?" The girl was curious.
"I don't know if they know it or not. But, since you appeared in the creature's attack arena, your aura has become too different. We have been observing for more than a week, no one can touch the plane area. However, I don't know what's wrong with you," Robert said again.
But Victoria increasingly did not understand what Robert said.
"I don't understand what you're saying," Victoria admitted.
"You have an aura like ice," Robert said.
For some reason, Victoria did not understand at all. The girl was not a lover of romance novels, fiction, or fantasy that could reach strange and imaginative thoughts. Victoria always prioritized logic, so for her what was real and the results were by logic and formulas, that was what she could believe.
"You won't understand what we're saying, right? You're used to understanding in theory, and taking action. "You consider something before making a decision. So, I will show you what you should do," Robert said again.
Victoria chose to remain silent, digesting what Robert said. Although it was hard to believe, did Victoria have a choice? If Robert and Luna knew how to stop the creature, why couldn't Victoria cooperate with them? Victoria was a soldier who worked as a team, not as an individual, so she could understand Robert's instructions.
However, the problem was, that Victoria was hesitant. How could Victoria stop it, and she was the only one who could because she had an ice aura? Honestly, Victoria didn't understand it, but she had to try, whatever it was, if there was a chance then it had to be tried to see what the results were, right? However, Victoria admitted that she needed time to prepare herself.
