21. What's the Deal?
After everyone sat down in their respective places. Victoria sat near Maria and Luna, while the men sat close together. First, Victoria introduced Robert and Luna and told them that both of them were robots. Second, Victoria asked them to listen to her.
After Victoria conveyed her needs and the reason for her arrival with Robert and Luna. Robert began to explain who he and Luna were.
"We are robots created by humans several years ago. We have intelligence like humans, but also above humans. It's just that we are like computers that have been set up," Robert admitted. "I am Robert Ken, and this is Luna. Our arrival on Earth has something to do with that creature," Robert continued.
"Do you have anything to do with that creature?" Maria asked to make sure that what Robert said was true.
"Yes. We have something to do with it. However, we will explain it slowly," said Robert.
Things related to analysis are Luna's job, while Robert explained. From Luna's analysis, they don't have time before the other creature in the egg falls. It will be very dangerous for humanity, meaning that all living things on Earth will be destroyed if it is not stopped immediately.
Luna said that there would be another ship if they ran out of time. Inside the ship protected by the eternal fire, there was a battery, if the battery ran out, the other ship would fall because the battery was the control of the other ship. So they had to hurry. Not only that, Luna told them that it was difficult for them to approach the mother ship.
"Apart from being protected by the eternal fire, no one can enter and deactivate the fire. Even a robot race like us, it's not easy. For years since we were created, no one has been able to do it except one person," explained Robert.
"One person? Who is that?" asked Maria.
"Unfortunately, that person has died," replied Robert.
They were just about to breathe a sigh of relief because it turned out there was a solution, but there wasn't. They would still be stuck in that unfavourable situation.
"But now we have a solution. However, it won't be easy," said Robert again.
Victoria, who had been listening silently, secretly glanced at Sean who remained silent as if the man was angry. However, Victoria could not understand why the man looked so angry.
"Why?" asked Daniel.
"Because there is always a risk in every decision," answered Robert slowly.
From the way Robert answered, it seemed that the risk was not a small thing.
"What is it?" asked Nathan.
"Someone among you can go through the fire," said Robert.
What Robert said surprised them, except Victoria but no one realized the girl's reality.
"Who?" asked Maria stammering. Surprised to know that.
"However, even though there is one of us, the risk taken, is a sacrifice?" asked Nathan who turned out to be a man who knew more about things that might happen from a decision.
Sacrifice will always be there in every choice, decision, or whatever it is to achieve a goal.
Robert and Luna's silence was enough to give them the answer that what Nathan said was true, there were sacrifices and risks that they had to face.
Once again, that hope seemed to disappear.
"Can you tell me what the risks are?" asked Sean.
However, neither Robert nor Luna answered immediately.
"I'll tell you about his strengths. Having an ice aura, and a body temperature that is always maintained, a fairly strong immune system, and being the only one who can break the cycle, and being a descendant of the first person to sacrifice and help us," Robert explained his strengths.
However, the soldiers seemed not to understand what Robert was saying.
"Wait. Sorry, do you mean, the first person to sacrifice and help?" asked Daniel. "You mean, something similar has happened?"
“Yes,” Luna answered quickly and briefly.
That was surprising.
“That was decades ago, in another part of the world,” Luna said. “There was a reason why those creatures came and attacked humans and those who live on this Earth. We are guardians who try to keep them safe. However, we cannot control the signal,” Luna continued.
They thought about what Luna said.
“That means something is wrong?” Maria asked.
“Yes. We suddenly got a strange signal after years of being safe and controlled. The first ship to land was the mother ship that received the signal. The signal also has power, when the signal appears, the mother ship will be attracted and no one can stop it,” Robert explained.
“It’s like a magnetic pull, right?”
“Yes, something like that. However, if the one who activated the signal was a human, then they would not be able to survive, no matter how far the safe radius is, because the effect of the magnet from the signal is like a drawn sword.”
“That means someone did it?”
“Yes,” Luna answered briefly.
“You know?”
“Yes, we know. But we couldn’t act. We’ve been having a bit of a hard time because we’re not native to Earth. We looked for loopholes, opportunities, and other ways to stop it but we couldn’t. Until, a few days ago someone appeared on our radar. After considering it, we made a decision,” Robert explained.
This time no one asked as they looked at each other. Victoria also listened, ignoring the indirect confession the girl had heard when she came earlier.
However, Sean’s attention was focused on Victoria as if he had realized something.
“You’re great, huh? Human destiny is indeed strange,” Luna said who noticed Sean’s gaze.
“What do you mean? Wait. Does it have something to do with Victoria’s disappearance?” Nathan asked.
Robert nodded his head.
“We need her for a while, and to make sure that the person we’ve been looking for all this time is Victoria. We don’t want to risk being known by many humans, so we’ll talk to Victoria for a while, then make a deal,” Robert said.
“What deal?”
“If you guys can’t work together, I’ll go back and let those creatures devour the entire Earth,” Luna replied.
Of course, it surprised the others to hear it, but for Victoria, it wasn't true so the girl held back her laughter because it was funny to see her friend's different reactions.
"Luna was joking, but it's possible," added Robert.
There was no sigh of relief from them because whether it was a joke or not, in reality, nothing was easy, and Robert had not explained the risks and what they had to sacrifice.
"You haven't said the bad thing," said Daniel, reviving the conversation.
Robert looked hesitant as if he understood how humans would be shocked and consider the decisions they had to make if he said something bad would happen.
Victoria herself waited because she also didn't know the bad thing. Robert or Luna didn't have time to tell her because they didn't have much time.
"Just tell me," Nathan urged.
But Robert remained silent, and Luna focused more on the screen on the back of her hand.
"Hey! The battery is only twenty per cent, Rob!" Luna suddenly informed.
Luna focused on the screen on the back of her hand, there was an emergency warning there.
Once again, it surprised the others.
"Who is that person?" Nathan asked.
There was no answer from Robert who directed his gaze to Victoria who was silent. All gazes were on the girl following Robert's gaze.
What should Victoria do?
