26. Successfully Stopped
Right after Boby closed his eyes and exhaled, the plane shook. The loud sound made Victoria cover her ears tightly, even close her eyes tightly. The shaking was strong enough that the girl fell even though she was in a sitting position. The incident on the plane lasted a long time, making Victoria uneasy. The door was tightly closed, the lights inside flickered, and even the technology there seemed to be an error.
This situation made Victoria's body bounce here and there, even hitting the hard walls of the plane, or something else. Not only Victoria, but also Boby who was already dead because of something that caused the man's death.
"Victoria, can you hear me? Speak?" Luna's voice called out but the loud sound from the plane could not make Victoria answer, even seemed to have difficulty and pain.
Because of the fairly hard impact, Victoria's forehead was bleeding, and it got worse because when fighting with Boby earlier Victoria got several cuts, and gunshot wounds even though the bullets did not hit the girl's body. Still, the blood came out quite heavily.
"Victoria?" The voice heard from the communication link had not even been answered by the girl.
The vibrations continued, for who knows how long.
Meanwhile, outside the plane, the eternal fire that protected the plane was getting hotter than usual, even the trees within a radius of several meters were burning, some of which were nearby melted. The alien ship that landed nearby was also burning, and some others melted.
The eternal fire was blazing as if it were angry. The body of the plane was spinning fast. Robert and Luna, who were quite close, were forced to move away. Luna dragged Robert to a safer place so that they would not melt from the hot touch of the eternal fire.
"Stop!" Luna snapped as Robert was about to head towards the plane.
Luna gripped Robert's hand tightly.
"If you go there, you won't survive, and it won't help at all," Luna said. "There's still something you have to do here, there's still a way to get Victoria out of the plane, but it takes time," Luna explained.
"That creature. What about that strange creature?" Victoria's voice sounded weak from the communication channel.
"Are you okay, Victoria?" asked Luna immediately.
"That creature. Just tell me what it is?" asked Victoria again.
"That's…,"
"Luna!" Victoria gasped amidst the rumbling sound inside the plane. The girl was still trying to survive the violent shaking.
"I've done what I had to do, but it takes time for them to stop completely," answered Luna.
"So you can stop them, right?" asked Victoria again.
"Yes, I can stop them," said Luna confidently.
"That's good. At least, you can stop those creatures," said Victoria softly.
"Hey. Are you okay? Hang in there."
But the connection was cut off at that moment.
"Victoria!" Luna shouted but there was no answer from the line.
Robert was also surprised and tried to call the girl again but there was no answer.
"You have to get ready, Rob. I'll stop the ship," said Luna.
"What about the creatures?" asked Robert.
"They stopped," a voice answered from the line. “But we’re exhausted,” Daniel continued breathlessly. “But we’re fine.”
Luna looked at Robert.
“We’re fine too. The creatures stopped,” Nathan said from the other line.
How did the creatures stop?
After Victoria pressed the button, Luna ordered, and Luna took over to deactivate the other system that controlled the creatures, but it took minutes, even an hour at most to stop the creatures.
When Luna succeeded, the creatures stopped moving like remote-controlled robots. The creatures were motionless, some slumped, and some looked stiff. When shot, the creatures turned to ash and disappeared.
Every place that the creatures attacked began to stop moving, making the humans who were struggling to survive exhausted even though they looked relieved to see it. At least they were still alive even though they were injured. People even hugged each other, cried on the spot, or even laughed in disbelief. The creatures now looked like toys.
“Tell everyone not to touch the creature even though they are not moving at all,” Luna said giving orders to the four soldiers who were now catching their breath.
“What do you mean?” Maria asked.
“The slime is poisonous, anyone who touches it will die in minutes. So, don’t touch it. Just leave it like that, I will collect it using the control robot,” Luna explained again.
“Okay. I will let you know,” Nathan said. “How are things there?” the man asked.
Luna did not answer, Robert himself was focusing on the technological tool given by Luna to stop the plane. However, it seemed that the mothership was not easy to stop.
The communication between Luna, Robert, and Victoria could not be heard by the others so Luna or Robert’s screams could not be heard, and what Victoria said, only the two of them knew.
“Safe,” Robert said briefly. “We will finish it in a few minutes. You guys, get ready to come here. Luna will tell you the location,” Robert continued.
Luna looked at Robert who was still busy with the tool in his hand.
Listening to Robert's command, Luna gave the location where they were now.
"Victoria, I need Sean," said Robert softly after Luna sent the location to Sean and Nathan.
Luna didn't say anything, but Luna knew why Robert said it softly.
"The girl will be fine, I'm sure," said Luna confidently and turned her gaze forward, to the plane that was still spinning fast.
However, that was just hope.
On the other hand, Sean was also badly injured and exhausted. Daniel and Sean were still in place, gasping for breath and energy to move. The creatures that attacked them in large numbers overwhelmed them to deal with them, but fortunately, everyone is safe now, it's just that their condition is not so good now.
Not much different from Daniel and Sean, Maria who was accompanied by Nathan was still sitting on the ground, leaning on each other, regulating her almost exhausted breath, and restoring their energy to be able to move and head to the location sent by Luna. Although the distance was not that far, if their energy ran out, it would be difficult to crawl so they chose to rest for a while.
In other places, it was the same. After Nathan told every military camp to inform everyone, none of them touched or even approached the motionless creature. They preferred to go to a safe place to rest from the war between humans and aliens.
Meanwhile, inside the plane, Victoria was still struggling by herself from the shaking of the plane which made her body bounce and hit the wall. Victoria's consciousness was also quite low, maybe thirty per cent of the girl could still respond. A few moments ago, Victoria managed to tie her body so that it would not hit too much. But the problem now, the girl seemed unable to survive.
