Chapter 26

"We will investigate this later. But I did some research and it turns out that Mr. Samuel came because he was trying to kidnap Mr. Zharies. Is that true, Mr. Zharies?" asked Gerry's personal assistant.

It's very hard for me to discuss this. It was tantamount to revealing that I was the cause of all of Gerry's problems. But no matter how evasive I was, it was still true. Instead of being evasive, I should help them investigate this matter.

"That's right, Samuel came into my room and he tried to kidnap me," I explained calmly.

Both Johan and Ted (Gerry's personal assistant) looked curious about my explanation. They must have been thinking about the reason why Samuel wanted to kidnap me. Their faces were serious and their faces showed that they were thinking.

"Your balcony door is actually equipped with a smart lock feature that will immediately notify the security center at the mansion if someone opens it from outside. But there was no notification at all that there was a break-in at your balcony door. We also installed the same feature on the window in your bedroom," Ted explained to me.

I swallowed harshly, Ted's words just now were like an insinuation to me even though his facial expression looked serious and he showed that he was indeed explaining to me about the security system in the house.

"Wait!" Don't raise his hand to instruct us for a moment. "If that's the case, does that mean Mr. Zharies' balcony door or window was deliberately opened from the inside?"

The three of us were silent for a moment and then the two people in front of me looked at each other. I'm sure they're both thinking the same thing I'm thinking right now, I'm sure they must be pointing the accusation at me if they look at the series of clues in this incident.

"Mr. Zharies, I'm sorry we asked this... We didn't mean to---"

"I'll answer everything but not now. I will answer your questions when Gerry has been treated by the doctor. I will explain everything when Gerry can hear my answers directly. Then everything will be clear and you won't have to explain it to Gerry again. Because there's something else I want to tell you, and Gerry needs to know it too," I said with a unanimous decision.

They both glanced at each other and then they nodded their heads. My chest was pounding as I revealed what I had just said, but I believed it was time for me to explain everything without exception to the people who had the right to hear this.

The three of us then waited for the doctor to finish treating Gerry's condition, who was badly injured by Samuel's stabbing. I was very worried that Gerry's condition would not be helped due to the deep wound.

"Calm yourself, Mr. Zharies. We must be sure that the doctor and other medical staff can provide the best treatment for Mr. Gerry and that Mr. Gerry will recover quickly," Johan said trying to calm me down.

"I won't forgive myself if I experience anything worse than this. Even until this moment I still blame myself. I know logically you will think the same as me that I am the cause of all this. And that's all true and I'm not denying it. You can blame me because I blame myself," I said guiltily.

"We're sure you must have your own reasons why you did that. Besides, this incident was out of your control and not what you wanted. Don't blame yourself too much for this because the real culprit is Mr. Samuel, not you," Ted said.

"What Ted said is true. Here you have no fault. We believe the reason you did it was also out of compulsion. Who would have thought Mr. Samuel would do something like that?" Johan said.

I just looked down and squeezed my pants to channel my frustration at myself. My hands were clenched so tightly that I didn't realize my hands were cut by my own fingernails. It wouldn't change anything but I couldn't just walk away and forget about the problem that started with me.

About more than 30 minutes we waited then the doctor came out of the operating room with his special clothes still attached to his body.

You who saw that immediately rushed to the door of the operating room to ask the doctor about Gerry's condition.

"Doctor, how are things...."

I was silent for a moment because I didn't know what to call Gerry in front of other people. But there was no time to think about it because there were far more important things.

"How is...."

The doctor was silent for a moment and looked at me meaningfully, there was no smile on his face and his face didn't show a calm look either. It brought more feelings to me, as if I was about to hear bad news from the doctor regarding Gerry's condition.

"How is my lover's condition?" I asked.

I frantically almost shook the doctor's body but was held back by Johan and Ted. I couldn't help being emotional at times like this.

"Please calm yourself down first. I actually have two pieces of news for you. Which one would you like to hear first?" the doctor asked.

With my hands still clasped tightly I then answered. "The bad news."

"The bad news is that the patient will have to undergo therapy until about more than a week in the future," said the doctor. "The therapy is to recover the shock to the muscle that was torn in the patient's body due to the sharp object puncture. Therefore, it is definitely not allowed to do excessive activity during the recovery period."

My legs felt weak when I heard the doctor's explanation about Gerry's condition. It meant that the condition Gerry was in now was very bad, I was very worried that the treatment was not going well because there were one or two things that came from Gerry's natural condition due to the wound he had suffered.

"But is there any chance that my lover can make a full recovery after this?" I asked.

"That will be the answer in the other news," the doctor replied.

I furrowed my eyebrows and immediately replied. "Then what's the other news?"

The doctor then nodded and gave a short pause to answer my question.

"The second news is good news because our treatment went well. And the patient can be saved from the accident he had, and what's even better is that the patient is expected to regain consciousness after 2 hours post-surgery," the doctor said.

The doctor took a breath and then continued his explanation again. "I apologize if I brought the previous news in an unpleasant tone and it made you predict far from the actual situation. Indeed, all wounds caused by rubbing do need regular therapeutic efforts to provide complete healing to the wound. But that does not mean that the patient will experience disability or failure in surgery efforts. So the conclusion is that the patient's condition has improved and can pass the critical period."

I who heard that immediately smiled happily, I almost fell to the floor because I was so happy for the answer I heard.

"So, my lover is actually getting better?" I asked.

The doctor nodded. "For now, there is nothing to worry about. As long as the treatment is given properly and the patient does not experience any impact in the area of the wound that has just been operated on then everything will go well in the future."

The three of us were so happy to hear the news. We who had been plagued with worry and anxiety finally got news that could calm our feelings now.

"Alright, then I'll go back to my room. After this, the patient will be transferred directly to the inpatient room," the doctor said as he walked away.
