16- In love With an italian
-...And I thought the tablecloths might be pink?
-It's okay.
-You know it's my favorite color.
-I know.
-So the dress should have some pink touches! -I'm not going to tell you what the dress looks like on that one-" she winked at him.
-Well.
-But your suit should also have some pink in it so that we match?
-Yes dear.
Alan was on automatic with his fiancée, he had no idea how long he had been talking to her about wedding bullshit that didn't really interest him, but it felt like an eternity. Anyway, he couldn't do anything about it, because she already had everything planned whether he collaborated or not. Her opinion didn't matter, she just had to be there that day and say yes.
The CEO had been sitting at his desk since early morning with Katlyn, but since Helena had arrived at his workplace, he couldn't help but slyly glance at the redhead every now and then.
She watched as Carmen, her late father's former secretary, approached her and they began to talk about something that appeared to be serious from the sad expression on Helena's face. She tried to focus her attention on them, not forgetting to say "Yes" "Whatever you want" "Yes honey" every now and then so Katlyn wouldn't notice.
-I've been having strange dreams Carmen.
-What kind of dreams?
-I can't explain it, but it's a feeling that something bad happened...- exclaimed the redhead squeezing her gray sweater at her chest.
-At Katlyn's party, you mean? Don't you remember what happened?
Helena denied embarrassed, especially because she still felt guilty for having destroyed her only friend's dress there.
-Hele... - whispered her companion. Sebastian tried with all his might to listen to what was next, but Katlyn's shrill voice was stunning him and hogging all his attention- I think you should go to a hospital to get yourself checked out.
Helena hugged herself, she couldn't run away from it anymore.
-Yes, I think you're right.
-Honey," Sebastian exclaimed, making the blonde finally shut up for a second.
-What my love? Did I bore you?
-No, it's not that- she lied- I love it when you talk about the wedding. I can't wait, but I have some things to do and they are important. - He took her by the hands- my love ....-
Katlyn's eyes sparkled when Sebastian called her "My love" and he knew he had her in the palm of his hand.
-It's okay," she pouted.
-I promise we'll have dinner later and have a moment alone.
The woman smiled broadly, satisfied with that. The CEO couldn't promise her more than a moment alone once in a while, they still hadn't had relations for luck of the heir, he was stretching that moment as much as he could, at least until the wedding night, there he couldn't escape the woman's clutches anymore.
The blonde planted a strong kiss on his lips, which Sebastian had to receive without getting tense at the intrusion to his personal space.
-Hello David- Helena had phoned her best friend, she was starting to feel very sick, very dizzy and with an upset stomach, and he was her only option- Sorry to bother you again with my problems, but I'm not feeling very well, could you pick me up at work? I should go to the hospital. Thanks really, you're the best.
Sebastian saw how his secretary got up from her seat and took her bag, he looked out of the window curiously watching where she was going, he had not been able to hear the last of the conversation with Carmen, but from what little he had heard he knew it was nothing new.
Didn't she remember what she had done the night of the bachelorette party? That wasn't good at all, damn you Helena! How long had it taken her not to remember what she had done? He swallowed hard saliva and walked hurriedly to his large window from which he could see the whole city and looked down, there was the unmistakable red hair of his secretary, standing on the sidewalk moving anxiously, shifting her weight from one leg to the other.
"What was she waiting for?" she wondered about to go down all the floors and confront her, when suddenly a vehicle braked in front of her, from which a young and somewhat handsome man got out, she had to admit. Not as handsome as he was, of course. He thought furiously, but he was young and seemed very concerned about his secretary, so much so that he rounded the car and went to meet her, giving her an effusive hug and then opening the door for her to get into that horrid old vehicle.
Sebastian would have thrown himself out of the window if he had listened to his possessive feelings.
He watched the vehicle drive away down the grand avenue and hurried to the parking lot to grab his vehicle and search for them all over town if necessary.
"I swear, I'm going to find you Helena and I'm going to bring you back to the company You have a work schedule to keep!"
Helena arrived along with a very worried David at the hospital.
-Are you sure you don't want me to come in with you?" asked David.
-Helena didn't want to tell David that she was going to ask the doctor to do gynecological studies, because she wouldn't know how to explain to her friend why, if she told him about the party he would go crazy.
-It's okay, I'm out here if there's anything.
Helena had her urine and blood tested, the routine stuff, and very embarrassed she asked the doctor if she couldn't have a routine gynecological exam. The man looked at her strangely, he was going to say that she should ask for an appointment for that kind of check-up, but when he saw the woman's worried face he decided to keep quiet and call the doctor in charge of it.
She did a check-up of the area. The doctor did not say anything about what had happened on the night of the party, she could not know, because Helena had washed the area more than five times a day, trying to eliminate all traces of the event. No, she could not know.
-You have an infection as far as I can see," she exclaimed still checking her area, while the redhead closed her eyes tightly trying to send her mind back to nice memories of her life, ignoring the intrusion to her body that was making her so ill.
-Thank you, doctor.
-Is there anything else I should know?
Maybe that question was routine for the doctor, but Helena felt intimidated, judged, as if she knew everything. As if she knew that Helena was no longer a virgin, that it had been forcibly taken from her and that she no longer had anything precious.
-No, nothing more," he lied and she seemed to believe him.
-Wait outside for the tests.
And so it was, Helena waited in the waiting room leaning on David's shoulder, who made affectionate circles on the palm of his hand as a sign of support, until the doctor came out and called her by her last name.
-Miss Deluna?
-Yes, it's me.
- Is he your partner?
-No, he's a friend," she answered, puzzled by the question, "But it's okay, he's with me.
The man looked at her with an expression that the redhead took as prejudice, but said nothing. Because deep down she knew he deserved it.
-Well, miss, I must inform you that the tests were positive.
-Positive for what? The young woman felt her breath catch. Had she been infected with a sexually transmitted disease?
-You are pregnant, congratulations. - He exclaimed tactlessly, as if talking about the weather.
"Congratulations" Those words echoed in her head echoing, she couldn't be less than lucky, if he knew....
As soon as the doctor withdrew and if it wasn't for David's quick reaction, Helena would have fallen to the floor in a faint, for her vision blurred and went black around the edges, her heart pounded and her stomach churned.
David held her by the arms and led her toward the seats. As soon as he sat her down, like a bag of potatoes, Helena covered her face in shame that her best friend knew what she really was, and began to cry inconsolably.
