51- Nodded silently
He needed to keep Helena anonymous.
Helena clenched her fists tightly, the proposition of money and the apartment was tempting for the situation she was in.
But did she really want to get rid of the baby?
A part of her was screaming at her that it was the best thing she could do after being forcibly impregnated. That she deserved the money and to have a better life.
But after all it was her child.
What if when he was born she wanted him for herself, how could she let him be taken out of her hands forever?
She didn't know what to do, but she had to make a decision anyway, because her brother's medical bills kept mounting with every second she wasted doing nothing.
-I want an advance on the money. - she sentenced
-but...
-An advance or nothing.
Sebastian seemed to think about it, he knew that such a large amount would raise suspicions in the blonde, he had to make some moves from behind so she wouldn't know his whole hidden plan.
-All right. Sign before I regret it," he ordered.
Helena took with her trembling hand the pen and placed it on the empty line where her signature should be.
She felt she was about to sell her soul to the devil.
"Anything to change your misfortune and that of your family. That curse that all Deluna's seem to carry around with them," a little voice in his head said to him.
This could be the chance she had been waiting for so long to finally stop fighting against all odds.
Finally, the redhead signed and handed the paper to the CEO, she was unable to look him in the eye. She felt humiliated, bought like an object on sale.
She felt a stinging on her skin, the same sensation that generated her remembering the flashes of the night at the motel, for her it was the same, a man using her.
She stood up without looking up.
-What's going on?" asked the concerned CEO, who wasn't very proud of what he was doing either.
-I'm going to use the bathroom," he exclaimed dryly, wanting to scrub his body until he no longer felt the invasion.
Sebastian nodded silently, aching to feel the distance between them.
He had gotten what he wanted and all his problems had been solved.
Why didn't he feel happy?
Sebastian didn't rush Helena in her bath, he could hear the water running over an hour ago and a low sound trying to hide from the noise of the rain, making his heart squeeze, wanting to go in and hug her tightly.
He needed to distract himself with something, otherwise he would.
While he waited for the young woman to finish, he took care of a few things that had to do with the young woman's new life, whether he wanted to or not, the CEO had to be aware that Helena's life was in his hands from now on, at least for the next 7 months.
He had to be cautious, go on with his life as normal as possible, without Katlyn suspecting anything.
"Speaking of which I need to talk to her as soon as possible" He thought with annoyance.
He heard the shower faucet finally turn off and hurriedly ran into the bedroom to place a present on the bed along with a note and leave the apartment.
Helena stepped out of the tub, embraced by the hot steam of the bathroom, feeling the water droplets sliding down her skin and the sting of her new wounds taking over.
Since she had stepped into the shower she had entered a trance of pain and suffering, which had made her lose track of time.
When had it happened?
"I hope Sebastian wasn't upset by the delay."
But when the former secretary emerged from the bathroom, she found she was alone.
She sighed relaxed, not realizing she had been holding her breath.
She walked more confidently toward the bedroom, since the only thing covering her was the towel tied around her torso.
She expected to find her clothes washed, she didn't mind wearing them still wet as long as she didn't abuse the man's hospitality anymore and kept wearing his clothes. When she spotted a white cardboard bag with a red bow on top. Next to it was a handwritten letter.
Insecurely, the redhead took the paper, wetting it with her soaked skin.
"I had to leave for some engagements, I'll be back soon."
The redhead had to admit that her former boss had beautiful handwriting, the kind that comes only with a lot of practice and discipline, a smooth and elegant stroke.
"How is he" She thought.
She put the letter aside and took the present curiously.
He couldn't remember the last time someone had given him a gift.
She removed the ribbon as red as her hair and reached into the bag, pulling out some new, rose-scented clothes.
Inside, there was a soft, good quality white cotton t-shirt, a warm, brick-colored sweatshirt and cotton pants that looked comfortable at first glance.
"It's as if he knows my tastes" She thought feeling her cheeks coloring, seeing that the clothes were not tight nor did they reveal any part of her body.
The bag fell to the floor, and when the young woman picked it up, a small package came out from inside. Curiously she opened the cardboard box, turning red as a tomato when she saw that it was underwear. The bottom part was wide, covering all her intimacy, and the top part....
Helena took the brazier out of the box, feeling her heart pounding, but not from embarrassment or excitement at seeing that the man had bought her a set of lingerie, but because that new bra was red, quite similar to her own, which she had lost that day.
"Could it be that...?"
-No... no...- she exclaimed aloud shaking the intrusive ideas from her mind. - It's just a coincidence- she said to herself wanting to believe it. She put the top back in the bag, because since that day she hadn't been able to wear that piece. And not only because she had misplaced it and had no money for a new one, but because the young woman was trying at all costs to avoid the memories of that day.
She dressed in haste, fearing that the CEO would arrive just as she was half-dressed. Not only would she be embarrassed for him to see her scrawny, shapeless body, but she would feel exposed if her former boss saw the wounds she had given herself.
