11 – Probe me

Micaela had known her best friend Helena for years, they had practically grown up together and yet she never ceased to surprise her. Her friend was a Pandora's box, she always came out with something new. Maybe that's why when she saw a high-end, black, perfectly polished car pull up to the door of her house, she knew that Helena had something to do with it.

And she quickly confirmed it when the young girl got out of the back seat. He watched her with curiosity from the window of her house. The young brunette approached the driver's door, opened it and leaned into the car, as if she were saying something to the person inside, and then closed the door. with force as if it were a revolving door.

Micaela observed with curiosity how the car did not leave while her friend walked quickly towards the door of her house, it seemed that she was waiting for her to return.

She heard the doorbell of her house ring and she ran to the door, she needed to know as soon as possible what was happening, what story she would come with now, she just hoped that she hadn't gotten into trouble.

"Friend!" The young woman exclaimed, opening the door wide. "Where were you? You didn't answer even one of my messages," she protested, looking askance over her friend's shoulder.

Helena seemed to notice the young woman's gaze and moved as if she wanted to block her friend's view of her.

“I told her to wait at the corner, but she had to insist on waiting for me at the door,” she thought with frustration, feeling her forehead sweat from nervousness.

"Yes, I'm sorry, a lot has happened in such a short time," she exclaimed, rubbing the back of her neck and laughing nervously.

Micaela raised an eyebrow curiously.

-Are you going to tell me how you arrived in that luxury car when you can barely buy a pair of socks a month?

Helena opened her eyes wide.

-W-what? I-I didn't come in that car, I was already here when...

Micaela rolled her eyes and interrupted her.

-Clarita... I saw everything, there is no need for you to invent anything-

Helena huffed in frustration and sighed heavily.

“I can't tell you the whole truth, I'd go crazy!”

"Okay, you caught me, I came in that car... But it's not what you think!" She exclaimed with a blushing face when she saw the mischievous smile of her friend.

-Year? And then that handsome boy what?

"Handsome boy?" She exclaimed confused, turning her neck inhumanly backwards. "Shit..." she whispered.

“I told him to stay in the damn car!” She screamed inside her.

Ivan walked slowly towards where the two young women were, with a brilliant smile, showing his dimples, his shiny teeth and his slanted eyes showing that it was a genuine and fun smile.

If it weren't for him being upset with him, he would have melted right there.

-I-I...- she stammered, not being able to explain anything to her friend, she was speechless and the only thing she could do was follow the walk of her new boss, who didn't seem to arrive anymore, like if everything were in slow motion.

"They call you stupid..." she murmured in her ear, her friend.

"Shut up for God's sake!" she begged, what she needed was for Micaela to humiliate her in front of him.

"Hello..." her friend purred, completely ignoring her warning. "Who are you?" she asked, making little eyes.

-Am….

"He's my boss!" Helena exclaimed, stepping forward to the man and staring at him with her honey-colored eyes boiling with anger that said, "Don't even think about saying your name."

Ivan smiled even more but remained silent, he was having fun seeing Helena's red face and ears.

"Your boss?" She exclaimed incredulously. "Just that?" She asked, amused.

-Yes, just that... I am his... hers...

“Shit Helena, think of something!”
"I'm your personal nurse!" she screamed. "Yes!" M-he hired me to take care of her sick father-she smiled nervously, looking askance at her boss, begging her to play along.

If her friend found out that she had become a gangster's bodyguard, which practically meant putting her body in front of the bullets that would be aimed at him, she would go crazy.

She hadn't thought about it until that moment, but when she accepted the deal she had agreed to risk her life for that man.

She didn't know how long she was lost in her thoughts, but it was Ivan who spoke and answered all the questions her friend had been asking without receiving an answer from him.

"It's true... I hired Miss Herrera to be my father's nurse," she said seriously, as she had never heard it before. I wanted to laugh at him, he was being chivalrous and patient with his loud friend when he wasn't even close to that. I offered to bring the young lady to inform you of this, since she's going to have to stay at the family home. to take care of my father 24 hours a day.

Micaela opened her eyes wide and demanded an explanation from her friend.

-That is true?

"Yes..." she responded, biting her lip, "I came to tell you about that."

-But what about the faculty?

"Well..." she began to say, scratching the back of her neck, "I already passed the finals, I can take a quarter off..." she responded more to herself than to her friend.

-I see…. "He must pay you well," she replied shamelessly.

-That's what Mica was also coming for... I'm going to transfer the money to your account, I need you to take care of the rent for the business...

-I? "And that?" She asked incredulously.

-I don't want my uncle to know about the money, did you hear?

Micaela didn't say anything else, she knew how disastrous her friend's uncle could be and she also knew about her gambling problem. Her friend's new boss didn't have to know that.

Ivan was curious about that, but he didn't say anything.

"Don't worry, Clarita, I'll take care of it. You keep in touch, okay?" She exclaimed excitedly, hugging her friend tightly.

Helena would have told her in another situation that she was being exaggerated, that she wasn't leaving forever, although a part of her wasn't sure about that, maybe she would never come back, she really didn't know, and she couldn't use her cell phone like before.

He closed his eyes and hugged her friend tightly, feeling her love, trying to record her moment in her mind, because he didn't know when he would see her again.

-Goodbye friend, I'll be fine, don't worry about me.

Iván knew that he was unnecessary in that emotional moment and was considerate enough to turn his back on him and walk towards the car.

Micaela watched the handsome boy walk away from them.

-Are you sure everything is okay?-She whispered in her friend's ear-You know you can tell me anything….

"Everything is fine," she lied. "I just really need the money... when I get enough I'm going to quit."

Micaela sighed and released the hug.

"Okay, go..." he exclaimed, pushing her and giving her a fun spanking. "Go with the handsome boy, who knows, maybe you'll conquer him with your charms," she exclaimed, winking at him.

Helena rolled her eyes, but then she smiled wistfully at her friend and walked towards the car. Ivan was waiting for her with the window down, watching her every move as if he were a guard dog.

Helena sat in the back seat.

-Am I your driver? -She asked with annoyance.

Helena ignored him, it was better this way, to be as far away as possible. Although when she felt the man's dark gaze from the rearview mirror she regretted her decision. She tried to ignore it, even though that strong look of hers would have buckled her knees if it hadn't been her because she was sitting.

"So, nurse, huh... I see you knew about my father," she exclaimed seriously. – The news spreads.

-That? I don't…. "I didn't know," she exclaimed embarrassed, "I didn't know that your father..."

"It's okay, it's nothing," she replied curtly.

After that everything was awkward, Ivan drove in silence to Helena's place while she just looked at the window feeling like an idiot for having said what her boss's father said was true. She had put her foot in the deep end, she just hoped that this man was okay, otherwise she would feel even more guilty.
-You know... I could really take care of him if you need it- he said with red cheeks- I study medicine and...

"I already know that," she replied curtly.

"Of course, you already know everything about me," she responded with a bit of annoyance.

Ivan was about to speak again, a part of him wanted to tell Helena not to worry about her father, that it wasn't that big of a deal. His father had never been very affectionate, so seeing him sick hadn't been as hard a blow as it should have been.

"It's here," the brunette exclaimed, breaking him out of her thoughts.

Ivan stopped and looked through the windshield at a small dilapidated restaurant.

"Stay here this time, please," the young woman begged as she went down.

Ivan nodded reluctantly and watched with a sharp gaze as the young woman got out of the car and entered the small establishment.

He stayed with the vehicle running, prepared for anything that might happen. Many would say that he was being paranoid, but the reality was that with his profession he had to be more than attentive, he did not know when the enemy might appear to want to eliminate him, plus that area belonged to the Luna Group, and he had already risked a lot in taking out Helena from that seedy joint, now had to act as cautiously as possible. Ivan leaned back in his seat and waited impatiently for the young woman.

---

"Helena!" exclaimed her uncle, coming out from behind the counter almost dragging his visibly injured leg but with bandages covering the wounds. "Where have you been, dear?" he exclaimed nervously, looking at her up and down, as if looking for some sign of what was happening. had happened to him.

Ever since he had had the nerve to send the thugs after his niece to save his own skin he had felt guilty. The young woman had not answered her calls and she had feared the worst.

He sighed in relief and tried to hug her, but Helena continued walking up to her mezzanine.

-Clear? Everything is alright?

A few minutes later Helena rushed down with a backpack to her man.

-Helena, what is happening?

The young woman approached her uncle and kissed her cheek.

-I promise to explain to you later.

-You're scaring me girl...

"Don't worry, the rent will be up to date, you just take care of maintaining the business for a few months," she said seriously. "I promise to come back."

The uncle was left with words in his mouth when he saw that Helena was leaving the business without saying anything else. With her aching body, he accelerated his pace and saw just when her niece was getting into a high-end car that could only be of someone dangerous.

"Helena!" He exclaimed, quickening his pace, as if he were trying to prevent her only family from being taken away, knowing that everything was her fault.

---

"Speed up," the young woman pleaded, closing her eyes, she didn't want to see the business and her uncle walking away through the window, that would hurt even more.

Ivan said nothing and obeyed her request, accelerating quickly.

---

They got out of the car in silence and both walked through the long hall of the mansion. Ivan could no longer bear the atrocious silence.

"I don't understand why you want that business so much, you could have a much better one and in a better area of the city with the money you're going to earn," he murmured from behind her.

Helena stopped suddenly, but she didn't turn around when she said:

"It makes no sense for me to explain it to you, you would never understand," she spat angrily.

Suddenly, she felt them grab her shoulders and turn her backwards, finding her boss's body very close to hers. Before she could protest, her back gently collided against a wall, being cornered underneath not only by his strong arms. holding her firmly, but also by the man's dark gaze that left her petrified.

"Try me," she murmured dangerously against her neck, with her voice velvety and so serious that it caused heat not only in her cheeks, but also in her crotch.
